Place is dirty! Very little maintenance is done. Stained carpet, dirty windows and siding. The staff even complains.

We recently moved my 89 yr old mom to Edenton Retirement Community and could not be happier with our decision. Jennifer Holmes was our first contact at Edenton and she was fantastic. She gave us our initial tour and addressed all of our questions and needs without making us feel pressured or rushed. We had discovered Edenton through one of the many events they coordinate with other Senior groups in our area. Edenton is a unique senior living model compared to others. They offer Independent Living with Services where my mom lives in a nice 1 bedroom apartment/casita w/ a cute porch (see pic below). She can also keep her cat without being charged a significant monthly fee. My mom has access to fresh air and nature just outside her door. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained with mature trees and flowers everywhere. Many of the residents have dogs and it seems like someone is always out and about. They also offer traditional Assisted Living like other places but the uniqueness of the Independent Living coupled with Services really fit the bill for us. There are many custom options to choose from. The in house care coordination is excellent as well. I feel like my mom won't be lost in the shuffle in such a tight knit well run place. Having been my mom's main caregiver for the last 7 yrs I am particularly grateful for the support from not only the staff but the residents themselves. Her new neighbors instantly embraced her and have been so friendly. My mom has finally found her flock! We feel reassured she is safe, happy, and well cared for at Edenton. Most importantly, my mom is extremely happy herself. Very highly recommend!

After a surprise hospitalization in NY, we brought my father down to Edenton for long-term care. The rehab facility he came from gave us not-the-best information on his needs, but the staff here was caring and rolled with the punches. I was updated constantly on his progress, and everyone was very caring, to both him and my family (4 year old included). He was not sure about moving out of NY, but ended up being happy at Edenton. I feel so, so thankful that his last two months were so lovely here.

My mother spent the last few weeks of her life at Edenton. The staff was caring, friendly, and respectful, the facilities were clean and well maintained, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We visited a lot of assisted living facilities in the area. By far, Edenton was the best.

My mom was in the memory care unit for the past 8 months and became one of the loving and caring family that is there. She loved it...was very well cared for...great activities for her mind ... exercise...social times...made friends. She had a staff of angels watching over her. My family and I were so blessed to have found Edenton. Her last week was in hospice right there in her room so she was home before going to her forever home with our Lord. She was surrounded in love !! We would highly recommend Edenton anytime!!

My father is well here at this community. This is a nice community, and I'am comfortable with his move to this community. They have a nice staff, they are taking good care of him, and his needs. The staff is very positive. There are activities offered for the residents when they are ready to participate. He seems pleased with the meals. They are providing him with good care, and I would recommend this community.
