Reviews Landing at Watermere Frisco Assisted Living
June 2026
We are very pleased with the facility and the care Mom and Dad are receiving at The Landings. And most importantly, Mom and Dad feel safe and cared for and tell us how happy they are they made this transition when they did.
June 2026
My father and mother are original residents of Watermere in Frisco. It is the professional staff, the quality of service and the overall friendships they have made over the yearsthat justifies the decision they made. With the passing of my father, my mom has moved to another phase within Watermere called the Landing. She has recieved the same quality of care, while enjoying each day with new activities, meeting friends for cards or simply over a well prepared meal A huge thank you goes out to each worker and their dedication to provide comfort and care to our loved ones!
May 2026
My mother-in-law is a current resident. I was very nervous and worried for her. After the first week she met a few people, started playing cards and now she is busy all day everyday. The staff is amazing with her and the other residents. My husband and I had lunch with her on one of our visits and the staff was very attentive and watchful. I can honestly say she is very happy there.
May 2026
My mother moved in a few months ago. She was active and very social before a car accident which put her in the hospital. After that her world became smaller. Not as active as she was but that all changed when she moved in. When we visit her now she always has something to do that day. You can see she is the person she was before. She is so busy and happy, it is a miracle. Staff is great and the activities are fun and entertaining.

Very beautiful facility with the absolute worst management who do not care about their residence or staff they can’t keep a director of nursing for more than two months. Very toxic work environment.

Picking a care facility for loved ones is a very difficult decision for everyone involved. We did a tremendous amount of research to find the best care, lifestyle, staff, facilities, food, and many other dimensions then balanced that against cost. We looked at a total of 7 different places. While the Landing at Watermere Frisco is a premier facility, at the end of the day the cost difference was not that great. IMO, it turned out to be the best value when you consider all the included services and level of staff attention to details that significantly reduces external touch points and associated costs. The big surprise came after move in my parents loved it and assimilated without missing a beat. The structured activities, food service, caregiver attention, healthcare, transport, laundry, and housekeeping, among other things, was exceptional and really helped with the transition. There is a feeling of home and residents and staff interact as family. The intangibles won the day. We have been part of Watermere’s age in place strategy for almost 4 years now. We have experienced independent living, assisted living, memory care, and extended care. As care needs change over time, the Landing at Watermere steps up and elegantly manages that transition. I found the staff very open to requests for needed financial and tax documents. The healthcare and caregiver staff are very engaged and provide needed feedback. I cannot say enough good things about the Landing we are in a good place now. Hang in there as things will get better. Pray for strength, wisdom, and God’s guiding hand to lead you.
March 2026
The Landing at Watermere in Frisco has been a perfect fit for my dad and our family. He’s 88 and reached the point where living alone just wasn’t safe or healthy, and he needed more support with short term memory, medication management, fall risk, and social connection. From the leadership team to the nurses and doctor, the communication has been great. The staff are top notch, take the time to truly know each resident, and go out of their way to make a difference (they care). Add in great activities and three wonderful meals a day, and I honestly feel we found the best place for him to be safe, cared for, and supported.
March 2026
My Mother moved into the Landing at Watermere in December. She had previously been in an indpendent living facility and it was an adjustment to assisted living. We have been very imprressed with the Landing. Not only is it beautiful, the attention and the care given to her has been outstanding. Any minor problems were dealt with and handled immediatley. All the staff and caregivers are patient, compassionate and caring. They have all the amenities, social activities and outings. My Mom who is an extremely picky eater, loves the food. Highly recommend!
March 2026
Moving my parents from Watermere in Texas to The Landings (assisted living) was a big decision, and I can honestly say the experience exceeded our expectations. Kyu was our first point of contact, and she answered all of our questions with patience and care as we navigated this emotional and sometimes overwhelming process. She never made us feel rushed and truly helped guide us every step of the way. The team at The Landings made what could have been a stressful transition feel smooth, organized, and genuinely caring. The staff has been attentive, compassionate, and responsive”not just to my parents, but to our entire family. The facility itself is clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, with activities throughout the day. Most importantly, my parents are happy and safe. Of course, no place is ever perfect, and this is one of the hardest decisions a family can make. But knowing my parents are cared for, respected, and supported has brought us a great deal of peace. We are truly grateful for the care and kindness shown at The Landings.

June 2025
Amazing place and great facility, but some employees are rude, unprofessional, and very disrespectful. It makes you not ever want to go back there again and possibly deal with people that take out their frustrations on you for no good reason at all, especially if you're a visiting guest. Most employees and very polite, inviting, and friendly, but it's like everything else, there's some bad apples in the bunch.

I helped a family member with looking for a new assisted living community. I toured 4 communities and The Landing at Watermere was by far my first choice. The building was big and beautiful. There was a spacious physical therapy gym, an inviting dining hall, an activity area where people were playing a trivia game lead by the activity director, a beverage & snack bar, and multiple seating areas. The studio room we toured was clean and had everything we were looking for: large bathroom with a roll-in shower, safety rails, and a call cord, kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator, and a room with hardwood floors and an included TV. The best part of my experience with The Landing at Watermere was the staff. Scott helped us with our original tour and was very knowledgeable. Teon was very caring and respectful during my love one’s health evaluation. The dining staff was attentive and friendly when we had lunch. Working with the sales director, Melody, was amazing! She was so helpful and kind in all our conversations. She truly was doing everything she could to make sure my loved one got the care they needed at a price we could afford. She went above and beyond to help us. My loved one ended up staying at their current community, but I am relieved to know that The Landing at Watermere is an excellent choice if we need it in the future.

If you're searching for a forever home for your loved one, I highly recommend The Landing at Watermere Frisco. Melody, the sales counselor, is incredibly knowledgeable about senior living options and serves as an excellent resource for answering all your tough questions. As you walk through the community, you'll immediately sense the warmth and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff and residents. It's clear that the residents here are genuinely happy!

The landing is a lovely assisted living community. The food I've had in the dining room while visiting my inlaws, has been tasty, but what I love the most are the people. The staff there are top notch.
June 2024
The facility itself is one of the best we've ever found for my mother. Management, Activity staff and Nurses are top notch. The issues we've had in the years shes been there are care aids and services listed in brochure are not enforced with aids, therefore not always provided. The floors and general area should have been cleaned, swiffered after a spill or vaciuumed if food is on floor. General housekeeping is supposed to be done by care aids. Bedding thats supposed to be changed 2 - 3 times weekly is not changed that frequntly. This is more a minor complaint, except when her bedding is dirty it should be changed. Mom has had several severe urinary tract infections requiring in hospital treatment. The cause of those infections was that no care aid checked on, changed/toileted her in a very long time. Trying to find a care aid on the floor to help is impossible. I can report to the nurse, but they cannot leave their desk to follow up and verify issues are taken care of. If care aids were working their assigned resident rooms as they are supposed to, they'd be visible in halls. However, the halls are almost always empty. I think a solution could be having aid stay on the aisle of assigned rooms when not busy with tasks necessitating their being off the floor. I believe an enormous help would be creating a position for a Roamer familiar with contract care policy. A Roamer monitoring floors able to enforce tasks, job duties and verify they've been completed correctly would alleviate so many things. No one else can or is doing this. Pressing the call button and asking aide to do something directly is uncomfortable and met sometimes with what feels like irritation, or the other shift was supposed to do that. The activities provided are great. The facility is wonderful. The issues remain with care staff and some of the Med Techs. My sister summed it up well, they are charging Hilton prices but providing Motel 6 care services.

I recently lost a family member. I couldn't be more appreciative to the staff. Thank you for loving us and getting us through this. Much appreciated
April 2024
All I can say is WOW, I had such a wonderful walk through with when looking for a new home for my Mother. The staff was very pleasant and gave me a sense of security with regards to my Moms memory care. I am so glad that I looked past that rant on the reviews, because this is defiantly where my Mom will be going to live when we get closer to her needing the additional care that we will be unable to provide at home. I am overall impressed.

The nursing staff has also been amazing right from the day of the tour to the past few days of getting them settled into the new place. Shante, Michael, Richard, Beatrice and many more have been so kind and willing to help. I appreciate them all as we continue navigating this new Chapter!

December 2020
My Mom has been a resident of The Landing at Watermere Frisco (assisted living) for over three years. The community has been well maintained and Mom's care has been good. The Covid lockdown has not been easy, nor has the inability to retain an Executive Director for any length of time. We are hopeful the new one (Stephanie King) will be able to stick around and provide the continuity that has been missing since Mom arrived. We have been pleased with the friendliness of the caregivers and support staff throughout Mom's time. Overall, my brothers and I are happy with the decision we made for Mom to become part of this community.

Landing at Watermere has such a dedicated staff and management team. It is a wonderful place for your loved ones to live!!
September 2020
Beautiful community in a fantastic location. The team are dedicated to the residents and keeping them engaged, safe and happy. Having a nurse on-site 24/7 was one of the many things that impressed me! This community goes above and beyond.
September 2020
My mom has lived there since November. We had no idea back then that she would be in lock down for six months! My family is so glad she is in such a safe place. We can tell the staff does all they can to let the residents know they are loved and cared for. ’•
September 2020
Like a lot of communities in the metroplex, The Landing At Watermere has had their ups and downs. However, I feel they have pulled the right team together and have thrived over the past two years, since I've known them. They have a highly trained and well staffed clinical team and I would go as far to say probably more than any other Assisted Living that I know of in the area. To support the clinical team there are also several doctors rounding within the community to visit the residents; from internal medicine to psychiatric doctors. This process is easier on the staff, as well as, the families transporting them to external doctors appointments and that's not to mention better for the health and safety of the residents. I feel like The Landing at Watermere checks all the boxes for an assisted living that goes above and beyond to make sure their residents can enjoy staying in and staying safe.
August 2020
My dad lives in Memory Care here. The staff and management go above and beyond for their residents 24/7. They create all kinds of activities for them, the food is amazing and they are soo very kind and caring!! Always working to make the residents feel special and loved while doing their best to also keep them safe during this crazy time! They also show so much love and kindness to all of the families as we walk this walk that we've never walked before with our loved ones!! Daddy is happy there and feels well loved and cared for! There really aren't enough thank you's in the world for that!!! I am grateful every day for the wonderful staff, management and care givers here!!
August 2020
The Landing Team continues to do a great job ensuring that the residents stay safe during Covid. They offer a wide variety of activities to keep the residents busy, great food options and overall care and compassion to meet the residents individual needs.
August 2020
Since our mother arrived there in May 2020 from Rehab we have had a great experience and everyone has been so helpful. A special thank to Kathleen for all she has done since we have had to go back and forth between the Landing and Watermere and now back to the Landing. Mom likes all the activities and social events they have. Would recommend this place
February 2020
Watermere is a possibility for us if my mother-in-law ever needs more help than we can provide ourselves. I like how this community provides all levels of living and care. The staff was friendly, helpful, and engaged. The campus was pretty and clean. I will definitely be keeping this community on the list as we try to plan for future care needs.
January 2020
Fun activities every day for all the residents. Good food and very involved staff.
January 2020
Great Staff. Really care about residents and make sure they are always well taken care of.
January 2020
My parents came to Watermere in 2019 in Assisted Living and later that year my mom moved to Memory Care. There are no words that can express my gratitude and appreciation for the staff as they done everything to make the transitions seamless, while making my parents feel safe and at home!
January 2020
My wife and I both live at The Landing at Watermere so I am familiar with what happens here 24/7. My wife is in memory care and I stay in assisted living to be able to see her often. I know all the managers here and believe they do an incredible job they have helped both my wife and me on many occasions. I also know many of the caregivers, med techs, and nurses. They all have been very good to both of us. We have lived in two similar facilities and they all have their good points and not so good, but this place is by far the best. I certainly would recommend it

I waited to post this review until my father was safely out of there and my last financial credit collected. The Landing at Watermere shows well but the culture is bad. I visited my father frequently during his stay and even hired my own caregivers to sit with him. Thank God we could afford it. There were some rock star employees at the Landing but very few of those stayed and were part of the caregiver staff due what I think was a toxic culture and not corrected from the top(executive director left while my father was there). Two head of nursing also left in one year. There was a lot of negative gossip including cussing/swearing from the Landing caregivers about their peers, my hired caregivers and worst of all the residents. They have technology but it is poorly used. There were countless times when my father's caregiver would press the call button and the Landing employees would be gossiping in the hall while personal radios alerted all to a need. We would have to chase them down. I asked on more than one occasion if response time was measured and got crickets for an answer. I personally saw this same situation many times with other residents - all of this happening on the most expensive highest level of care ! Culture and hiring needs to be corrected from the top and it never was while we were there. In comes a new Executive Director - Byron and he would not meet with me. I never got a response to my emails or calls...until my father left. We spent close to $100,000 in one year for this. Two stars for the cleanliness, friendly and helpful activity and front desk staff.

My mom has been at the Landing at Watermere for 2 years. The day staff are awesome. They all seem to really care about the residents. I don’t know much about the night staff. They have had some great nurses and some not so great They have plenty of activities for the residents. The activity director is awesome. There is , of course, a turnover in management, so I haven’t actually met the new director. The food is a little fancy at times but is apparently good.
