We placed our Aunt at WELLMORE due to her needing help with everyday things. And she needed to attend physical therapy due to a fall. She loves it. She enjoys her room, the food, the activities, and she really likes the staff. That’s one of the most important things to us is she is treated very well by the staff and she appreciates all they do for her. The communication between the staff and us is great. I can always get a hold of someone or get a reply very quickly. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a nice place to have your loved one live .

Recently we were put in a position of having to put our mom in skilled nursing for rehab. With so many options we chose Wellmore and it’s been great this far!!! From day one Brittany and Vickie were very helpful and hands on!!! My mom is getting stronger with a staff that loves doing what they do!! I’m grateful!! The food is pretty good as well!! If you are ever in this position and they are in your network I definitely recommend Wellmore of Daniel island it’s located in a beautiful setting and the staff is always so accommodating .

I came across an very old lady in a motorized wheel chair on the sidewalk by the Wharf 7 apartments on Daniel Island who was inarticulate and lost with her wheel chair out of power. How did this happen?????? This is a seriously dangerous situation. I would never recommend such a facility that allowed this situation to occur.

If anyone reading these reviews is researching memory care facilities in the Charleston, South Carolina area, I strongly suggest you visit Wellmore of Daniel Island. My mother has been a memory care resident at Wellmore of Daniel Island for close to 3 years and I can't say enough good things about my mother's experience there. My mother is extremely well cared for there and continues to lead a very meaningful and very happy life there. Wellmore of Daniel Island has an upbeat, happy vibe to it and the people who work there are really top notch. Special thanks to Deidra Curry who runs the memory care section of Wellmore of Daniel Island. Deidra does a fantastic job and is always there to help my mother and my family. Thank you Deidra! And special thanks also to a young lady named Armani who works in the memory care section of Wellmore of Daniel Island. The team here loves the people who live here and it shows. There are so many caring people in all departments working together to make Wellmore a truly "Weller life" for the Members and for the team working there. When you look at a community for your loved one take note of how the people who work there greet you and your family, but so watch how they interact with each other. A team that treats each other with respect will also treat you and your family with respect..Updating my review more than a year later. Jessica Johnson and Alecia in Social and Wellness are amazing. They bring the joy to the community, it would not be what it is without those two ladies. Alecia’s exercise classes are always packed and the members look forward to attending them every day. I think Quianna in assisted living does an awesome job and I’m so happy for her that she was promoted. She earned that promotion and her experience and training helping the floor team makes such a difference.

I was discharged from Well More, Daniel Island on Saturday BEFORE LAST ! I had broken my hip. They discharged Me With OUT a Walker, Or A Roller Walker, NO CANE NOT Crutches, NOTHING!!! I asked when I got there to have Medicare Provide Me With A Wheel Chair, Didn’t Get ANYTHING !The day I was Discharged they told Me I would Receive A Wheelchair On Tuesday AfTER I Got HOME , TOMORROW Is TUESDAY “A WEEK” Later AND I STILL DONT HAVE A Wheelchair!!!! We Have Called many times, My Nurse has Called Well More, My Therapist’s have Called But NO ONE CAN TELL US Anything !!! I’m VERY Disappointed And Upset With Well More and Staff !!!!

It’s so hard to know where to put your loved one when THAT time comes and believe me when I tell you that I looked high and low , under every rock , every rabbit trail before I found Wellmore of DI. My mom has been in the memory care unit there for 2 years . Memory Care is a special place that requires an incredible staff - one with patience , compassion and a huge heart on top of the skills required to keep the residents safe , happy, and healthy. While Wellmore has always been the right choice for me , I have to say the current staffing is a notch above. They interact with the residents , they laugh with them , and treat them with the utmost care and respect. I believe this comes from the top down & with careful training- Diedre Curry is committed to making this environment the best it can be. She is ALWAYS available , knows the residents and their abilities intimately , is compassionate with both residents and family, in fact , I’d say Deidre is part of our family. Her positive outlook , comforting smile and her leadership are second to none. She has developed a staff that is active and caring . They allow me to be able to be a daughter , a wife, a mother and have my career. A heartfelt thank you for caring about my family. Keep up the great work !!

I have worked in healthcare for thirty years so when I brought my loved one to Wellmore I knew what to expect. I expected delicious, nutritious meals, a knowledgeable staff, a clean environment and activities appropriate for the memory disorder population. I received all of those things yet even more valuable is the care my loved one has received. The staff cares for these patients with such a beautiful kindness that I am reminded of Christ. It is a masterful leader that can bring this many quality staff members together and that person is Deidra Curry. Deidra Curry has put together an outstanding staff. She motivates, mends and manages her team effectively with an ease and grace one cannot teach. Her support during my loved ones’ first week at Wellmore got me through a very difficult time. I’m so thankful for Wellmore Reflections Memory Care! Mom is well taken care of, safe and content. Deidra and her team are doing great things. They put on some really good activities here. They do fun excursions, like to USS Yorktown, on top of the shopping trips for Assisted living. There's themed events at the facility too. I even remember them bringing in a petting zoo and pony ride.

The team at Wellmore is exceptional, from the floor staff to the administration. The facility is immaculate and clean! Communication from the administration is top notch and timely from admission to discharge, and continues if you choose to move in. The administrator, Ryan’s door is always open and he will greet you with a smile. Allison, the social worker, is caring and compassionate and will do anything she can to help you or your loved one find what’s best for your situation. April and Mollie, the DON and ADON, work endlessly to make the place run smooth and safely, are both caring and compassionate, and are always available when needed.

My mother in law lives at Wellmore and is very happy there! She started on their rehab side and moved in afterwards. The rehab care was wonderful and now, on the assisted living side, we see that same care. The staff know her by name, are always willing to help and the PT/OT teams are great! We looked at multiple AL communities and this one by far exceeded all the others.

I toured with my family recently as we were looking for senior living options. Wellmore was by far the most impressive community of all we visited. We were most impressed with the friendly staff, abundance of medical support available for residents and the ability to age in place as needs change. Julie the executive director is the best! She is there seven days a week which makes me feel comfortable with my grandma there. Wholelistically, Wellmore is a great facility. My grandma had an extremely smooth transition thanks to all of the great staff. She has made great friends, enjoyed the food, and can’t get enough of the activities within the social program. Any questions or requests are handled professionally and with urgency by the team.

I went to Wellmore of daniel island with my friend the other day to visit her grandma, and we were both extremely impressed by wellmore. We went to the happy hour with her grandma and the other residents and staff there were so sweet! We had so much fun, and all of the residents seemed so happy there! If I had a grandparent that lived here, I would choose Wellmore for them!

My Father-in-law is absolutely thriving at Wellmore Senior Living. He loves the staff and they all know him. He has a sense of belonging. My beloved great-great aunt was placed at Wellmore of Daniel Island, a location blessed with stunning views, particularly appealing to golf enthusiasts. As a healthcare professional myself, I initially harbored reservations about such facilities, given the unsettling stories I've encountered. However, my concerns were swiftly dispelled at Wellmore. I encountered what I can only describe as an earthly angel: Nurse Tabitha (I regret not knowing her surname) from admissions. Her kindness and competence were exceptional. She patiently and warmly addressed every question and worry my family and I had, reassuring us with her infectious smile. She set an incredibly high standard, and I am deeply grateful for her presence that day. I can only hope and pray that she continues to grace Wellmore with her care and compassion. Thank you

After an unfortunate fall in her home, my mother required several weeks of in-patient, sub-acute rehab services. The medical staff at MUSC strongly recommended Wellmore - and the recommendation was certainly well-deserved. The relatively new facility is visually appealing - well decorated and with ample natural light. Additionally, while my mother may not have taken advantage of all of the amenities available (e.g., exercise & PT rooms, dining room, common spaces, indoor pool), it left a very favorable impression on her (and me) that they were at her disposal. With respect to the staff and the treatment that was provided, our experience was also very positive. While slightly more structure to her day would have been appreciated (as I understand is to be expected with sub-acute rehab), the professionalism of the team and the care provided was highly appreciated. The Wellmore care team responsible for my mother's treatment were attentive, highly respectful and available to address all needs and issues.

A dear friend recently moved into Wellmore’s Assisted Living after a health decline. She thrived from the minute she joined the community as she was graciously welcomed, quickly met new friends and had a full social calendar. I enjoyed joining her at Wellmore’s afternoon Happy Hour for a glass of wine and live music. Most importantly, she was well cared for and very much loved by the nursing staff, especially as her care needs progressed. We are so thankful for the wonderful community and staff at Wellmore of Daniel Island. After an extended illness, my father is now thriving and enjoying his new normal. Not only does Wellmore DI offer a beautiful residential setting, but the staff are so amazing, kind and supportive. While we never expected to end up at assisted living, it has truly been a lifesaver and provided such an improved quality of life, not only for my father, but also for all of our family members who know he is in good hands when we can't get there to visit. The convenience of the services offered on-site, restaurant-style dining, group exercise classes and variety of activities truly provide the ultimate quality of life with as much or little assistance as you need or want. The residents are also all so kind, accomplished and have become an extension of our family over the last 6 months. Thank you Wellmore!

All I can say is WOW!! I broke my back and after surgery and some time in the hospital I needed rehab before being allowed to go home. Having no idea where to go, Wellmore was suggested as an option. The several weeks I was there was truly amazing. From the nursing staff to administration to the social workers and the exceptional therapists that helped me walk and function normally again...all top shelf. If you need rehab there is only one place to go in the Charleston South Carolina area and that is Wellmore of Daniel Island.

I am a music therapist who visits the Wellmore regularly. I visit many facilities and the Wellmore is one of the best! I work closely with the life enrichment team and they do an amazing job of providing daily activities that provide routine, stimulation and joy. The facility is clean, well appointed and the staff has always been attentive during my visits. As a contractor, I find the Wellmore to be professional and easy to work with. I would recommend to anyone looking for care for their loved ones!

I currently live at Wellmore, and have enjoyed my time. I really enjoy the food in the restaurant. The therapy team does a great job helping me out, and the staff here is great. I enjoy the other friendly people that live here, and I’d highly recommend others to move here as well.

Erin is a very professional employee. She was wonderful when I moved into Wellmore. She never fails to smile, ask how we are doing and always is very kind to us. She is an asset to Wellmore and very personable. She is just a beautiful person.

Our team (Lowcountry Pianist & Company LLC) enjoys visiting the Wellmore a few times per month for music entertainment! There are many wonderful things I could say about the Wellmore but I especially appreciate how kind and interactive their staff are with the residents. They create such a positive, caring environment and I always look forward to being a part of it!

My mother in law has been at Wellmore for about 4 months. Things seemed great at first, but we are getting more and more concerned for her welfare as the days go by. This weekend, a nursing assistant took away her call button that she wears around her neck because she needs assistance with mobility and the woman became agitated with my mother in law. Also there have been incidents where we've had to report incidences of rough handling and disrespectful treatment, such as being awoken very early in the morning with being yelled and grabbed. She's also had an aide fall asleep in a chair in her room, to the point of snoring. All we've heard about is staffing shortages, while they still seem to have plenty of time to converse on their phones and each other. There have been many cases of misunderstandings with her medications and health care. The food initially was good, now it's barely edible. The PT and OT departments have been great. If things don't change, I don't know if we can leave our loved one at this place. I feel like after they got us to sign up, their work was done.

My husband was admitted to Memory Care at Wellmore on April 7, 2022. He is still in an adjustment period and the staff are very attentive to his needs. My husband does not always like to participate in activities; however, the Activity Director(s) have been extremely creative with individualizing activities which make him feel useful and/or afford him to be outside where he loves to be. He has been in no other placement where this much effort has been exhibited by staff (to include administrative) to ensure a successful placement. The staff stay in contact with me and frequently send me pictures of him when he is participating in meaningful events. This gesture is very much appreciated. I have also been pleased with how quickly they communicate with me if I have questions or suggestions regarding my husband's care. If you are seeking placement for your loved one, please take a tour at Wellmore before you make your final decision.

My mother had a massive stroke at 91 and was completely independent prior. She is now at Wellmore in skilled nursing. She is not an easy resident, not because of her personality, but because of her the deficits the stroke left her with. Mama is non verbal, can not write and can only communicate with her expressions. She has no use of her right side so she can not walk or transfer herself. The staff at The Wellmore have been so kind and patient to get to know mom’s needs and how to read her expressions to meet her needs. They make sure she is dressed and fluffed. They move her from one place to another and engage her with kind words. If I do have an issue the management team is quick to respond. The management team has also, worked tirelessly with me on the hurdles of her Medicare plan. The nursing staff and medical team listen to my concerns and adjust as we see new things come up. Physical therapy has been wonderful and thinks outside the box. The food has been good and Mama eats everything on her plate (I have had to bring fresh vegetables and salads to supplement to get more roughage in her). All in all for our unique situation, Wellmore has met our needs! Many thanks to their team!

My mother was well cared for while living at Wellmore in Assisted Living for 11 months. The staff decorated her room for Christmas, and with balloons and flowers when she turned 102 in July 2021.They always made it a point to help her choose her outfits for the day and spent time visiting in her room. Mom enjoyed using the gym for physical therapy for the first 6 months until her declining health kept her mostly bed ridden. (She passed in August 2021). She often commented on the sunny attractiveness of her room and the dining area, and enjoyed sitting outside on the front terrace.We only wish we'd known about Wellmore sooner since she would have been able to avail herself of more of Wellmore's programs such as water aerobics and lectures.We would recommend Wellmore to anyone who asks.

My mom blossomed the moment she entered Well-More. The staff is so kind and made a special effort to incorporate her and introduce her to other women they thought she would bond with. The stimulation and interaction with people changed the course she had been on (living alone and not seeing many people). I highly recommend taking a look at this place if you are looking for assisted/independent living!

My mother just returned to Wellmore after being at a couple of other facilities and back in her own home over the last few years. We were warmly welcomed and the move in process was organized and helpful. I would highly recommend Wellmore to anyone looking for a facility for their loved one.

We just wanted to drop you all a short note to thank you again for the care and support you gave Mom over her year at Wellmore. We don't have all the emails of the people in PT, OT, MedTech and staff that helped over the past year so please pass this on. Your efforts made a difficult time for Mom and our family the last year more bearable and thanks to you and your team's efforts, we are confident that Mom's last year was the best that it could have been. We already miss seeing all of the staff and residents during our daily visits. We look forward to having an opportunity to come and visit and offer our personal thanks to everyone soon. I am a licensed CRCF Administrator. Jessica Singletary and her team make every resident and family member feel special. When you walk into Wellmore you are greeted with smiling faces. The community is beautiful and the residents are very happy. I would definitely put Wellmore on your list to tour if you are looking for senior living options.
