Morningside TerraBella of Gastonia has been a great experience for our mother and family. The staff is eager to assist you and always with a smile. Our mother has been a resident since May 2025. Currently she has been in another rehab facility for two months due to a fall, but is returning next week to her extended Morningside family. Amy, Joy and Kim have kept in touch in regards to mother’s progress and have made it easy to transition mother back. While no assisted community is perfect, these ladies along with all the other staff work hard to keep the residents safe, clean, feed, entertained and happy. We can’t wait to get mother settled back in at MSTG.

My father has been a resident in this community since September 1, 2025. Placing him in an assisted living facility was not an easy decision; however, I have to say the staff really made this a smooth transition. The care and attention that the nursing staff provide is exceptional. I do have issues with this facility not letting the residents return home from being in hospital on weekends. This is their home and no one wants to stay in hospital or pay for another night just due to paperwork. I understand the facility has its rules but it is heartbreaking for a resident not to get to return to their home when they want to. The food could use some improvement as well. We have experienced cold food and lack of food supply. I will say that the food issue has been addressed and we are praying it gets fixed.

Morningside is a blessing! My mom is getting the Best care and love! The staff looks after her with a giving spirit and have been so quick to let me know of any concerns or needs my mom may have. The facility is beautiful and clean! They also plan many extra events to celebrate special days and holidays so that the residents feel included. I just feel like they go the extra mile!! I absolutely love this community. The staff is exceptional, they treat their residents with kindness and respect, and make us feel like we are part of the family. The management team is wonderful and very helpful when it comes to solving any issues, the care team is quick and responsive, and every other part of the staff is great too. Dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, they are all wonderful. This place is a really good fit for my mother, and we couldn’t imagine her anywhere else. Thank you, Morningside!

As caregivers to my grandmother, my husband and I toured this facility, and after the tour, we looked at each other and said, 'We would live here ourselves!' Such a warm atmosphere from the facility to the staff. Joy Wiley was such a help to our family, even after our grandmother fell and broke her hip and needed to go into a nursing/rehabilitation facility, and was unable to move into an assisted living facility. Joy consistently called and checked in on us and my grandmother, to be sure we were ok, and if there was anything she could do to help. NO OTHER facility even checked back with us after we toured them. In the end, my grandmother's health ended up declining very rapidly, and Joy helped us by offering to call her contact with Hospice. We were in such a state of panic about what to do next, and she calmly helped us navigate the next step. We will forever be grateful to Joy and will always recommend Morningside of Gastonia, as it was our #1 choice, even though our grandmother wasn't able to move in.

Through a Place for Mom, we were directed to Morningside. On very short notice, I was able to secure a room and move my Mother on 1/6/25. It was a rainy, cold Monday, and moving all her furniture and clothes, plus getting her settled into a new home, was challenging to say the least. Her new bed frame and mattress arrived at 3:45 PM. After a hard day, my next task was to assembly her bed. I cannot thank Joy and Amy enough for asking Hortensia, the lady in charge of maintenance, to help us. She started working on the bed frame, while I sat and tried to explain to my Mother what was going on, and why she was here. I took her on to dinner, where we continued to talk, and when we returned to her room, the bed was in place with the mattress on top, ready for sheets and comforter. I just about cried when I saw that. Backing out of her driveway for the last time in almost 68 years was so sad, and hard. To have ALL of these kind employees who helped us that day, from getting her a grilled cheese sandwich and chips, to welcoming her with open arms and offers to help in any way possible, we thank you all so much! I recently visited Morningside of Gastonia during my search for an assisted living facility for my mother. I have visited several facilities and spoken to numerous people during this journey, but Morningside has a real gem in Joy. I truly appreciate her honesty and the wealth of information that she provided me during my search. When I first reached out there were no rooms immediately available at Morningside. Joy let me know this at the time of my initial inquiry, but she still provided me an opportunity to take an immediate tour just in case things changed. She met with me the following day and thoroughly answered all of my questions. She was very sincere and empathetic with my situation. I was extremely impressed by the staff that I was introduced to me, the quality of the location and the amenities that were offered to the residents. Although no rooms were available, Joy continued to stay in contact with me to answer my questions and to see if I was able to find somewhere for my mother. That truly meant something to me because one of my biggest priorities was making sure that I felt comfortable with the staff and administration and not feeling like just a number. You want to know that your loved one is safe when you are not around. Joy's level of attentiveness throughout this process was unmatched and I would encourage anyone to consider Morningside of Gastonia for their loved ones.

Searching for the right assisted living facility for a loved one is never easy and can be stressful. Recently, I had the opportunity to tour Morningside Of Gastonia while looking for a place for my mother. From making the appointment to touring the facility, everything went seamlessly. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and was impressed with the well- maintained and casual comfort of the facility. I met with the Community Relations Director, Joy Wiley. Her wealth of knowledge and compassion for her job took the stress I was feeling out of the equation. She was patient with all of my questions and detailed with her answers. After our meeting, Joy has reached out on several occasions just to follow up and always promptly returns my phone calls. Her professionalism, accessibility, and dedication to Morningside Of Gastonia is a huge asset. She not only cares for the well-being of her residents but also puts the families’ concerns in high regard as well which is very beneficial and comforting as they prepare and choose a trusted place for their loved one. I was also impressed with the friendliness and longevity of many of the staff members. Morningside of Gastonia does not disappoint!

I am so pleased with my experience at Morningside. I helped my sister move in two weeks ago and it has been a stress free and care-filled experience. Joy has been a delight to work with and All the staff have been helpful and friendly to me and my sister. She is settling in well and I am so relieved to have her at such a loving place. I have enjoyed the service I have received from Morningside in regard to helping me move my aunt into the facility. The young Spanish lady over maintenance is AMAZING. She is so helpful and kind. My dad needed assisted living for quite a while but was very resistant to the idea. After a hospitalization and rehab a couple of months ago, I talked him into trying Morningside's "respite stay" program for a couple of weeks. This option is available to all and is a great way to introduce a loved one to assisted living in general and to a specific facility. Well, let me tell you, once my dad got to Morningside, he didn't want to leave! He moved in permanently after his respite stay, and is so much safer and happier there. What we love: Dad is able to be more mobile (mostly in a wheelchair; his home was two-story and very difficult to navigate). In addition, he now has options to socialize and participate in activities that weren't previously available to him, including outings to restaurants, shopping, and sight-seeing day trips. The staff ” both medical and administrative ” are compassionate, attentive and very responsive to my dad's needs. They've quickly and very satisfactorily addressed any and all concerns we've had. In fact, they've bent over backward to accommodate us at every turn. If you are looking for assisted living for your loved one, please consider Morningside. From our research and experience thus far, you won't find a better facility in our area. Everyone there is so kind and caring, and my dad's life has been immeasurably enriched by being among them.

As a family, we don't have to worry about her as we did when she lived alone - and that is such a relief. Morningside is amazing! My dad is in good hands all day and every day. Each team is loving, kind, and compassionate. I'd reached out to others like Brookdale and Terrace Ridge and Joy was the ONLY one that responded swiftly, offering a resolution and advice for my stressful situation. She is amazing and will go over and beyond to help you make the best decision for your relative. When you visit Morningside, you are greeted and everyone has a smile on their face like they really enjoy being there. I feel good placing my grandmother at Morningside and she herself is pleased with the staff and living quarters. My mom has been a resident almost a year. The staff haa gone above and beyond throughout Covid. She has made friends and enjoyed the fellowship, activities, etc. prior to Covid. She can't wait for them to restart. Her care has been impeccable from the nursing staff to the cafeteria staff, office staff, and everyone in between.

My mother moved to Morningside in 2017, and it was the best decision we have ever made. We no longer lose sleep over if she’s safe or eating or taking her medications properly. The staff is wonderful and has remained consistent which adds another layer of comfort, knowing that familiar faces are there for mom each day, Mom’s social life is full with a variety of activities to choose from, bingo and bridge club are her two favorites. But she also enjoys the weekly outings, and live entertainment. We couldn’t be happier with Morningside of Gastonia, it is awesome!!

My mother lived at Morningside for seven years. She received an outstanding level of care. Those who cared for my mother treated her as a loved family member. They respected her desire for privacy, but provided what she needed. Yes, there is always some staff turnover at assisted living facilities, but many of the staff were there the whole time my mother was a resident. These jobs are demanding and don't pay well; the women (mostly) who do them see their work as ministry and exhibit patience and compassionate care for the elderly with physical and or cognitive limitations. My mother was a very private person and I feared that she would resist when she needed help with showering. But because of the relationship she had with the aide who helped her, my mother accepted the help. The staff has an uncanny knack for detecting UTIs and were correct every time they alerted me to the possibility. The facility is well kept and renovated regularly to keep it attractive and pleasant. It has a pleasant courtyard with birds and flowers and trees, which my mother enjoyed in her early years there. My mother enjoyed meal time the best. She liked the food and the social contact. She often arrived early and the dining staff would give her crackers and a cup of coffee and talk with her as they set up for the meal. Yes, Morningside provides activities and various amenities, but it is the people who work there who make it a facility with outstanding care. I am grateful for the care my mother received.

My Mom has lived in Morningside for 6 years and my Dad lived there for 9 months. The staff is so professional and helpful. They were so caring to Dad and have taken excellent care of Mom. The people that work there are so creative and come up with great activities for the residents. Last week they had a carnival. They have an excellent variety in food and it tastes great. Now they have a rehab facility at the site to help the residents. I can't say enough about how great this place is for seniors.
