I'm not sure what is going on here, but since it opened the service and menu options have declined and the prices have skyrocketed. Since I wrote this I have had communication with the director, chef, and bistro manager. Two days after the meeting no dinner was delivered. The chef is rude and unprofessional. He won't speak to my mom since the meeting. A few more times dinner hasn't been delivered to my mom. This is inexcusable. She moved from a $7000 two bedroom to a one bedroom. For the prices paid I expect better meal options and services.

Our parents lived at StoryPoint for 4 years. The StoryPoint and Laurus staff were outstanding. Not only were they caring and compassionate, they were flexible and accommodating to the ever changing care needs for our aging parents. With our Mother's illness, they seamlessly integrated hospice care (Corso Care) into our parent's daily care plan while maintaining close communication with our family.

Update: It’s now a year later and we are so happy our mother is at StoryPoint. They really care for their elderly and go out of their way to make their days joyous ones. Our mother went from being angry at her old facility to being happy and calm here. We moved our mother here based on conversations we had with a good friend that is employed there. We found that everything she said was in fact true. The staff are ALL very nice and willing to help regardless of their "job". They go above and beyond to ensure your loved one is well taken care of. The entire staff is caring, this was very evident while moving our mother in. She was a little upset and the the caregiver that was with her easily calmed her down by using a soft, calming voice. It was apparent to me that they really do care for each resident as if they were their own family member. Everyone we met while moving mother in was exceptionally knwoledgeable, helpful, understanding and most of all welcoming. We couildn't ask for a better place for our mother to call home. We highly recommend StoryPoint!

My mom and dad both lived at Story Point. My dad passed 21 months ago and the staff and everyone in the facility were excellent. They love their residents. My mother just passed this last week and she got absolutely the best care and the Corso Care Hospice along with the Laurus caregivers allowed my mom to pass with dignity without suffering and they took care of us the family. There is so many activities groups coming in Bible studies devotions places to go and all in a beautiful fresh bright and loving setting. Thank you❤️

Our family moved our father to Storypoint in April, 2021, and we moved him out at the end of June. Was was a very traumatizing experience for my father and for all family members. The memory care unit is very short staffed, often with just one care giver for 20 residents. It is hard to keep all residence safe when the ratio is 20 to 1. My father, who is wheel chair/ bed bound, suffered falls, etc. Many of the caregivers there pulled me aside and apologized for the short staffing and the inability to take care of the residents. My father is on hospice and each time there was an incident regarding my father his case manager documented it, as required by law. Unfortunately, Story Point did NOT.....no record to be found. When hospice staff inquired, the response was, "there was no incident". We learned a big lesson.....the way things "look" and the way things "are" are two very different things. I believe the independent living side is fine and perhaps assisted living, but memory care is not. Please do not send your loved one to memory care at Story point. Our Father is now at North Woods Village and it is night and day!! They are staffed, competent, kind, and extremely caring. We feel very, very blessed that we are able to get dad into this wonderful facility.

StoryPoint Portage is very welcoming and beautiful. Every time I visit, I am greeted with a smile. I love that all of the staff say Hi to all of their residents and that you can watch meals being prepared. I enjoy looking at all of the fun they have on their FB page. I must say that Chelsie, on the Housekeeping team, has been so kind to my Mom! Not only does she do a great job cleaning, but she goes above and beyond - like graciously helping find an earring that has fallen on the floor, or finding a phone that has fallen out of eyesight. The Dining Room manager, Laurie, has been kind to our family as well. She has accommodated our family in finding a spot for us to have a gathering. She is always quick with a smile, and will take a minute to visit. It is the employees of StoryPoint, that work day in and out, to make lives better for the residents. We are thankful for all that you do!

We recently moved my Father into StoryPoint of Portage and we are very impressed with the whole team from the front desk, leasing agent, maintenance, activities team to the cleaning staff. They work hard everyday to assist the residences and families of their residences. The team at StoryPoint of Portage are friendly, helpful and follow thru on the commitments they make. It is the first time I can leave town knowing my father (I am using my Daughters google account to write this) is safe, will be taken care of and will have things to do with friends, a huge relief from him living alone like before. The place is clean, the food is good and they are improving things all the time. My dad has met lots of new friends who are the same age, and is learning there are others like him dealing with the same things as you age. There are plenty of activities, outings and special programs for residents to keep them moving, engaged and have a great quality of life. I am so glad we choose Story Point of Portage! To the team there, THANK YOU for making a difference and working so hard to make StoryPoint what it is!!

It is not perfect but the directors and the staff truly works hard to address every need and issue. StoryPoint is constantly working to improve in any way it can to better serve its residents. Residents are constantly checking in on each other and really care about one another. Being an employee here, it feels like a home away from home. A little over a year ago my wifes mother was at just the right point in her life to benefit from a place like StoryPoint of Portage. Her doctor recommended she eat healthy, stay physically active, and stay socially active. We saw the potential for all three at StoryPoint of Portage. Over the past 15 months of living in independent living at StoryPoint of Portage my mother-in-law has truly benefited from the very tasty and nutritious dinners, the ability to stay physically active via structured exercise opportunities nearly every day of the week, and the chance to interact daily with dozens of her new and friendly peers. Over the past 15 months my wife and I have also appreciated meeting and getting to know the StoryPoint of Portage staff. We have consistently been treated with genuine interest and respect and we have observed on every occasion my mother-in-law being treated in a similar manner.
