Hamza helped me find the right apartment set me up with a perfect plan. They helped us with all the documentation from whitehall which was not easy. Gayle and I felt as if we were already living here the way we were treated. Warmth, understanding, a recognition of we were going through a big transition and Hamza made us incredibly peaceful. No pressure, informative, caring and responsive to our understandably nervous questions. Hamza introduced us to the dinning room where we met Emily and Thomas, we ate here, we enjoyed it and as a pastor I have heard that the quality of food indicates the quality of care. We took a tour a few weeks ago looking for a memory care place for my mother. We heard wonderful things from friends who had parents in the facility. Hamza took us around, he was great. We met other staff who seemed very engaged with the residents, the facility was clean, welcoming and made you feel like it was home. We stopped at this facility to get more information about moving a loved one in, in the very near future. It was a Saturday and we were fortunate to get the Executive Director (Cindy). She took so much time with us and answered all of our questions and showed us several room options. We never felt rushed and she gave us a very detailed tour of the campus. It is a beautiful place, with a lot of amenities and resources. She mentioned the recent changes they have made, with activities and dining, which have been positively received by the residents. Although we haven’t moved anyone in there yet, we do have a deposit down and plan to in the future when the time is right.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Green Oaks Senior Living on multiple occasions, and every experience has been a positive one. Their care team is truly exceptional-compassionate, attentive, and dedicated to providing high-quality support for their residents. Faviola, the Director of Nursing, is outstanding. I first met her when she was a nurse, and her growth into a leadership role comes as no surprise. She brings both clinical expertise and genuine care to everything she does, which really shows in the way the team operates. With my background in activities, I also pay close attention to engagement-and Green Oaks does a fantastic job. Their activity calendar is always full of fun, meaningful events. Recently, they hosted an amazing entertainer, and the room was completely full-residents were engaged, smiling, and clearly enjoying themselves.

I appreciated everything about the Green Oaks Senior Living home. Mom joined the Memory care family at the age of 94. She was met with endless respect and love. Under the guidance of Debbie Gross, mom and our family enjoyed the caring staff, the interesting and engaging programs, and the exceptional communications. I personally attended many of the programs and always got a kick out of the laughter and joy the residents experienced. Debbie and her well oiled team gave our family the peace of mind needed in navigating mom’s aging years. Having come from another senior facility where quality care was at times negligent, our family was acutely aware of not only what we wanted, but how vulnerable this population can be. We scrutinized several facilities before selecting Green Oaks Senior Living. No facility is perfect, but by far this one has what it takes to be exceptional. My favorite part was the supportive and caring culture I felt by all the staff within the entire building. So refreshing!

Love this place! The decor is fabulous. Hats off to the interior designer. I feel well taken care of by all the staff, who are always friendly and caring. Have made many new friends. One suggestion: Follow the lead of other Senior Centers. Offer valet services Monday through Friday. It is difficult to get doctors' appointments on certain days now. The appointments can be months out if you ask for a particular day.

My Mother-in-Law spent 3 years in the Green Oaks memory care and just passed away with severe dementia, the last approximately 3 months. Our family is extremely thankful for the great staff, many We would consider as Angels or Saints. They treated Mom with DIGNITY, COMPASSION, RESPECT, and GENUINE LOVE. The nurses and medical staff were always attentive with great communication skills when our family had questions or Mom had an ailment. The facility was clean with a pretty lake to take Mom for a walk, indoor meeting rooms/areas to visit with Mom outside the Memory Care area, and everything we could ask for. The staff would try their best to engage and provide activities, not an easy task with dementia patients. On the night Mom passed, we greatly appreciated the support for Mom and our Family. Thank You Green Oaks Staff.

Ever hear the expression, beauty is only skin deep? This is a lovely facility. The building, rooms, landscaping, everything looks wonderful and peaceful. However, our experience with Green Oaks from the spring of 2023 through the spring of 2024 were tumultuous, to be kind. Turnover is high, even at the upper levels. During our time, they got a new director, and two new business managers. These changes in leadership were not communicated except for flyers that were distributed to the mailboxes of residents (not helpful for memory care). My mother-in-law's long term insurance claims were routinely filed late, or filed incorrectly. Late fees would then be assessed to us, and a great deal of work was required to get them reversed. Another important thing to understand about these all-in-one places is that most everything is the same about the memory care wing, with the addition of secured doors and more staff supervision. The actual programming in memory care was often inferior to that of the folks in assisted living. Your parent will probably be quite happy here if they are in independent or assisted living. However, I would ask a lot of questions about memory care and carefully consider whether you want a facility that specializes in it should your parent start to suffer from moderate-to-severe dementia.

My father moved to independent living at Green Oaks Senior Living in the summer of 2022. He unfortunately passed away 15 months later, but not a week went by that he didn't thank me for finding this place for him. He was so happy at Green Oaks, and had nothing bad to say. The front desk staff genuinely cared about him and missed him if he didn't show up at breakfast. They checked on him, brought him his mail or a meal if he wasn't feeling well, and fostered a sense of community that extended even to me as a family member. Sheri does a great job of keeping everyone active, with organized activities every day for the body, the mind, the soul, and social connections. The janitorial staff always had smiles for my dad and were willing to help him hang pictures or fix anything he needed. I visited at least once or twice a week and the entire place always looked spotless, with cozy fires in the fireplace and puzzles in process on tables. There were almost always little huddles of friends chatting in corners. My father gave up driving just before moving here - but he didn't miss it. There were always trips organized in the Green Oaks van to anywhere he wanted to go (medical appointments, grocery stores, outings, etc). He loved his apartment, and his view of the lake out the back was beautiful. He enjoyed fishing off the pier when he was up to it. There is also a wonderful one-mile trail around a bigger lake right next to Green Oaks if you want more nature. It is less than 10 min drive to just about any kind of shopping, restaurant or service he would ever need, close to the VA hospital as well as 3 other excellent hospitals, and just off the expressway for easy access to downtown Chicago. Green Oaks gave my dad a fantastic last year of life, and we recommend this place to anyone.

My decision to move my father to Green Oaks from another highly regarded senior living arrangement in Norridge was not one made lightly. In the previous facility he had navigated through their multiple tiers of service to the nursing wing. While he was well cared for and looked after, the crowded hospital-floor-like environment was not at all what I wanted for him at the end of his life. It was the Covid lockdown and he was safe and cared for. I set aside my guilt. A year later I connected with Susan Weisbond at Green Oaks. I was completely unaware that my father still had options. Susan introduced me to the much more robust and capable memory care team at Green Oaks and their facility. I was floored. The building looked new. My father could have his own room again, with a window view out to a beautiful pond. The spaces are warm, inviting and ample. Nothing is crowded. People are smiling. This is what I wanted for my dad in his last days. Since moving him in June the love and care he has received from the staff has been amazing. Jennifer Grupe, the Memory Care manager is attentive and resourceful. She will roll up her sleeves and is a fantastic leader. Team members Jaz, Ella and Vanessa have been especially wonderful to my dad and have formed tight bonds with him that I thought not possible in this type of care setting. I see these staffers sharing that same level of love, compassion and care with all the residents. It restores my peace of mind and assures me my fathers last days will be content and comfortable. I couldn’t be more thrilled. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have now lived in Green Oaks Senior Living in Libertyville for three plus years, and we love it here. Our director, David Williams cares about our needs and health. During the pandemic he has made sure that we stay safe, while meeting our social needs as best as possible. Our Chef and cooks try very hard to make sure our meals are delicious, and we have a variety of choices. Social directors, maintenance staff, and servers are caring and work very hard to keep us happy and safe. We are a family of residents that truly love and care for each other. They are truly professional and were extremely helpful in this difficult time. We looked at several really nice units and picked one we knew my mom would love.
