We just moved our 83 year old mother here from the East Coast- there were lots of stressors and challenges however Melissa Cecil and her team were always calm, professional and clear with options, tours and responses. When visiting, all of the staff were always polite, friendly and accommodating. Never an eye roll, sneer or sighs in their responses. Not only were the staff nice, the residents themselves all have a good vibe and aura which speaks to their care. The rooms themselves are very new, nicely finished and safe. There are windows with bright lighting, nice paintings and fixtures and modern feeling. Since she has moved in, she has recovered more care (many mobile services) than the last decade. The food is consistently delicious with excellent service/ mom is making friends and getting into a routine and is happy thus far after almost 3 weeks. I would highly recommend speaking with Ms Cecil and would encourage anyone to tour and see with their own eyes. When it’s time for me to move to assisted living, I would choose here- there is also independent living and memory care. Look at the reviews visit and make your decision but I have nothing but positive feedback for Acoya Mesa

Acoya Mesa is top notch! I had to find a place for my folks and found this place as well as many more. The search was on. When I first stepped into Acoya Mesa, I was instantly impressed. I'm not new to the assisted living scene as my mother in law was in a few here in Utah. One of the biggest advantages is that when my folks need to go from independent living to assisted living, they don't have to move out of the apartment that they are currently in. Everyone I met when I was there was super nice and welcoming. All of the residents I spoke with had nothing but great things to say. And Melissa, there aren't enough words to sum her up properly. She is awesome and the absolute bomb of a resource. I visited a bunch of other places in the same price and category range with Acoya coming out on top every single time on every single amenity. I only gave them 5 stars because there aren't anymore available!!

I recently visited Acoya Mesa to see a dear friend of mine. From the moment I walked in the door, I was so impressed. I was greeted at the front and welcomed. I was invited to stay and have lunch with my friend. The food was so good; I wasn't expecting that. The customer service from the dining room staff was five-star. I was watching not only the dining room staff but also the care staff interact with the seniors. I was impressed with their compassionate approach. You could see that they truly cared about them. I had a wonderful lunch, but also left knowing that my friend is being well taken care of.

This review is regarding the concierges at Acoya Mesa. My mom has been a resident here for 2+ years and all the folks at the front desk are awesome. I recently toured 7 different facilities, looking for a place for my mother-in-law and quickly realized that the concierges at Acoya are a step above! At Acoya I am always acknowledged upon entering with a warm greeting. Any questions or concerns I have are attentively received and action is taken to address them. My mom always has a story about a positive interaction she has experienced. I wish I had all their names so I could recognize each of them individually. Sarah and Miley are two, but each of them deserve honorable mention. Thank you, Acoya, for recognizing the importance of this job and finding folks who really make a difference. I don't know how they remember all the names and details of all the residents, but it really makes our family feel comfort. Thank you!

Mom moved from a 55+ community to Acoya Mesa about a year and a half ago. The deal was sealed as soon as we met Sara Hensinger. Sara was so welcoming and provided all the knowledge we needed to decide on Acoya. We were full of questions and Sara treated us like friends from the moment we met her. If not for Sara, we may have chosen somewhere else. Since then Sara has gotten to know me and my family by greeting us at events we’ve attended at Acoya with mom. Mom is not savvy with her phone and Sara offered to send me photos of several special events like the petting zoo day, The Senior prom and a sketch of mom done by a sketch artist that visited Acoya. Sara truly loves my mom and is always complimenting her. I often stop to see Sara while visiting mom to catch up and say hi. I have dinner with mom often on my way home from work and have witnessed the dining room staff treating other residents as well a mom with great service. Carl and Lori in the dining area also go out of their way to make sure the food and service are well done. Mom likes the menu options available just like a restaurant. Thank you Acoya for taking excellent care of my mother.

My grandma lives here in the memory care unit. The building is gorgeous with lots of natural light and modern styling. However, I've often observed staff sitting around while residents needed care. For example, I observed one woman who feel asleep while watching TV start slump forward until she was about to fall out of her chair. I notified the staff and they came over to assist her. I can only know how to staff treats my Grandma when I’m there watching her. I don't completely trust them to deliver great care when I’m not there.

I have been a resident at Acoya Mesa for almost two years. I have found the staff to be attentive, compassionate, and upbeat. Specifically, I want to mention a couple stand-out incidents. I have received several unplanned, no purpose, visits from Melissa (executive director) to my apartment! She just stopped by to say hi and visit. This was not when I first arrived, but after being here for over a year. We had delightful discussions and it really touched me that she took the time to visit. Another unexpected and pleasant experience was a recent interaction with Corie, the Revere Care Culinary Director. He prepares a spice blend that is on each table in the dining room. I have a medical condition that can benefit from having ginger and turmeric in my diet. I asked Corie if his spice blend contained either. Unfortunately, no. However, the next time I saw Corie, he had prepared a ginger and turmeric spice bottle for me. Wow! This is really going above and beyond.

My mom lived at Acoya on Brown Rd. for approximately three years, She started with independent living and was safe, comfortable and happy, After several years, she needed more assisted services. The transition was seamless and the communications always good. In her final weeks, working with Hospice, was also a beautiful transition. The Acoya staff, and I mean all staff, was amazing. They all said they were Jan's favorite and genuinely loved and professionally cared for her. Melissa Cecil, the executive director, has created a great team of service-oriented people. We love Acoya and so did Mom. She always said, "They are all so hard working." A virtue she admired. She loved the beautiful "main entry way, gathering place, cafe, grand piano" area. She loved the high ceilings and the chandelier. She'd go sit there enjoying the beauty and watching the comings and goings of people. She said it was beautiful and relaxing. She loved the Hair Salon and Linda, and the gorgeous second floor activity rooms. She loved her beautiful room and how clean everything always was. She thanked us for finding a beautiful, clean place for her because she felt like a Queen. She loved that even the "Office workers" would stop and say hi or a quick chat. She loved the food and the Dietary Staff were her "friends and helpers". She always said, "They brighten my day with their smiles!" She loved chatting and spending time with Chef Cory. She'd say, "Cheers me up when I need a boost". RN Sheree was another favorite. She loved Sheree and told us "My dear Friend visited me earlier today" She also loved her visits from Melissa. She said, "She's so kind and friendly and takes time out to visit with me!" Acoyas staff all care about the residents and want to meet all of their needs. The Caregivers and Med Techs are patient, gentle and kind. They made Mom feel like her needs were not a burden. The Housekeeping Staff does a perfect job keeping everything clean and at the same time being friendly and respectful to the residents. Their smiles and willingness to go out of their way to help is amazing. The Maintenance staff are quick to reply to questions and needs. They are also understanding of geriatrics and put the residents at ease. The Front Desk Concierges, like Miley and Sarah, are sweet and helpful, not only to Mom but to us with our many questions! She later went into Memory Care and was cared for by very kind, happy, respectful caregivers. Jessica and her staff are remarkable. Mom told us how they made her feel so loved. And all of us felt like they were family. It was a difficult time but Acoya helped us with their attention, love and smiles. They gave Mom excellent care and she loved them all. (Virginia's Family.)

My loved one is in memory care now for 10 months. The facility is top notch. The staff all cares so much about the residents and I feel so comforted in knowing he is there and being taken care of. My only concern is why they don't get their washer and dryers fixed in memory care. Of the 10 months of having my loved one there, the washer has been broken for 8 months. The staff has to go to a different part of the facility to do laundry. When I toured the facility I loved the idea that the laundry machines were right there and there was very little chance that the residents items could be mixed up/lost etc and I didn't have to label all of my loved ones items. It would be a lot easier for the staff also. Overall a great place tho!

Acoya Senior Living has been a true blessing for my mom. After a fall, we needed to find a caring and supportive environment closer to medical services. Michelle and Sarah were incredibly helpful, guiding us through the transition from respite care to assisted living and then to independent living. The staff, especially Sheree, Whitney, and the front desk team (Miley and Brianna), have been amazing in supporting my mom's recovery. They even help with scheduling her transportation to therapy! I highly recommend Acoya for seniors who need a caring and supportive community.

Our experience at Acoya Mesa was exceptional. We moved our mother into Acoya in June and by mid July her health had declined rapidly. The staff was incredible and treated my mother like she were their own. Over the next six months my brother and I were overwhelmed by the love and care the staff gave to our mother paying attention to her every detail. They were gentle, kind, attentive and went above and beyond in every area to assure she was taken well care of. We truly became family and it gave me such peace knowing that she was in good hands especially at times when I couldn't be there. My mother and I have shared a 2 bedroom apartment at Acoya Mesa for almost a year now. Food is great whether we order from the daily gourmet options, or order from the hamburger, pizza, salad, sandwich menu available at all meals. Cheers to our chef Wallis. Weekly housekeeping, daily activities, transportation to doctors and shopping is all much appreciated. I’m giving this place two stars because the building itself is new and beautiful. However, I was disappointed with the food quality, the front desk staff’s poor attitude and most importantly they steal from their residents. They stole some items left in my grandmothers room and claimed they never saw her personal belongings. They say they are known for their food and it’s terrible cafeteria style food that looks unappetizing. Lastly the front desk staff were uninviting to guests they didn’t make it easy for us to visit our loved one. They have a beautiful lobby with a fancy coffee maker and fridge. However they don’t let guests use them and they purposely don’t stock up with cups or water bottles. The place is rather expensive so the least they can do is have water and coffee cups on hand.

You may experience a thousand Senior nursing homes, rest homes, retirement villages, senior assisted living communities, call them whatever you want, but none of them will really touch you, and then you experience one and your life is changed forever. From high tech to high touch, simply put, Acoya Adult Living Community is the absolute best because they love what they do, and it shows! Rather than being shoved into the corner and treated like a dying and endangered species, they treat their residents with the dignity and respect you so richly deserve. And for those with a discriminate pallet, I can’t begin to say enough about the superior culinary skills of their Executive Chef, who resonates with a mischievous gleam in her eyes, as she passionately surprises us each and every evening by taking the ordinary to the extraordinary. And with their staff as positive as they are responsive to your every need, you would be hard pressed to find any better. From a piece of mind standpoint, we love it here, and you will too.
