We highly recommend this gem of a community where our Mom has been a resident since Nov., 2023 -- first in Assisted Living, then Avita Memory Care, and now on visiting hospice. The well-designed and maintained facilities, many common areas including 2 lush courtyards, great meals, variety of engaging activities, generous staffing levels, and transparent fee structure are definitely pluses. But, the exceptionally caring and attentive staff are the real difference makers. Residents and their families are fully supported with compassion, dignity, and respect in pursuit of their best possible quality of life. Laurentide’s smaller size fosters an everybody knows your name and is looking out for you culture embraced by staff member across all roles in this welcoming community. The staff at Laurentide has always shown my mother-in-law respect and care at every level. This has not gone unnoticed and is appreciated greatly by her entire family. The minute you enter the building you are greeted with a friendly hello and each subsequent staff interaction is pleasant. If she needs to leave the building for a doctor’s appointment the driver happily entertains her during the entire ride there. The directors are always available to hear your concerns and then come up with a plan together to make it a more comfortable experience for Mom. Knowing that we have a team of people who are helping with her unfortunate dementia decline has made all the difference in our lives. Where do I begin to express how wonderful our experience has been at Laurentide? It's easy to see, when you walk in the door, that the accommodations are just beautiful. But it goes so much deeper than that! It's the people. EVERYONE, from the person at the front desk, to the person who helps my sister get ready in the morning is kind, pleasant and truly caring. On day one, everyone knew her by name. I don't know how they pulled that off, but however they are doing it, I hope they never stop. It can be so unnerving for an older person to be plunked down in a new setting. But right from the start, showing my sister that they are happy she is there made the transition so much smoother. They even gave her beautiful bouquet of flowers as a welcome gift! I think this will give you a sense of how happy we are with my sister's care at Laurentide. I was having coffee with my husband and getting ready to scratch off some lottery tickets I had won. I looked at my husband and said: "You know what... even if we win ten million dollars, I wouldn't move my sister away from Laurentide! There is no place better!" THANK YOU ALL! My parents have been at Laurentide for 3 years and I could not be happier. It was my parents decision and the staff was welcoming and very helpful with the transition. They have the cutest apartment that has been decorated to perfection by Mom. Laurentide was supportive and now it feels like home for my parents. The staff work very hard to host many concerts, activities and even happy hour! I love the size of the community and the many groups playing Scrabble, going to movies, exercise classes and fun outings. My parents are so busy I can't keep track of them sometimes. The food is very good and the dining staff are helpful and friendly. Our family was unsure how this move would work out but, it could not have turned out better. My parents are safe, happy and have the support they need to continue to do whatever they want. I absolutely love Laurentide and everyone that works so hard to make it an exceptional place to live.

The day my dad stepped into Laurentide at Mashpee Commons; he found his forever home. I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. They are so thoughtful, considerate, attentive and caring to not only the residents but their families as well. They go out of their way to make sure they understand the resident needs. They always have the residents’ best interest at heart. The meals and choices they offer are varied, accommodating and delicious. The activities are wide-ranging and well thought out. My favorite happens to be the weekly concerts, which I enjoy thoroughly with my dad. I love seeing him and the other residents singing along with the particular artist. Last posting My mother passed away on December 30 at the age of 99. For the past three and half years she lived at Laurentide in Mashpee where she blossomed as an elder. She had the opportunity to express herself through art and craft classes. She exercised daily in the various classes available to the residents at Laurentide. She received exceptional care from the staff when needed. I thank the Laurentide community for making my mom’s last years happy and fruitful. Though I do not have a person that is a resident here, I have spent a considerable amount of time in the dining area observing. I would like to send a shout out to the woman that works at the reception desk( Ally) by the entrance. From the moment I stepped foot in the door she made me feel welcome and comfortable. She gently guided me through the entrance protocols and was quick with a smile, answers to my endless questions and anything else I needed help with. She set the tone for the entire establishment. On one of my visits, I was having difficulties with one of the staff members, I was quickly escorted to the directors office by this receptionist. The director ( Maureen) could not have been more open, professional or accommodating. I was in awe of her handling of my situation which was addressed and settled with lightening speed . From my observations in the dining room, I was pleasantly surprised by how the residents are attended to, the quality of the food and quality of service. You feel as though you are in a nice restaurant and your own home all at once. The servers addressed residents by name, and served them quickly and efficiently. The common rooms are furnished beautifully and the residents I passed by or witnessed dining were very content and comfortable and enjoyed socializing with each other. Based on what I have seen so far , I would highly recommend this Senior community!

Every staff member and management experience mirrors the same attention, care and respect that my mother has enjoyed there as a resident/member for the last two years. You can tell a lot about an operation when a crisis arises, and when the COVID-19 pandemic generated fear and daunting challenges, the response at Laurentide was truly remarkable. Every staff member kept calm while keeping pace with the changing essential protections and policies. Moreover, creative adaptations were developed that provided residents (and their families) opportunities to stay in contact and maintain social connections. It is a testament to Ms. Gardner’s leadership and the example of the on-site management and staff that, even in the most challenging of times, every interpersonal exchange, request, and experience evidenced Laurentide’s trademark positivity, graciousness and genuine desire to assist and support. From the first day my mother-in-law and her husband walked through the doors at Laurentide my wife and I felt like they were home and safe. It was such a big transition for them both, but the fact that they felt so welcomed during their first few months there and made new friends among the residents and staff so quickly, we knew we had made the best decision along with them, to make Laurentide their new home. The first thing I noticed on our tour of Laurentide was that every staff member you passed along the way welcomed you with a smile and a hello. The atmosphere there is filled with light, laughter and love and it emulates throughout the community. Sadly, after only four months there, my wife’s stepfather passed away suddenly amid the covid pandemic. The kindness and compassion shown to her mom by the staff and residents at Laurentide helped her and us get through a very emotional, trying time. We can’t say enough about the compassion that was shown to our mom from all members of the Laurentide staff on all levels. We have never questioned our decision as well as theirs, about making Laurentide their forever home.

If you're wondering where you can find a safe, happy and affordable place for your loved one when they can't be at home, look no further. Choosing Laurentide will hands down be the best decision you make, for the resident, and for you/your family. My father moved to Laurentide at Mashpee Commons last August at the age of 86 and the only thing we should’ve done differently was move in sooner. The experience was transformational not only for my Dad but me too. Almost immediately he began to thrive, improving both mentally and physically. He’s actually better at an older age at Laurentide than he was younger and completely independent. I attribute this specifically to the comprehensive care, beautifully equipped, elegant facility and most of all to the remarkable staff at Laurentide. My Dad loves the food, the brain games, happy hour and even the exercise classes (all of which he hasn’t done in a decade). They always make sure to prepare his favorite salad with his special balsamic dressing. This may seem small but to him it’s big. It’s incredible to see the Dad I remember growing up - sharp, motivated, and jovial. An 86-yr-old turned 76 simply because he’s happy and wants to live again. I’m thrilled because he’s safe, healthier and no need is left undone. The communication is impeccable and there could not possibly have been a better environment during Covid - truly (continued to be) managed to perfection! I am so grateful to the leadership team, notably Maureen Gardner, E.D., Vanessa Peterson, Wellness Director and equally to every single Laurentide staff that makes each day brighter. My loved one was one of the first residents at Laurentide 2-1/2 years ago. It's been one of the best choices he has ever made. He has a beautiful "assisted-living" apartment overlooking nature, and he is so well taken care of by such a caring staff. Thanks to a phenomenal Director and team of dedicated associates, he has remained virus free during the pandemic, and for that, we are ever so grateful. My mother was among the very first residents of Laurentide, where she moved from Rhode Island to be closer to my brother's family, when she could no longer manage on her own. Her health is better and her spirits good, despite the pandemic, thanks to the staff at Laurentide. Since I live in New York State, when I visit her, I stay in the guest apartments, which are so comfortable and just a few steps away from my mom. I am looking forward to returning as soon as it is safe; for my mother, Laurentide is HOME; for me, it is home away from home.

My Mom and Dad were both at Laurentide and were well cared for always. My Dad has passed, but Mom who is in Avita, the memory clinic, is so fortunate to have the caring Laurentide staff and now additionally the hospice staff to care for her. Earlier in their stay they benefited from the activities, outdoor space, games and commraderie with other residents. The food and dinner setting were always mentioned by my Dad as very good. Covid has made this past year challenging, but I can't think of a place that my Mom could have been more safe or well cared for.

My in-laws became residents of Laurentide last fall during COVID. The staff all made the transition from home to assisted living seem less for them. They loved their new condo and all the friendly & professional care they were receiving. My father in law loves the food & has actually put on a few pounds & looks great! My mother in law is very impressed with the decor & how spotless everything is. Unfortunately we have just had to move them to Avita (memory care unit). Laurentide again made the transition seem less for them. The whole family feels that they are getting the very best of care & are always willing to listen & do anything we ask. They continually go above & beyond. So grateful to have such a wonderful, caring, & professional group of people taking care of our parents!

I am very pleased with the care my parents are getting at Avita at Laurentides. I removed my parents from a nice assisted living community in Brewster because of sub par care. What I found at Laurentides is a community of wonderful and caring staff and workers. It really does feel like a family when I visit. It begins with the front desk worker, maintenance person and the housekeeping gal. The sales staff made it very easy for me to transition my parents. The nursing staff is very committed and professional. The staff within Avita memory care are wonderful and very caring. Every time I visit there is something going on and many are involved. They have many, many activities, entertainment venues and their Happy Hours are very well attended. Residents seem very happy and engaged. What I appreciate most is the communication they allow me with everyone on the staff. I highly recommend Laurentides!!!! Paula and Chuck

Staff at Laurentide are very attentive and caring including the management who are hands-on and clearly dedicated to making this the best experience for their residents. Beautiful facility, lots of events, great food by all accounts. And the 4pm 'Happy Hours' are a great opportunity for visitors, residents and employees to get to know one-another. This is something that Laurentide Mashpee is particularly good at - giving the old folks an incentive to get out of their rooms and take advantage of what this place has to offer. This has been a very positive experience for us, and we would gladly recommend the Laurentide to anyone seeking to place an elderly loved one in a safe, active community.

Our family has had our parent at Laurentide for about 6 weeks, after coming from another Assisted Living community (which we liked) living there for just over 4 years. Laurentide has gone over the top with their care, insightfulness, really knowing our parent, working with us in her transition which has been difficult and all things of the highest professional stature. We have been so pleased with our experience at Laurentide; it is an incredibly happy place; residents seem to be always smiling. The proactive support we get from the staff whether it's program team, Health Director, CNAs, dining team, front desk has been more than excellent. Everyone really cares at Laurentide and treats each resident with so much positive energy and respect for the family and the residents. laurentide was a blessing to our family. my mother had dementia and we moved her into their memory care unit in October. I was so impressed with all of the staff at this facility. they were the most compassionate and loving people. unfortunately my mom passed away 2 months after entering the facility but the nurses there where 100% on point I would highly recommend this facility. they are so knowledgible in this field and knew exactly how to deal with the disease, making it easier for our family. I drive by the facility weekly and almost want to pull in and hug everyone who I had contact with, they became family to me even though it was only for 2 months. truly a professional and loving place during a very hard and difficult time. and I can not even express how wonderful maureen gardner is. I just hope the staff realizes what a difference they made during such a horrific time.
