Bridges by EPOCH at Mashpee – Reviews

My husband (94) was moved to Bridges in Mashpee in May 2002 from Florida where we lived in the winter. I could no longer take care of him as his dementia and physical need became too much for me. We looked at many facilities and found that Bridges met our needs. When he arrived he was confined to a wheel chair and within months was using a walker. We attribute this to physical therapy and the attentiveness of aides, in particular Tony Ann and Earl who always encourage him to use the walker and look after him in a kind and loving way. He is content, loves the food, the environment and the activities and entertainment organized by Pat L and Jennine B. I visit him frequently and always find him well attended to. Selma, wife of Bob

Staff is like extended family, treat residents with kindness and compassion. Dad liked the food and appreciated being given a choice of meals. He loved activity time, especially exercises and the subsequent trivia games. No complaints from our family.

My wife, Carol, entered Bridges at Mashpee in August of 2020. That was right in the middle of COVID. In fact I looked at COVID results when choosing an Assisted Living. My wife had an advanced case of shadowing. She needed me to be in the same room with her. I was very concerned how she would respond to life in an assisted living. I visited every other day and realized she was so busy with activities that she settled in. I learned, as time went on, that I learned that Pat Laferriere was responsible for the programs. Now two and a half years later I know that activity programming was a key piece of success in Carol's successful stay. Pat also was my source of answers for questions that began with "Why can't ...". Like why can't Carol have a plant. (people eat them). Thanks to the crew at Bridges Mashpee for what they've done for Carol.

Yesterday we moved my mother to Bridges in Mashpee. For the past couple months I have been in contact with their senior advisor Julie Dalton. She has been most helpful during this process, from the initial call and tour to another visit with my mother and to the move in yesterday. She has always returned a call or email and made my mother feel welcome and me feel less anxious about the move. She is knowledgeable and intuitive and an asset to Bridges. I would also mention other staff from Margo and Mimi on the desk to Tim who was helpful during the room set up. All were also helpful and able to answer my questions. Kirk in Woods Hole listens and and is upbeat with the residents. I am just getting to know the neighborhood staff but feel comfortable leaving her this first day. Thanks to all who care for our loved ones. Shirley K

5 STARS is not enough. Our mother was at BRIDGES BY EPOCH in Mashpee for 13 months until she passed away October 25,2022 one week shy of her 100th birthday. Not sure how to begin because its hard to find the words to descibe our 13 month journey with dementia and our experience at Bridges with our mother. The biggest THANK YOU to the entire staff and I mean EVERYONE we encountered doesn't seem to be enough. We will be forever grateful to everyone who was part of her caregiving in the Poppy residence. Everyone treated her and us as family. The care and love everyone showed her was beyond what we could ever imagine. We always felt comfortable leaving after our visits knowing she was being well cared for. Bridges by Epoch should be considered as a model for what should exist in specialized alzheimer's and dementia care. In our opinion they have thought of everything needed to make the resident feel at home, lots of activities and entertainment (if they choose to participate), full time nursing staff and let's not forget the gourmet meals they serve. We truly are missing our mother and all the residents we have gotten to know and plan on continuing our visits in the near future. Rick and Marianna Olsen

5 STARS!! Wish I could give more!! Bridges has been a wonderful experience for my Mom and for all of us (her family). Here is our story....After a hospital stay my Mom went to a typical nursing home (not Bridges) for rehab. She was there for about 1 month. During that time she continued to decline. She would not eat and I thought we were going to lose her. Soon her rehab stay at that nursing home was over and we had to move her. Thankfully I had toured Bridges a month prior and reached out to them again. Before we signed her up at Bridges I was very concerned if a memory care could meet all of her other needs. For example. My Mom is incontinent and needs assistance with the bathroom. She needs help cleaning and dressing herself. She also uses a walker and early on she was in a wheelchair. Bridges reassured me they could take care of ALL her needs. I prayed hard that this would work and really be true. Im am beyond blessed and happy to report that they have met all of her needs and so much more! The staff at Bridges are wonderful, patient and professional. The aids keep her personal needs taken care of with dignity. The activities staff keeps all the residents engaged. They encourage all of them to be in the common areas not alone in their rooms. . They warmly welcome family and friends to visit, dine and join in on activities with their loved one. The dining staff is accommodating to the residents and their guests. Everyone seems to love their job!! My Mom is doing better now than before her hospital stay. She has gained the weight back she lost prior. Shes alert and engaged! No more wheelchair. Overall she is much happier and more content and most importantly not afraid and depressed like she was at the other nursing home. All nursing homes should take note on how Bridges has this success. I feel blessed and very fortunate that we found this assisted living for her. If you are reading this and are looking for care for your loved one, I encourage you to tour Bridges and tour other facilities like I did and see for yourself. If the staff is reading this, thank you, so much from the bottom of my heart for all that you do for my Mom and for my familys peace of mind.

My grandmother lives here and receives wonderful care. I find the staff to be friendly, caring, and attentive. Grams room in big enough to accommodate her needs and the communal spaces for socializing and dining are always clean. The patio and garden out back make her feel like shes back at her own house and are beautiful. It is a huge relief to know that she is so well cared for. We appreciate the safety measures taken to ensure residents cannot get lost or leave the property on their own. We even stay for lunch from time to time and have been impressed with the quality of the food, which is much better than her previous assisted living situation.
