Mom needs Assisted Living after Dad passed away. We visited several places in Georgetown and really liked the Delaney, the way it is laid out, and the staff. After looking at the rooms and the amenities, we had a round table discussion with the staff, including the chef, and felt mom would be very comfortable here. We were able to go into the room two days early to get it all set up for when mom. We take her there this morning, she will be greeted and welcomed by the staff and assistants. I'll update in a week to two after she gets comfortable and I get her feedback.

When I walked into the Independent Living door I was greeted with smiling, courteous staff who immediately made me feel comfortable and welcome. I was interested in possibly moving into this community and I spent time with Jennifer who answered my long list of questions with patience and without hesitation. I was never rushed or pressured in any way but was given a tour of the beautiful home and the opportunity to speak with other staff members we encountered along the way. Jennifer was knowledgeable and professional but warm and so receptive to my needs. To my surprise, I was also introduced to the Executive Director, who offered to answer any questions. I was impressed at how clean everything was and the menu far exceeded my expectations. I was given a calendar of activities and it was filled with fun and opportunity for enrichment. I was happy that I was also greeted by residents who recognized me as "new" and made me feel welcome. I have decided to make The Delaney my home after my visit and I look forward to enjoying the many benefits of Independent Living.

A friend moved into The Delaney recently. Our group that she belongs to wanted to take her out to lunch. She insisted on us eating at her dining room at The Delaney; she bragged that the food was great. I phoned Chef Nick several times to make arrangements for the 6 of us. He was very accommodating and professional. We were able to order from the amazingly extensive menu. Our servers, Rayna and Kareem, were so cheerful and attentive. The dining room was light-filled and spacious. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious. We were so glad that we were able to enjoy time with our friend in such lovely surroundings. We could not have asked for a better meal at a upscale restaurant! It was a great experience!

woefully, I have decided to LEAVE THE DELANEY. It is not NEARLY the place I envisioned. The food is AWFUL when they don't run out. The hours for food are not to my liking. I was told my apartment was getting new carpet... not so. I have flowers delivered monthly -- they go to the loading dock, they're there all day and eventually get delivered to me. These last flowers only lasted a. week -- they lasted at least 2 weeks in my last apartment. The "resident's handbook" is finally supposed to be printed and assembled within a week -- this has been promised since March -- it is now June and we still don't have a printed copy... I could go on and on. today wegot told what to do if the fire alarm sounded... I've been here since April, it's now June -- fortunately we haven't had a fire. Coming to The Delaney was a mistake so I'm cutting my losses and have given them my 60 days notice. APOLOGIES To those of you who looked at my first comments. Many, many folks moved out before I moved in

Working with outstanding Executive Director Sam Richardson and his unparalleled staff (including Margo Hays. Melonie Martinez and Chef Nick Dezurn), Talking Baseball - Georgetown has grown dramatically. We provide a two-hour program twice per month for people with memory issues and their caregivers, as well as program volunteers. The Delaney welcomed us with open arms and has made our efforts so much easier by providing facilities abd exceptional lunches for attendees. We LOVE The Delaney!

We have been extremely pleased with the Delaney and the care that Mom receives there. It is a beautiful, comfortable facility and everyone seems to have moms well-being in mind. They have been especially diligent keeping mom and everyone safe this past year during the pandemic. We feel fortunate that there have been no serious covid cases among the residents, a huge tribute to the management and staff. They successfully balanced the safety of their residents with everyones need for some visitation; and theyve done it all with kindness and always a smile on their faces during this trying time. The Delaney is an amazing place for seniors. My now 85 year old Mother moved into a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in late 2018. She absolutely LOVES living there.It truly is like a cruise ship on land. The activities range from trivia contests, bingo, rummy cube and black jack games, to exercise classes and movie nights, and more. Pre- Covid, the Delaney had live music for the residents three times a week.The most remarkable thing about the Delaney is the staff. They are all upbeat and their affection for the residents is evident. Sam Richardson can give a class on leading through crisis - his management through the Covid crisis was truly outstanding. The safety of the residents was number one. New procedures were put in place and monitored and changed as needed. What a relief for all of us with loved ones living at the Delaney.The Delaney has an app which kept us updated on all matters. The cruise ship activities were restricted to resident-led activities only, and all with masks. It was a great balance of safety first but with a focus of preventing loneliness and isolation. I just cant say enough about the wonderful life my Mother enjoys at the Delaney.The Delaney is to be commended for ensuring their residents were vaccinated at the first opportunity! My Mother, along with the majority of the residents had their second vaccine in mid January of 2021! Im hoping I will once again be able to join her for lunches or dinners in the Delaney restaurant - the food is fantastic there.Overall, my Mother is very grateful and blessed to have found such an amazing place and we (her family) are tickled she is having so much fun in this new environment and season of life.

The challenge of moving a parent from their home into an assisted living facility is never an easy one. For my mother, leaving her home, even after several falls, was a struggle. Thankfully, she was pleased with the Delaney apartment and all the facility offered. Now, after sixteen months of living at the Delaney, much of it spent dealing with the pandemic, she and our family couldnt be happier with this decision. Adjustments made for residents and family members to deal with safety concerns, have been clearly communicated, making us feel all is being done to keep my mother well. She enjoys the friendly, helpful staff who have become her family. She has made new friends that she shares her meals with, as well as keeping busy maintaining a hummingbird feeder and working in the garden. A variety of offered activities in this lovely facility keep residents busy and interacting with each other. We feel very fortunate the Delaney is a part of our community.

Fantastic place that has really gone above and beyond in the service arena. The facility is beautiful with many thoughtful touches throughout. It feels and looks like a very nice luxury resort hotel. I especially love the interior courtyard space where events and special guests are sometimes hosted. Everything is spotlessly cleaned and maintained. I really love that my moms apartment had fresh paint and new carpet put in before her move. My mom is a big fan of the beauty shop on site and the arts and crafts studio as well as the library. The food options are plentiful and vary quite a bit. There are lots of choices for residents. My only complaint is in this area. I wish the menu had diabetic friendly and heart healthy icons next to the choices to help residents identify best options for them.The Delaneys Covid response has been fantastic. Nearly every resident has been vaccinated and my mom said the process was very easy and well planned.

Mom is a resident at the Delaney. While her condition has changed considerably over the years, one thing has remained constant, the level of care and compassion at the Delaney. Every person, no matter their department or area of work, has treated Mom and other family as just that, family. Whereas the pandemic presented hurdles, they cleared them. And the recent winter storms really proved who they are, with staff and management pitching in to do anything needed to keep things running smoothly for the residents. Directors and marketing folks and whomever giving care and mopping floors! Yes, the Delaney is exactly the kind of place you would want your loved one to live, should they need residential care.

Most recently, I was very impressed with the way Sam Richardson and Mary Faith persisted in obtaining vaccinations for the Independent Living residents when CVS attempted to eliminate them from this service!! The staff have always been professional, friendly, and caring. You all have also protected the residents so well in this past year and need to be commended on this awesome task, accomplishment.The facility itself is beautiful and well maintained. You have had many activities available within the confines of maintaining a safe environment for residents in this past year.I think the only area needing improvement is food service, yet I also realize serving meals, sometimes in isolation, and most certainly with unexpected delays in food service delivery and quality may be a big part of the problem. I hope to see improvements in this next year, but truly believe you all deserve a 5 star rating!!!

My father was a long-time resident at the Delaney until his recent death. Throughout his tenure there, and most particularly in his last months, the staff at the Delaney could not have been more caring, and accommodating of his increasing needs. Whenever I visited, it was clear that they genuinely loved my dad (and he loved them). Last, in his last months, the staff at the Delaney ... from the director to the nursing staff to the front desk ... kept in close contact with me and my family, and kept us well-informed of his condition and needs.

My mom was placed into Assisted Living in February 2019, and passed away on April 19, 2019. Overall, it struck me as a clean and well-run place. Most of the staff was very nice, but my mother did complain about one nurse who told her when putting her to bed to stop complaining and go to sleep. I wish she could have remembered the name of the nurse so I could file a complaint about her. Another aide I observed talking down to her and not being very helpful; I was not impressed with her. However there was a young man I chatted with named Joshua Brown who helped my mom out and was everything I would hope and expect the staff to be. He was wonderful with her. There are plenty of activities for residents, but my mom sadly didnt want to participate in any of them. They also have a nice dining room, but she never came down for meals; they brought her food up to her (she tended to drink Ensure rather than eat, mostly). My mom needed Depends and we had to buy them for her. It strikes me as more than a little ridiculous that adult diapers and Ensure are not provided by the Delaney, considering it costs a small fortune to live there. Also, when calling the main number, the operators tend to be rude and unprofessional. When asking for the nurses station I was transferred to voicemail on more than one occasion.Overall a nice place, but there is some room for improvement. Thanks to the Delaney for trying to make her final couple of months good ones.

My father spent a brief time at the Delaney but I found the staff and leadership team to be top notch! My father was not always easy to deal with but they persisted and took excellent care of him and all of the residents of the facility. During Covid-19 pandemic they stepped up, took extra precautions and worked tirelessly to keep their residents safe. The Delaney is such a wonderful place for my mom. She is 87 and needs lots of assistance to live her life fully in these last years.Moms room is just the right size for her and she has a private bathroom. The staff keep her room, and the common areas, clean and orderly.The staff at the Delaney - including caregivers, nurses, therapists, and management, work well together as a team to assist mom with her daily routines (such as grooming and eating), ensure she has plenty of activities to enjoy, and attend to a growing list of medical needs.ost importantly, the staff at the Delaney feel more like extended family than paid professionals, as they help us to keep mom feeling safe, loved, and valued in these latter years.The fact that they will work with us to allow mom to age out in place also gives us peace.I would say that what we have discovered is this: They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it turns out that it also takes a village to help someone to the end. You can find no better village than the Delaney at Georgetown Village, to help negotiate this challenging time. We are thankful and blessed that the Delaney can care so much better for mom than we can by ourselves. It frees us up to just love on her as much as possible. I recommend that you come and see for yourself if you have an aging loved one who needs extra attention.

The Delaney at Georgetown Village is a remarkable, progressive Senior Living facility! My mother thoroughly enjoys every day at the Delaney because the dedicated staff constantly expresses genuine care and assistance to her.Throughout the CoVid pandemic the staff has been working tirelessly to maintain a pristine environment, as well as, over extending services to the residents to insure their safety, ie. delivering ALL meals to each residents room and making deliveries to rooms for weeks on end.As time has passed, the staff has developed and followed explicit plans that allowed residents to begin visitation, movement on campus, and a return of some services ie. opening the exercise room or getting haircuts. As promised, if the requirement for each phase of the plan was met, they would continue to move forward back to a more open campus.Just recently, they have had to make changes again and return to a closed campus for the residents safety. The additional work that the staff will incur because of this decision is exhausting, but I am extremely thankful for their dedication to make sure my Mom is being provided the best possible care and safest environment given these times.So, to each member of the Delaney Staff...thank you IMMENSELY for every extra step, additional duty, or supplemental task you are completing each day, doing your part to make sure your house is a healthy home for my Mom.Its not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving. ~Mother Theresa

I wear lots of hats at The Delaney, but my favorite is working life enrichment with memory care. We have a strong activity program that is constantly evolving and Team Blue really work well together. I have personally experienced the apathy of my existence as a guest in another community, and I can honestly say, our Hospitality Promises are what make us a more alluring place to be. As a visitor, you will be greeted by all staff who pass by. You will probably be ask at least three times if there is anything else I can do for you?We dont ignore, we dont pass you off to someone else who really cant help you, only to get frustrated and leave. If our staff doesnt know the answer, he, shewill find out who does and will get that answer you need in one way or another.

My mother moved to assisted living at The Delaney in December 2018 after we did our research on other communities in the Georgetown area. So happy we made this choice. We have been so pleased with their medical care, the general caring and positive attitude of all staff members and the responsive management. The convenience of having a wonderful physician and Nurse Practitioner who regularly visit residents has been a gift! Lab work, x-rays, etc. all come to The Delaney thus reducing trips to outside medical facilities and makes things so much easier for the family. Our onboarding on day 1 was fabulous. Staff was prepared for us, apartment was ready and we were greeted like long-lost family. Many activities on both the IL and AL sides. Very happy there.
