I have been at Summit Hills rehab for a few months and i highly recommend this community for any skilled nursing needs. The therapy is great and they care about the patients and want us to succeed. The nurses and CNA are great and care so much.

I recently attended an event at Summit Hills with my family and the residents and staff were fantastic! Laura, the social director, did great at organizing this event. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It was such a joy to meet and spend time with several residents. What a happy place!

The Meals on Wheels Dinner was wonderful. The Dining Hall looked great and the food was delicious. The service equaled the food. We really enjoyed our visit to Summit Hills! Laura, the Social Director, is amazing and thinks of all the extra touches to make things even more special. Gated community with several levels of senior care including private houses. I know about assisted living. Rooms are like studio apartments with private bath, bedroom/living area and kitchenette. Meals are good and available in the dining room or delivered as room service. Residents have a choice for lunch and dinner of the special of the day or to order off a menu with salads, sandwiches, soup of the day, or protein with a selection of sides. Breakfast is different every day of the week. There is a workout room, heated swimming pool and several courtyards for outside exposure. The accommodations are clean. The staff is wonderful and very attentive. Highly recommend.

My wife and I recently attended a special dining event (An Enchanted Evening) at Summit Hills that we had bid on at an auction supporting the Alzheimer's Association. We were initially bowled over by the decorations in the Kennedy Dining Room. It was like entering an enchanted forest, but the meal that followed surpassed our expectations. There were 8 courses and each one was a gastronomic surprise and absolutely delicious. At the end of the meal, we all stood and gave the staff a standing ovation. I could not recommend the experience more and hope to be able to repeat the experience.

My experience with Summit Hills was not just disappointing, it was alarming. They have a strong sales process. You will walk away thinking your loved one is going to be well cared for and supported. After the move in, that level of attention disappears. From that point on, you are largely on your own. If your loved one is fully independent, this facility may work. If they decline, do not assume the care will adjust to meet that need. In my experience, it did not. Care here is inconsistent and unpredictable. There are a few staff members who clearly care, but others appear disengaged. The larger issue is management. There does not seem to be a consistent standard being enforced, which leaves families relying on chance instead of a dependable level of care. Basic expectations were not reliably met. Cleanliness, housekeeping, and routine support were inconsistent. Issues that should have been handled quickly were not, and follow through was lacking. This does not feel like a resident first environment. Too many decisions seem driven by what is easiest for staff rather than what is best for the people living there. Communication follows the same pattern, slow, unclear, and requiring repeated follow up. If you place a loved one here, plan to stay heavily involved. You will likely spend more time checking on their care than you expect, simply to ensure basic needs are being met. At this cost, the level of inconsistency is hard to justify. You may get good care, or you may not. That uncertainty alone should make any family stop and think very carefully before making this decision.

Summit Hills is truly a lovely community. My mother moved here a year ago and I’ve had four different extended visits from out of state. Each time I’m so impressed with the consistency of the care and kindness. Whether a holiday or a random weekend the facilities are bright and clean and welcoming, with seasonal decorations and pretty landscaping and changing art and interior displays. The food in the dining room is varied, well prepared, and served with cheerful patience. The staff know the residents and greet them by name, often remembering specifics like my mother’s desire for extra water with ice and a straw. The dining staff work hard to connect members- introducing them and offering them options to join others or have a quiet meal alone. There are weekly alternates to the dining room (Thirsty Thursdays with music and appetizers in the Bistro is a favorite of my mom.) and festive special dinners each month. I recently attended Oktoberfest with bratwurst and beer, potato salad, pretzels with mustards, and German Chocolate cake- and an Oompa Band. The rest of the staff is equally warm, helpful, caring, and friendly. From the weekly cleaning crew to the Wellness Director to all of the concierge and maintenance staff, I have witnessed nothing but eagerness to help and create a positive experience. I cannot emphasize enough the cheerful patience and respect I see from the staff to the residents. I am so glad my mom chose Summit Hills as her retirement community- living 900 miles away in Boston it is so satisfying to know she is in such a nice place where she can relax and enjoy herself. Bite- my mom is in an Independent living apartment. I know Summit Hills has other levels of care though I have yet to meet any of them. My guess is that if and when she moves on to a more assisted situation I will be writing a similar review of those units! Thank you Deirdre Bergeron Natick, Massachusetts

Summit Hills is a wonderful community with excellent amenities that makes it a great choice for a person seeking a senior living community for themselves or their mom and dad. The culture is welcoming, warm and caring and the residents are happy with many smiles on their faces. The staff is kind and attentive to the residents needs and requests. There are so many ways to be entertained and involved. A resident should never be bored. It also has a quality dining program for residents to enjoy delicious food and warm and engaging fellowship around the table. I highly recommend Summit Hills as a great place to call home!
