As a daughter, finding the right place for my mom was incredibly important, and I honestly knew this was the right place from the moment we came in for our tour. The person who showed us around was so kind, welcoming, and informative. They took the time to answer all of our questions and made us feel comfortable every step of the way. Since my mom moved in, we've continued to have a wonderful experience. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. Every time I visit, they greet me by name, and it's obvious they really know my mom”not just as a resident, but as a person. That personal touch means so much to our family. The community is always clean and well cared for, and anytime my mom has needed something fixed in her apartment, maintenance has responded quickly and taken care of it without any hassle. The dining supervisor does an amazing job making sure everyone is taken care of and that residents are happy with their meals. It's such a relief knowing my mom is somewhere she feels comfortable, respected, and cared for. I highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will be treated like family.

Merrill Gardens is a lovely community. It is clean and well maintained. David in hospitality does an amazing job! The staff that runs the restaurant and kitchen are very kind and caring. The techs and medical staff are compassionate and attentive, and very patient with the residents. They make every resident feel they are special. My mom feels they genuinely care about her well being and we feel it as well. I can’t say that I am impressed with the administrator Susan Monard or Reenie Glick the admissions director. Prior to moving our mom there they couldn’t do enough for us. Once my mom was established, they were difficult, hard to reach and trying to reach either one of them is like making an appointment with the president. I feel the kitchen, tech and medical staff deserve all the accolades and I hope they are being fairly compensated for all their hard work. If I had to do this over I’d probably choose a different senior living facility. I base this on the fact that I feel we were all fed a lot of great stories that were just that, stories.

Our Mom moved into Merrill Gardens in early 2025 after previously living in two other senior living facilities, both also operated by Merrill Gardens during her stay. She was in the Memory Care unit, as she suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease. As we witnessed the progression of her illness, the staff at Merrill Gardens, Glen Mills cared for her with unwavering compassion”a level of kindness and attentiveness that had been lacking in her previous residences. During Mom's final week, a family member stayed by her side around the clock. The staff regularly checked in on us, offering support and assistance in every possible way. To them, our mother was far more than just a patient”they truly cared for her as a person.The kindness and empathy they showed during such a difficult time will forever remain in our hearts.

My Mom just moved in today, but my siblings and I have had numerous interactions with the management team, support staff and current residents as we awaited move-in day. The General Manager ( Susan) is very hands-on as is the Director (David) , the Community Relations Managers (Melissa and Reenie), and even the receptionists ( Michelle, Darlene, Carol and Darla). I would be remiss to not also comment on Brian, the head of the maintenance team. He went out of his way to explain things to us and to help navigate us through the process. What an incredible team of truly caring people! They know the residents by name and the residents enjoy interacting with them! The facility provides a very welcoming atmosphere with its gift shop, 50’s diner, park bench-filled lobby , a theater, and a bistro, but even more welcoming are its people. The employees and the residents really appear to feel at home there. Employee engagement is apparent right away. Resident satisfaction was pro-actively shared during our many conversations with people either sitting outside on the rocking chairs or just walking the halls. Everyone appears to be genuinely happy! Suffice it to say that our onboarding experience has been impeccable. All indication is that Mom is going to really enjoy living at Merrill Gardens as she makes new friends and creates new memories !

Sometimes life requires people to move fast, in our case 10 days fast! We can't express how happy we are with our experience at Merrill Gardens at Glenn Mills. Melissa Donovan was professional, kind and compassionate to our family's unique situation which included a super quick transition to assisted living for our mom. My brother and I live out of state; thanks to Melissa we were able to set everything up through emails and texts 5 days prior to her move-in date! Melissa communicated with us daily so we would have a smooth transition, and we cannot thank her enough. The staff at Merrill Gardens are top notch and really care about the residents. Everyone made mom feel welcome right away, she has been living there for only 3 weeks and is happily enjoying her daily activities. Moving to Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills has greatly improved her quality of life and it's a blessing for us to know she is happy and in such good hands. We love hearing her talk about her day every evening. The maintenance staff and guest services continue to help and check in to make sure mom is settling in since we went back home. The food is fantastic, the building is beautiful, and the amenities are unsurpassed! Thank you, Merrill Gardens, at Glen Mills for the amazing experience!

My MIL has been in the Garden House for 90 days. She has settled in nicely. That is not to say there haven't been some hurdles but the staff is beyond terrific. They are kind, responsive to her needs and our concerns. This is not the first memory care community where my MIL has lived but clearly it is above all the others.

Our mom moved to Merrill gardens Glen mills two weeks ago. She resides in the garden house/memory care unit. I have to say the staff has been a delight in caring for our mom. This is not her first memory care facility so in comparing Merrill Gardens with the prior place the activity level is a big upgrade. The staff offers gentle reminders about meal times, using her walker and joining in activities.

Merrill Gardens was the nicest retirement center I have ever toured. It is clean and spacious with many activities. The people in independent living appeared happy and sociable. Melissa Donovan, relations director, was very friendly, kind, patient, and informative. She seemed to genuinely care about the community. Decisions about loved ones are so hard and I am grateful to have this as an option.

The aids and the facility are very nice. However if you family member needs a new medication be prepared to wait days. My dad has had two UTI’s and both times getting him the antibiotic has been a nightmare. This time requested medication on Sunday (apparently getting medication on the weekend is next to impossible) was told Monday.followup was told called in at noon. Would come in afternoon. Never arrived followed up again Tuesday morning, meds never sent. Nurse called to expedite finally arrived at 11am. During this time my dad has been uncomfortable and extremely confused. Waiting two full days to get medication is just not acceptable.

My grandparents have been living here for a few months now. It took many weeks before my grandparents received their prescribed medication properly. There were a few instances where they were denied receiving their medication or nurses did not show up with their proper medication. There was also an instance where some of their medication was missing. Things have gotten better over time and it seems like my grandparents are receiving their correct medicine regularly. They also seem to be eating well. Overall, the facility looks well maintained and offers many activities. I hope that things keep moving in the positive direction.

My mom resided at MG in Glen Mills for a few months in Summer of 2023. MG is probably good for active seniors who have minor or no mobility issues. My mom had knee replacement surgery beforehand, was a fall risk and used a walker. We thought that she should go into personal care since she needed help with daily tasks but our contact at MG insisted that independent living was a better fit. We should have listened to our own instincts. Other concerns: Parking is limited. The cobblestone floor between the receptionist desk and the Pub and elevators is not a good idea for people with walkers or who are falling risks. Groups of residents sit in chairs and wheelchairs at the front entrance and reception area and block visitors and residents from moving around them. The facility holds fire drills at all times of day, including night but it fails to have staff present on each floor during the nighttime fire drill to guide and reassure residents. One month there was an issue about all of my mom’s meals not being matched to her meal plan account. The Diner often ran out of supplies (such as plastic bags and food containers) for takeout food for residents. Paper towels and toilet paper were missing and not replaced in the public restrooms. One day I found a large bra in the public bathroom, apparently worn and discarded on a cabinet. We decided to to move my mom to a different facility that better fit her needs.

From the moment we walked in the front door, Melissa and the rest of the staff were kind, professional, and welcoming. They go out of their way to make my father feel at home. I cannot say enough nice things about everyone I have met since August, when my father moved-in. Melissa has continued to keep in touch with me and check on my dad regularly. The staff calls every resident by name and know the needs of each resident. This has meant a lot to me and my father. We are very happy with Merrill Gardens.

My mom moved into Merrill Gardens right before the pandemic and everything change. It was tough because everyday things were changing. I cannot say enough about the staff and how they continued to keep everyone informed and spirits up. Now that things have started to get back to some type of normalcy all things are improving. The Activity Director is always coming up with different ways to make everyone feel welcome. I have had to reach out to upper management and they have always been so helpful. If you are looking for a warm comfortable and welcoming place they have it all.

Where do I begin??!! From the moment I walked in I wanted to live there! My dad passed away almost 2 years ago and my mom had been through the ringer with scheduled surgery and unexpected surgery. We decided to move her up here from down South sooner than later and I was in panic city to find a nice, qualified place that my mom would be happy, make new friends and feel at home. Let me just tell you that The Summit at Glen Mills hit every checkmark in my boxes! The staff is super friendly and answer any and all questions, even after I toured and picked out an apartment for Mom! My mom is even excited and though she was already willing to move to be closer to us, downsizing was a stressor for her. These open concept living spaces with gorgeous closets, rooms, bathrooms and all the amenities that are available to her took her stress away! She is going to enjoy that 50's cafe and movie theater the most, but I know the pub will be a great gathering place for her and her new friends! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Summit at Glen Mills. My mom moved in during the very difficult time of Covid lockdown. She has late stage dementia and the community was closed to visitors after we initially moved her in but I had complete faith and trust in the staff at Summit. From the caring staff (Kendra and Jackie) that facilitated her move in and the wonderful aides and staff in the memory care area, especially Tammy, I could see that my mom was well cared for, attended to and in the best possible place at a very difficult time. I would happily recommend Summit to anyone without hesitation as a wonderful place for residents and also for family members that need a calming, informative and caring team to talk to at a stressful time. I delivered furniture to The Summit and the lady at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful! Once you go in the front door it is absolutely gorgeous. The design and ascetics of the building are above and beyond some of the other senior living facilities I have been in. I would highly recommend touring this facility if you have a loved one looking for a place to live.

My dad came to the Summit on respite. He was not feeling well and extremely anxious leaving his home. The Summit's staff knew how to make him comfortable and gave him quality care. His transition went smoothly. My dad went in not appreciating life, and came out with loving life and the Summit. Thank you Summit for all you did and making dad feel at "Home". Dad is back to himself enjoying life !
