Have visited a relative here a few times. The rooms are nice, the employees seem friendly and caring. The food is honestly… terrible lol, but maybe the residents love it! The scenery is nice so I think it's overall a nice place!

Very good layout

My parents lived in Montecito's assisted living area for six years. It took a little time but mom and dad felt like Monticeto was their home. Their staff provided excellent customer service from the front desk, nursing supervisor, med techs, and maintenance. Now that they have passed, I will also miss the Monticeto staff I got to know and work with to manage their care.

I performed live music for the residents on June 20th, 2023. The staff was very helpful with the band, locating the room for the performance, assisting with electrical power needs and beverages. While playing the music, I watched the staff diligently take care of the residents' every needs. The staff was constantly monitoring them while the residents enjoyed our music.

Mother has lived in an independent casita for 5 years and just moved in to assisted living. Good transition and staff is always helpful and willing to assist whenever there are needs. I love the calm atmosphere and smiling faces. It is peace off mind to know that mother is getting her meds and needs met when I can't be there. Virginia

In coming back and forth to the property at The Montecito is beautiful as you approach the entrance with a large waterfall at the entrance. And when you walk in, the décor is very well done and amazingly inviting. More importantly I have found consistently the greeting from the front reception area. And the interaction with the staff across campus is always polite and professional. The dining, beyond the daily entrée, has an anytime menu that provides a tenderloin steak anytime, as well as, other high end fares. Not many senior living properties offer menu options to the degree they do and the ability to come down anytime vs. set meal times. The property is well kept up as you venture from the main building across the campus with Casita's and Villa's. Just down to earth feeling as you visit and engage with the community.

I come here to see my grandmother. The staff is very polite and they take really, really, really good care of my grandmother. They give her hugs and they tell me how much they love having her. I know she won't be here for long, so I try to take the time and drive out to see her. One day she won't remember me so I to make memories now. I absolutely love coming for lunch and getting the filet mignon. It's so good! I love you so much Grammy.

I am a former employee who had the unique opportunity to live on campus as a resident in Independent Living. If you are looking for Independent Living, Assisted Living or a Memory Care setting, I highly recommend touring Montecito Senior Living. I lived in a 1286 sq ft 2 bedroom/2 bath villa with my husband and our dog, and we were very comfortable. Our patio was enormous, the interior ceilings were high and the closets large - with 17 acres of beautifully landscaped walking paths available. The same is true for the Assisted Living apartments in the main building - originally designed for 55+ Active Seniors, the conversion to Assisted Living came with more amenities than most communities, with full kitchens, washer/dryers and storage rooms in every unit. Memory care is extraordinary and run by the most gifted Program Coordinator I've ever known. We relocated to Oregon for work or we would have remained til we retired, and looked forward to eventually being able to participate in all the activities available like water aerobics, book club, putting competitions, art classes and a host of games. The campus is located on 87th just off of Bell - and when you drive up you see it is an oasis in the middle of the city, with easy freeway access and close to a multitude of dining and shopping venues. This is a 5 star community run by people who care about their residents - it does not get any better than that.

My grandmother lived in the Montecito from living in her own Castita to fill assisted living and has a wonderful experience. Our family love the care she recieve and trusted them. The Montecito itself is beautiful and diligently kept its staff. It seems the residents are always busy in the dining room or in the other amenities like the pool or game rooms. Also right near the 101 and main road Bell Rd for visiting. Holidays are done up too!! Take a tour!!

My reason for coming to The Montecito is from reccomendations from colleagues. I have not be dissapointed! The friendliness from the staff and the staff being able to help me whenever I need it is great. Great food choices here and a variety of activities offered! The residents are open to conversation and willingness to introduce new experiences makes this a very positive experience for me while living here! I have two dogs and they, too, have been welcomed with open arms!

Eight years ago my husband and I began searching for a retirement home where we most likely would spend the rest of our lives. This was a daunting task to be sure! The Phoenix valley is dotted with many outstanding retirement homes. Where to start? After an especially long day of covering the countryside we found ourselves in the west valley where in front of us was a most impressive building and a glorious water fall to greet us. Upon entering the Montecito we were immediately impressed with the spacious floor plan and beauty of the lobby. A pretty young lady greeted us who would drive us around the grounds in her golf cart. At that time in our journey we were interested in independent living. Retirement places often require one to buy into their plan. At our age we did not want that. And thankfully the Montecito didnt want that either. The villas are spacious and each has a fireplace (which is what sold us on these lovely apartments). Life in the villas was wonderful. Everyone welcomed us as we walked the cute, winding tree lined pathways. Would we remember all these new names? When dinner time came we made new friends while walking to the bistro where we had a scrumptious dinner. I loved not having to cook breakfast and dinner each day.Countless number of activities filled our days. We were busier now than at any other time in our lives. Years passed with good friends around us until my dear husband of 75 years passed away and I moved into the main building (known also as the Party House). My apartment is smaller than before but I love it. I never worry about anything as there are capable young aids to help with the slightest thing..Activities of every kind are available. Three meals a day are served here. The dining room is open all day for snacks and rootbeer floats and ?There are always doctor appointments and shopping to be done. The Montecito has two large busses and one luxury sedan to take you whenever you need a lift. Life here at the Montecito is a gracious life.I think the beauty and greenery of the grounds and buildings here at the Montecito lift my spirits daily. The friends I have made here are the dearest in my life and the service I receive makes me feel safe and very special. I think this is resort living!

The Montecito Is now our new home. We moved here 10 months ago. Itwas one of the the best choices we could have possibly made. We have met wonderful people here & enjoy our new friends very much. Weappreciate the staff as they take care of our needs and best of all theybecome friends too. The facility itself is a remarkable place and best of all for me is a swimming pool that has a beautiful waterfall. There aremany things such as entertainment and many activities to enjoy with so much more. We feel very fortunate to live in a facility that takes great care of all of us, especially in this most unusual year of 2020.

I am a resident at The Montecito and I am a happy person. Before the pandemic I had wonderful interraction with the assisted living folks . However since the quarantine my interraction is only with the residents in the villas and the casitas. We have lovely grounds which are well maintained. I live in a 1 bedroom, 1 bath casita , large patio with a lovely view. I receive 2 well prepared meals a day, housekeeping every other week. Shopping mall is too close!! Montecito transportation is available.I could go on and on but you have to make a date to come to The Montecito. By the way, our Director, Bob Hitchcock, and his wife, AJ, are terrific. They also hail from Washington State. FYI: Bob lost a bet to one of the residents, Seahawks vs Cardinals. He jumped into an unheated pool only with his bathing shorts on!!!! Now Bob really thinks he can get even with this resident so a bet is on again for Nov 19. Water temp 58 degrees

My husband and I were supposed to move into the Montecito on April 26, 2019. However, my husband died that morning while still in a Re-Hab. Our son, daughter and son-in-law moved me to the Montecito alone that very day. First time I had ever lived alone; and now without my husband of 56 years.Next morning I was so happy to be living in the Montecito.....the apartment was perfect, everyone that worked in my area was calling me by my first name the very next day. It is the friendliest place...from the top job on down....of any place I have ever seen. And the fellow-residents are the kindest and most-welcoming people I have ever met. This senior living home has about everything a person could need or want. For me, it was simply Other People to talk with....Lots of other people! Within a couple of weeks, I was part of a group of five lovely ladies. We ate Breakfast and Dinner together every day....and stayed friends...until two moved away, and one passed away. In the meantime, newcomers filled the empty spaces. Now that we are, unfortunately, living through this COvirus; our good-times are a bit curtailed. But when it is over, Montecito will be back to having bus rides to grocery shopping every week; shopping at WalMart every Sunday; a trip to a Casino once a month; trips by bus to wherever you would like to go individually; and scheduled trips by the Activities Director. The Activity Room is open every day for various activities: card games, domino games, painting classes, quilting classes, book-reading aloud, and Wii games like golf, bowling and others. The Theater Room is open certain days for films available on the TVs, or for films you may have. The TV Room is open for watching Professional Football, Baseball. The Card Room is there for any group that wishes to play.I couldnt believe that all of that was inside....But outside theres More!Walking in organized groups....or Individually. Swimming in two separate swimming pools. And Barbeques when the weather is not too hot nor too cold!.At the Montecito, you wont get old unless you LET yourself get old. There is so much to enjoy, its like being on vacation for the rest of your life.(Well, thats how its been for ME)

I am a healthcare provider and I come to see residents on a regular basis for their therapy needs. I just want to comment on how friendly, caring, and welcoming the entire staff is at the Montecito! Details and steps are taken to ensure everyone has the best care and experience possible. From the check in table, front desk, sales, activities, executive management, dining staff, housekeeping personnel, maintenance, transportation department, memory care, and wellness professionals they will make sure your loved ones will be treated as they deserve to be, like family!
September 2020
A week ago my other daughter and I were looking for a memory care facility for her sweet mom, my dear friend. We were feeling a little defeated due to covid-19, ridiculously expensive home health care and horror stories. The minute we walked into The Montecito ~ the lights went on! The management, staff and services are far more than impressive; its sincere. That night I slept better than I have in months, knowing we found a family, not a facility. Our lovely lady will thrive and have a wonderful life.
September 2020
My MOM has lived at the MONTECITO for over a year and a half now. The staff is awesome !!!! Stephanie Neyman was our liaison when we moved MOM in. What an angel !!!!!Through COVID Crisis the staff has followed up with her care and kept her healthy. When our parents age it is not easy to see, but MOM is a little firecracker and getting thru this pandemic crisis. The precautions they implemented in March have kept MOM safe..... I have not been able to hug or kiss her since then, but as long as I stop by weekly (mask on) to bring MOM her Wine, Beer, groceries and a cooked FILET from Firebirds she is happy !!!! What more could you want for an 86 year old lady who is the best MOM ever !Love you guys @ The Montecito and thank you
September 2020
Just moved my parents in today. Stephanie, Roz and Shanna were wonderful. Made them feel welcomed during this hard reluctant move, Stephanie was amazing on the tour side and made them feel comfortable with their decision. Roz went over and beyond to make sure their unit was ready and checked in with us today. The dining room server who brought my dad his meal tonight was very friendly. Anthony was there to offer us a cart to help with the move. Residents popped up on their patio to say hello. My dad said Well, I know Im going to have no problems with the food. My dinner was really good. Looking forward to seeing my folks thrive.

We love Montecito! From the moment we toured the facility, we knew it was the place for Dad. He began needing additional care and Montecito was able to meet all of his needs. From Jill in Marketing to Janine in Resident Services to Annette in Dining to Terri in Activities, we couldnt have been more pleased with the service each of them provided. The caregivers are attentive, caring and cheerful and Dad got to know them well. Montecito was able to provide additional assistance as Dads needs changed. Although Dad didnt participate in a lot of the activities, there are so many of them to enjoy. All you need do is decide what you want to do and join in. Its a great way to meet people with similar interests. Dad made so many friends while he was living there! And he LOVED his filet for dinner! Thanks, Annette!

My parents moved to the Montecito in 2017. The facility is so spacious and inviting! Staff members are professional, knowledgeable, patient, caring and helpful. Everyone is so friendly! There are many outings and onsite events that encourage the residents to mingle and get to know one another. The grounds are well kept and inviting. This is such a safe environment and we are so happy they chose the Montecito!
January 2020
My Dad lived at Montecito for 2 ½ years, until he passed away. From our first visit we felt it was a great place for him. Since it was converted from independent living to assisted living, he had a full kitchen, which he didnt use often but came in very handy as his mobility was more limited and we could finish cooking a home cooked meal with him in his apartment. We give special thanks to Jill for guiding us to a nice apartment selection for Dad, Janine the Resident Services manager for insuring Dad had the care he needed as his needs increased, Terri for planning and executing the activities that Dad enjoyed and ultimately his celebration of life upon his passing, and a most special thanks to Annette who runs dinning. Annette befriended Dad and gave him the special attention that those suffering with Parkinsons require. She went further to show him attention and a friendship that he relished. While Annette was astonishing, she was just another good example of what The Montecito offers in senior living.

I love this place. Caring staff, filet mignon served daily, Great activities that I can participate in with mom.Her unit has a kitchen even though she no longer cooks and they have all day dining. Also most places I looked did not have balconies. My mom can sit outside with weather permitting and enjoy coffee looking over their swimming pool. I am considering their villa area myself in the future.
November 2018
Wonderful atmosphere, like living in a resort!
January 2018
My Dad has never been happier than here. When I left the area, he moved to another home closer to my sister and was miserable. Few activities, so-so food, etc. We could see him shutting down and only leaving his room for meals. Moved back to Montecito and hes back to his old jolly self, busy with activities and friends, getting around the place in his walker to the point we have to set an appt with him to visit or well never find him!
July 2017
Awesome place to live in retirement days.
November 2015
