I recently had a tour of the facility and it’s beautiful. So many amenities and activities. The apartments are laid out in a convenient style and the updated look is so inviting. I know my Mom will be excited about the pool and social activities.

I'm an almost-resident, moving in at the end of this month - if I survive the move. It's scary how much JUNK you can accumulate after 28 years in the same house. Jensen has been super helpful, and patient with my endless emails, asking her about (in some cases) trivial things. I will update this post, or put in a new one, after I've lived here for a while. I am looking forward to a much simplified existence. And the fish & chips are GREAT! Thanks for lunch on our tour. I had looked at a couple of other senior progressive care facilities in Vancouver. Before we finished the tour, I was ready to sign up. My sister-in-law was with me, and she is a keen observer in situations like this. She gave it 2 thumbs up. Thanks, Brandy!

The people make the difference. Any care center can house its guests. Cogir at the Quarry cares for their physical, mental and emotional well-being. My Mom was skeptical when we introduced her to her new apartment. Her first words on arrival were, "Take me home!" She's been at Cogir at the Quarry for a month. Last night, she said, "Thank you for bringing me here. This place is amazing. Everywhere I go, the staff and the other tenants greet me by name. The staff is always making sure my coffee cup is full. I couldn't ask for more." The key to my Mom's happiness is (a) the leaders who set the tone and inspire the teammates, and (b) the teammates who've been chosen and trained to make a positive experience for the guests. My Mom is precious to our family. Placing our trust in the team at Cogir at the Quarry was the right decision.

The Quarry is a beautiful property.. The staff are delightful. The executive director is absolutely top. notch and runs the place superbly. And best of all, the residents are energetic, super fun, and great dancers to boot. At the recent gala the dance floor was packed and rocking from the first song to the last.

I recently toured a family with Jensen, one of the sales managers at the quarry. She was so kind to my client, went through all the stages with her and ultimately my client chose to place her parents at the quarry! Thank you so much Jensen, for being so kind warm and knowledgeable about what your community had to offer! Shannon Calles, Owner of Clark County Senior Resources

There was no one at the front desk or area upon arrival, not unusual for evening, but I came before 4pm (it was dark outside). The facility was clean, uncluttered. The check-in procedure was quick, label printed. A kitchen employee training session was observed while walking to the north elevator. I hope the elevator flooring will be replaced soon! It's torn and very dirty. Very cool to see all the activities scheduled. Overall, Cogir gave a good impression.

This review is for the Memory Care section of Cogir, and does not apply to Assisted Living or Retirement living sections. I'm sharing this review because I feel like many of the reviews are not hitting on the important points for someone looking for a memory care faciltiy. Having been all the way through this journey, I'll share what I've learned. If you are looking for memory care, you will have challenges, no matter where you go. It is not an easy thing for anyone involved. No facility will be 5 stars everyday, but I'm providing and overall rating from what I've seen over 2.5 years of having my mom there. When you look at a facility, including this one, the marketing team will try to appeal to you, because you are the decision maker. What really matters is what your loved one is going to experience day in, day out. The thing to look for is not how new the furniture is and the facility is (although that is a factor). The thing to look for is how the staff is interacting with the residents. Pay close attention to this. Do your tour with more than one person so you can compare notes after the visit. The most expensive places may not have the most engaged staff. How is the staff interacting? Are they happy or grumpy? Are they calling residents by their name? Do they smile? Do they treat residents with respect? Even on a tour you will see some interaction of staff and residents, and you will get a glimpse of this. These are the people who will interact with your loved one every day, pay close attention, and base your decision on that. Staff turnover is high in all memory care facilities. With a change of management and staff an entire place can change for better or worse in a short amount of time. Reviews from 4 years ago are irrelevant. Even reviews from 2 years ago may, or may not, reflect what is happening today. Our experience is that the current staff at Cogir is as good as you can hope for. They were kind, and engaged. The facilities are good, and they keep the residents engaged with activities. My mom had her own room, with privacy and a lock on the door. Overall It was a postive experience for my mom, better than what I could have provided at home. I would recommend Cogir.

Such a fun time with my five year-old great granddaughter and all the lovely people and creative games and candy. I’m 81 but if I said trick-or-treat, I would get one and a chuckle. Thank you so much.

Cogir at the Quarry is a beautiful facility. The residents here seem very happy and well cared for. The leadership team, especially the Executive Director and the Human Resources counterpart, do a fantastic job of creating a positive environment and truly operate a great team... although the marketing director had some questionable comments made I believe the team tried to be fair.

My mom has been at the Quarry for less than a year. She feels unsafe with all the change of employees and the lack of care. She is self sufficient. The cook in the upper dining area is a complete grump and rude. I've experienced that. I feel they are out for my mom's money. I'm sure this will not show up on your website. I will be following through....very sad and scary.

I had Thanksgiving with my mom at Cogir at The Quarry. The buffet was beautiful with a nice variety, and tasted delicious! All the food was excellent, but what really made my experience nice with my mom was our waitress Ophelia! Her smile and way of making us feel so special made our whole experience just beautiful and festive!

My grandmother has lived here for 5 years. The independent living was great! However, once we moved her to memory care, I was not impressed. The room is always dirty, her laundry is never done on time, other peoples clothes arrive at her room instead of her own. The staff does not communicate with my family about her physical therapy and other matters regarding her care. We are currently looking for a private care home to put her in.
November 2024
I love the kind staff and the clean facility the smell of urine is actually null. A few residents homes smell but. It's not noticable in the halls .

Rebecka provided a wonderful and thorough tour of The Quarry. No pressure - lovely lunch. The staff couldn’t have been nicer in introducing themselves Elizabeth, Colton and Anthony are the backbone of the dining room experience- delicious food and even better wait staff attention. The overall atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, but respectful if you are a resident who wants your space. There are so many spaces to sit with a book or a friend or a puzzle. The list of activities is impressive. The newly renovated rooms are spacious and well-appointed - lots of natural light and good kitchen space. There is nothing not to like about The Quarry!

I like the kind staff. The main entry has a comfortable stately appeal- a nice place to greet company or just read. The food is a definite high spot- a clear winner among local competitors. Newly renovated room is beautiful. I enjoy the multiple dining options.

If I make it to the age of retirement, I'd like to go here. The atmosphere seems so nice, chill while still fun and accessible for the elderly. The employees I've met here are very kind and seem to genuinely care for their clients. The buildings are nice and clean. I went here for an event hosted for the Best of Clark County and the venue was well-decorated. Even better, their chefs are amazing! I would definitely eat at the restaurant here if I could!

The past 2 weeks just verify I made the right decision to move into The Quarry 3 years ago. A minor fall has turned into kind of a big deal, cast & all. The help I have received from transportation to meal service was great. Most of all the care and concern by EVERYONE was like being embraced by a big, loving family. Thanks to all of you! This could have been a very different outcome had I still been living alone.

My grandmother lived with my family for about 8 years, taking care of me when I was young, and my father taking care of her when she needed it. Until one day, she said she wanted her independence back. To our convenience and by coincidence, The Quarry just finished completion and starting accepting people to move in; just blocks away from our house. So we all decided to take a tour. I was immediately blown away at how beautiful the interior was, and my grandma loved it too! My family all decided that the Quarry would be the best place for my grandma to live. During her years there, she took exercise classes to keep her strength up. She would always go down to the dining room to enjoy her meals, as well as invite us over several times a week for family dinner 🙂 It was nice for my family as well, knowing that she was safe in a facility full of people who would be there if she needed it, medically or morally. She made friends with the different house keepers who would come weekly to vacuum her room, and tidy up. She also made friends with the various maintenance staff, who were always there incase she couldn't figure out how to use the tv remote 🙂 During the last year of my grandmothers life at the quarry. Life caught up, and she became frail and sick. The staff was there for us every step of the way, and even made accommodations for my grandma to make her more comfortable during her final days. My grandma loved The Quarry and its staff. The staff was always there for my grandma, when my family and I weren't, and we will always be grateful for that fact. So my family and I wanted to say Thank you to the Quarry! We appreciate everything you guys did for our family and my grandmother, truly a blessing.
July 2016
My dad has lived there for 2 years. This place has literally been life saving. The Prestige (company) facility he was in before this witnessed him lose weight and interest in going forward. He was 86 pounds when i moved him. At The Quarry the care has been excellent and so has the food. Weight and health were restored and he began walking again. They cannot arrest the underlying issues he has, but they have allowed my dad to make the most of what he can do. They are well staffed and there is a big bench of people to turn to. Its also big so that when its hot or cold out there's a lo t to do. They have several activity spaces, there's a theater, a lounge- and here's something else. You never see the residents just lined up somewhere looking into space as you do in some other places. They have excellent events on holidays and there is actually a restaurant and snack bar open most hours- handy for the adult children too.
