We recently moved into Arbor Village. My husband is in assisted living and I am in independent living. We are very happy with the level of care and concern exhibited by all of the staff. We are also quite happy with the rooms-and facility in general. Arbor Village is a beautiful place, inside and out. The dining rooms have an excellent choice of meals. Overall, this has been an excellent move for us.

The caregivers are kind and very attentive. They try to learn words from other cultures to communicate with others. Victoria, Monica, Adina are the best at what they do. My husband resides at Arbor Village and it is a wonderful experience for both of us. The staff treats him with a lot of love and affection and they treat me the same. Moving an extremely independent 90 year old into assisted living is never going to be easy but with the expert help of Arbor Village, we made it happen. After touring three assisted living properties in the Kent/Covington area, Arbor Village stood out for meeting our check listed items. 1) 24/7 nurses available; 2) some transportation provided; 3) front desk manned; 4) nutritious meals; 5) attention given to residents. My mom moved from a senior apartment building with no services, where she was invisible to management to Arbor Village where she is respected, cared for and the staff know her name. She is encouraged to participate in activities, which there are many each week and the daily schedule is posted all around the facility. The nursing staff is top notch and have cared well for my mom and her complicated medical needs. The facility director, Jennifer, has been extremely helpful. Their chef walks through the dining area during service and specifically checks on the residents and know their likes and dislikes. She ordered various kinds of tea and made them available to my mom. The desire of our family was to have our mom-mother-in-law-grandma-great grandma well taken care of and showered with love for the rest of her life. Arbor Village has proven to be a great partner in our quest to make that happen.

Our family visited several senior/assisted living homes searching for a place our mom could call home. Mom joined the Arbor Village family 1 year ago. The entire staff have provided her and her family with kindness and caring friendship on a daily basis.The staff are like family now. They helped her with this huge adjustment and making new friends. My journey into aging and cognitive issues for my parents started suddenly almost 2 years ago and I can’t say enough positive things about Arbor Village. I am SO GRATEFUL to Shauna/Jennifer/Tiffany/Shawn/Carmen & really the whole team at Arbor Village ” they have become an extension of my family, being the only Adult child, having them in my corner and to go above and beyond to help my parents settle in and continue to help watch over them for me when I can’t always be there is invaluable. My Dad was placed first into the Memory Care (The Lodge) and shortly after my Mom moved into the Independent Living building. The care that my Dad received while in Memory Care ” having a structured environment and routines, I believe, is what helped him to be able to move into Assisted Living just 9 months later and my Dad has thrived in the Assisted Living atmosphere. Just knowing that both my parents are safe, being cared for, getting to live their lives in such a beautiful and caring place takes all the pressure off of me. My Aunt (my Dad’s sister) & Uncle also just recently moved into the Assisted Living community at Arbor Village ” everyone is all together there. It makes my heart happy knowing that my Dad & Aunt are just a floor apart now and we can all visit together at one time. I cannot recommend Arbor Village enough. Over the years we have/had 5 family members living there at some point and our family would choose Arbor Village in Kent, WA EVERY TIME!!

Finding a new home for a loved one is never easy, even in the best of circumstances. From the moment we reached out to the team at Arbor Village, we were met with transparent, honest answers to our difficult questions. Their seasoned team provided thoughtful guidance, helping us determine the best fit for our sister, who has a traumatic brain injury (TBI). The transition was seamless, and her new apartment is light-filled and beautiful. Now, after more than a year of living in her new community, we know we made the best decision in supporting her healing journey. The caregivers, chef, kitchen staff, housekeeping team, nurses, and Shauna have all played an incredible role in making her move from memory care to assisted living a beautifully supported growth experience. We are deeply grateful for the compassionate and dedicated people at Arbor Village. Their support has truly made a difference in our sister’s life, and in ours.

If you are searching for the perfect place for your aging parent because you can no longer take care of them, or they can not live on their own and or they need additional medical care, then look no further, Arbor Village in Kent Wa is an awesome solution. Our family had searched for weeks looking at Assisted Living Facilities and from the very first meeting we had with the staff at Arbor Village, we knew this facility would be the best choice for our Mother. The staff were compassionate, caring and communicated everything we needed to know to make our decision. It’s not easy for an elderly person to leave their home and make a move like this but I can honestly say our Mom is happy, she loves her new place and everyone at Arbor Village goes out of their way to make sure her needs are met and she’s happy and adjusting to this new phase of life for her. When we go visit, we are always welcome and greeted by the awesome staff. Honestly we wish our family had more information about Assisted Living Facilities when we were looking, so I’m trying to make it easy for anyone looking, YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED! My mother lived here for a few years. She loved her apartment and the folks she met there. She loved the activities and social events. The dining room is lovely and the food is good. If she didn’t want to come down stairs she could have it in her room. When she became ill she was able live out her final days there. Which was so important to her. She got excellent care and constantly looked after. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones.

Shane, jennifer & they're teams have made a very stressful situation a breeze. They have gone above & beyond the call of duty helping us get elderly family members placed from there assisted living building to there memory care building. We had our backs against the wall & took care of our needs perfectly. We are very pleased with jobs they did for us. Kudos to them & the entire Arbor village staff. Sincerely Fred

Stop before dumping loved one here.I have lived here over one year. Arbor Assisted Living is critically over booked (too many Residents), constantly short staffed. You will be told the "Ratios" are per State Regs - not true. One caregiver per floor, which is now 20 Residents is constant occurrence. Nighttime is one Caregiver and one Nurse for entire Building. Weekends are always short staffed. We are currently running without Nursing Director, she left with no notice. Dozens of Residents go without showers for 3 weeks at a time. Residents are constantly complaining of "no response" when they push communication wrist device. First hand interview with several Residents of abuse; they are afraid of contacting State for fear of retaliation. Meals are a constantly repetitive menu plan. Food portions are small. plates loaded with cheap carbs & starches; protein portions are below FDA regs; proteins are overcooked; rare to serve fresh fruits & veg. Chef is charged with max $2.75 per meal/Res

Arbor Village is a really nice place to live (and visit)! Our family member entered the Assisted Living community in 2017. What she loved most was the hotel look and feel of the lobby and apartments. The rooms are spacious and can accommodate a variety of needs! The staff is caring and attentive and can adapt to changing needs of the residents. There are several activities inside and outside of the community. Onsite services like rehab and visiting professionals - including vaccine/flu shots make keeping family up to date easy!

I have a family member living in the memory care community at Arbor Village. All the staff I’ve interacted with have been very supportive and caring. I live across the country and communicating with my loved one has been a challenge. Arbor Village provides opportunities for me to make zoom calls, send pictures and packages and they are always available to answer questions that arise. I feel confident that the residents are provided a safe, inviting environment and that they are treated with respect and cared for with compassion.

Our mom moved into The Inn, a retirement community at Arbor Village almost 8 years ago, transitioned to Assisted Living & now lives at The Lodge Memory Care, which is a great testimony of the wonderful loving care she has received at all 3 buildings. We were told the residents become family to the staff & found that to be true. They really do their best to give that personal touch to allow for community, growth & dignity to all who call Arbor Village home. They have been there for us, her family, each step of the way. Its very clean & modern with a warm welcoming atmosphere. I gladly recommend Arbor Village.

My parents received dedicated and loving care at Arbor. The staff was welcoming, attentive and became like family to our family. The care was exceptional; responsive and I never worried about my parents and was grateful they were able to be part of the Arbor community. They lived the end of their lives happy, fulfilled, well cared for, challenged and with great dignity and respect. The staff was tireless in their commitment; and well trained. I would recommend Arbor to anyone who asked!

My grandmother & grandfather in law moved into Arbor Village about 4 years ago at the young age of 88 & 92! The staff at Arbor Village was extremely welcoming , full of information , sincere and helped us, the family and them with the transition . 4 years later , my grandfather in law has since passed and grandmother in law is still there . She absolutely loves Arbor Village and considers it her home! We are contacted when needed and they care for a very special lady (Grammy!). They involve us in decisions and ensure that she is safe and happy! We couldn’t ask for any better! Everyone there is wonderful, however , there is one individual who I have known since the very first meeting 4 years ago . Jennifer Shegrud is the epitome of someone you would want working with your family. She cares , goes above and beyond and ensures that the residents are extremely well cared for . Really nice!!I love this community! It is bright and cheerful. I love the continuing care idea.... You can start out in the Independent living building, The Inn. If your loved one needs more care, they can simply move next door to the Assisted Living Building, or Memory Care. The Independent living residents are as busy as they want to be. The monthly calendar is filled with shopping trips, scenic drives, live musicians, lunches out, exercise, and games like Wii bowling, Domino's, Bingo, Bean Bag Baseball, Crossword puzzles, Trivia, music hours, and more! The Assisted Living building has the most caring staff! The nurses are knowledgeable and quick to help if I need anything. There is a lot to keep the residents busy here, too. The Memory Care building has a staff that genuinely cares for its residents. Each 'neighborhood' in the Memory Care is different. They have really used some creative juices when it comes to giving the residents things to do. One neighborhood has an armoire that is filled with frilly clothes that the ladies can dress up in..... cute purses, boas, etc. I love it! In the first photo below, the residents went to the botanical garden in Kent. The second photo is a shot of the residents playing a game in the Theatre Room .... Nice turn out! The third photo shows a lively game of billiards.

Arbor Village is truly an active living community. Each building is kept fresh and clean but they all have a sense of home. They staff is warm and knowledgeable. Friendly and welcoming residents are all around. Everyone is very supportive and smiling. Love the outings and family events. Arbor Village is a place that helps you to get back to being family.

My mom, now ninety-six years old, has been a resident, first at The Inn, then in Assisted Living, at Arbor Village for over four years now. The staff there is exceptional. The care associates treat Mom as if she were their own family, accepting her, caring for her, and, most importantly, respecting her. There is open communication between the nurses, the staff, and the families of the residents. A variety of activities offered daily provides opportunities for exercise, creativity, and socialization. This continues to be a very positive experience for our family and especially for Mom.
