When my relative moved into Abbotswood, he had been turned down by several senior facilities in another city for being a fall risk. Abbotswood quickly said that they could get him set up with therapy to address the problem. They did that. He moved in during the Covid isolation period and the whole staff went over and beyond to lift his spirits and make him feel welcome. The attention and encouragement motivated him to pursue his past interests and soon he started playing music and leading a group. He gained friends and was more socially engaged than I had seen him to be in all of his adult years. He just moved out of Abbotswood to return to independent living in another town and get married. He is a happy man and I thank Abbotswood for being a huge part of his change from a passive and lonely life to an active and happy one

My mother lived at Abbotswood for a short time but it sure felt like home for her. The community has a family feel. The staff and residents are some of the nicest and professional people. Small environment and easy for seniors to navigate.If you want independent living with the option of assistance it’s a great place to live.

We love Abbotswood in Raleigh. It's the perfect place for able body adults who want to live independent lives. The staff is super friendly and easy to interact with if we have any questions. My mom enjoys her apartment and raves about the food and all the fun activities they plan. Highly recommend!!

Perfect for independent elderly folks. Not so great for people with extra needs. My mom required more care and there was great wait time when she pushed the call button. If your parent is abulatory or needs a walker only, it will be perfect. My mom struggled with getting up/walking long distances so it wasn’t a perfect fit. There are social activities & dinner gatherings where they get to see others in a respectful manner. $-expensive, need more staff for struggling elderly, inviting facility, friendly staff (we liked everyone, David Sexton is kind), fireplace downstairs, nice music playing, decorate downstairs for the holidays.

Just walking into the main entrance had such a more pleasant feel than ANY other retirement facility I have been in in Raleigh. Felt more like a home. Friendly personnel. The friends I visited had only praise for Abbotswood.

Abbotswood is a beautiful and caring community. My Mom is very happy living here and I know that she is very well taken care of. The staff members are very caring and really look to provide for all aspects of their residents needs. Their activities are always varied and well thought out. The food is very good and the servers are great. I highly recommend Abbotswood at Stonehenge.

My parents have called Abbotswood home for over a year. From the moment we stepped in we felt the family atmosphere, community, and connections that Abbotswood provides to their residents . My parents enjoy having the independence of their own apartment while benefiting from having three meals daily in the dining hall. They participate in a variety of activities and outings.They are supported by a professional yet loving staff. They feel safe, secure, and are loved. I highly recommend Abbotswood at Stonehenge.

My father spent over four years in Abbotswood and was blessed to be surrounded by such caring staff and fellow residents. The management team was very steady and seemed genuinely to enjoy interacting with the residents. The in-house Legacy therapists were especially helpful in my father's case, often going beyond their normal duties to look out for him. The flexible care level worked well for him during this time, as we needed to adjust that periodically.

After three months I am able to say that my husband and I are happy and content here at Abbotswood at Stonehenge ! Both residents and staff are friendly and caring and also wear smiles. The food is very good and a variety of activities are offered daily . Our apartment is comfortable as are all public areas of this campus . I would recommend this Kisco facility to anyone as well as again choose it for myself !!

Have a family member at Abbotswood and live close by. The staff, with low turnover, has been excellent: responsive, communicative, proactive and professional. The facility is always clean and well-maintained. Abbotswood is well run and cares for its residents.

Abbottswood is the perfect size: small enough that the staff and residents know each other but large enough to be able to offer a range of activities and a good dining service. Some assisted living facilities have a nursing wing or a memory care wing. At Abbottswood, residents stay in their apartment and receive whatever extra care they might need in their apartment. This helps avoid the stigma of needing extra care and avoids a stressful move when a senior begins to struggle with an issue or two.

I can’t think of a better place for my grandmother to have spent the final few years of her life. We all talk often of how grateful we were that we chose Abbottswood because she was in such good hands, especially over the past year as we had to navigate COVID. Even when the community restricted visitation for the safety of the guests, we knew she was in good hands and were glad to have the team at Abbottswood looking out for her. It truly felt like she was home and being cared for by extended family.

My mother, Susan Nelson, recently had an issue in her apartment that left her displaced for a short period. David Sexton and Emily Johnson went above and beyond in every way to make sure she was taken care of. David and Emily both went out of their way even when they weren't working to take her medications and to follow up with her. Their level of care and true compassion for their work and the residents is very rare and extremely appreciated. Thank you for everything you did for my mother and for our family to help us during that difficult time!

Among the most enjoyable years of my mother's life were the ones she spent at Abottswood in Raleigh. Before helping her to move there from Florida, we researched several Raleigh sites, selecting Abottswood for excellent facilities and activities, and even better staff. As I haven't met everyone, I can only send a shout-out to a few although each and every team player deserves our gratitude. This is the place for your mom or dad. As both a daughter and a professional in the senior advocacy field, I love Abbotswood for the warm feel, the staff, the food, the car, the quality and the atmosphere. Taste the food, see the rooms, read in the library, be greeted by the warmest staff (staff that have been there for years!). My mom passed away five years ago and had lived her last nine months at Abbotswood, allowing she and I to enjoy each other and not worry constantly about her care. I recently visited Abbotswood and the receptionist remembered me. Five years later.....This is the place for your mom.

My Mother has lived at Abbottswood for 13 years, and loves it. From her entry at age 82, when she was very active in crafts, events and resident council, until now she has had a great experience. My mom has been at Abbotswood at Stonehenge for 4 years. All of the employees are professional, courteous, and informative. I moved to Arizona about a year ago, and with my mom living at Abbotswood, it gave me the peace of mind to be able to move. I know she is in great hands while I am away. The amenities are great! The transportation provided for doctors appointments two days per week are a blessing. My mom is legally blind and she (nor I) feel comfortable with her taking a taxi. Now she does not have to. I also recently moved her from an upstairs apartment to downstairs with a patio. I find she is getting outside more, going to more classes and events, and going on more field trips. She can go shopping, to the grocery store, and on "joy rides", all provided by Abbotswood. I can not say enough good things about this location. The staff always treat her like family! Five stars, but if I could give more I would! Thank you Abbotswood at Stonehenge!
