My father moved into Morning Star a little over a year ago. I cannot tell you how much he has enjoyed living there. I want to shout out to Ashley, Assistant Director. She is an asset to your organization and a rare person. There are many people that we meet in our lives, but only a few will make a lasting impression and impact. She is one of those people. She truly cares about the staff, visitors and also the residents. I visit my dad almost every day and look forward to running into Ashley. She is positive, professional and truly a caring person. She is considerate, unselfish and has a heart of gold. She is your angel!!! Ashley - thank you for your kindness ad for being the wonderful person that you are. Thanks for taking care of dad and ALWAYS making me feel so comfortable when visiting. I am happy that you are part of my dad's journey!!!!!!!!!!!! As a daughter deeply invested in the care and well-being of my disabled, sick father, finding the right respite care for him was a daunting challenge. My father, bound to a wheelchair and grappling with memory issues due to his MS, requires specialized attention and compassion. He's not just a patient; he's my dad, and his comfort and happiness mean everything to our family. For years, my mother, his devoted wife, has been his primary caregiver. She needed a break, and we needed to find a solution that ensured my father's care and safety while giving her the respite she deserved. Enter MorningStar of Silver Lake. We approached this decision with trepidation, unsure if any facility could meet my father's complex needs while respecting his desire for independence and dignity. We turned to MorningStar twice for respite care, and each time, they exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked through their doors, we were met with warmth, empathy, and professionalism. A huge shout out to Annie in Community Relations who is the perfect face of the program. The staff at MorningStar treated my father not just as a patient, but as a cherished individual deserving of respect and understanding. They took the time to get to know him, his preferences, and his unique challenges, ensuring that his stay was as comfortable and enriching as possible. One of our initial concerns was whether the facility would be able to provide the level of attention and care my father requires, given his aversion to being fussed over. However, we soon realized that MorningStar strikes the perfect balance between attentive care and respecting his autonomy. They were always there when he needed assistance, yet never intrusive or overbearing. While it's true that the facility can sometimes feel busy, it's important to note that this perception is subjective and stems from our own desire to ensure my father's well-being. In reality, the bustling atmosphere speaks to MorningStar's commitment to fostering a vibrant, engaging community for all its residents. In closing, I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and support provided by MorningStar of Silver Lake. They not only provided my father with the care he needed but also gave my mother the peace of mind and rest she so desperately needed. My mom, who has dementia, has been living here for approximately 6 months and we have nothing but good things to say about MorningStar Assisted Living. The director and whole team are pleasant and responsive. The front desk group is always friendly and kind. The assisted living aides and med techs are supportive and encouraging. The cleaning and repair staff are top notch. The dining room/kitchen team are so friendly and always remember Mom's name at meals. The recreation team does a wonderful job coming up with fun events and bringing in varied entertainers. Even the physical therapy team (from EmpowerMe) is excellent. Mom moved across the country, from an equally wonderful facility, to be near me and it was not an initially easy transition. The MS team gave me tips to help Mom and have made me feel like I wasn't alone in this. Mom also reports that the people (residents and workers) are nice and that the food is good. One afternoon when Mom had a fall, the med tech called me right away to let me know what had happened and that Mom was fine. I appreciated that they were proactive in letting me know. It's hard to feel comfortable leaving your parent in an initially strange setting…not unlike leaving your child off at daycare or preschool for the first time. You have to feel that you can trust the people to take care of your special person and to do the right thing when things occur. And with a person who has dementia, "things" will occur! They have been helpful and welcoming from my very first visit (and we looked at 7 different assisted livings prior to choosing MS). Thank you, MorningStar team. We appreciate you all!

My mother has lived at Morningstar Silver Lake for 8 months after living independently until age 92. For years before she moved in, she strongly resisted any suggestions that she consider a senior living community, but a hospitalization after a fall made it a necessity. My siblings and I have been thrilled at her change in perspective over the past months. She has no complaints, has come to look forward to the regular activities, entertainment, dining, and engagement with fellow residents and staff. This is a sea-change for her and a godsend for family members who can breathe easier knowing she is in good hands. Management and staff are unfailingly helpful and kind. I highly recommend Morningstar at Silver Lake.

This is one of the best places to work and therefore the best to have your loved ones live in. I used to work here but relocated to another city. I'm yet to find a better environment than this and I have compared how a lot of things are done in different senior residence places. This is the best. I also did love the idea that the owners are so human!!!

My family and I were very pleased with the care and compassion received at Morningstar by Silver Lake. From the time my Dad was greeted with a red carpet to the day he was honored at the front door after his passing, Morningstar was a Godsend to the family. He spent his final weeks in hospice at the facility and was treated with honor, dignity and great care and treatment. The administration and staff were kind enough to let us have his celebration of life here at Morningstar. It was set up beautifully and they made a challenging time more beautiful with their attention to details and concern for the family. From the aids, to the med techs, to the administration and activities staff, my Dad and the family were treated with the utmost of respect and compassion. My mother was an Assisted Living resident at Garden Court/MorningStar for several years. During that time, the care that the A L staff provided to my mother was excellent and she enjoyed her time there. The aides are dedicated, caring and always responsive. Their programs offer daily activities for exercise, social activities and meal sharing and are top notch. There is always something fun to do there. Their medication management program is an invaluable service and quick to respond to changing needs. The meals are nutritious and were adjusted to meet her changing preferences. I highly recommend GC/MS at Silver Lakes a desirable residence for assisted living.

Beautiful lobby area, Dora always cheerful and willing to help along with Richard, I appreciated their help immensely during my stay at Garden Court.I considered Dora and Richard as special and always going out of their way to help or assist a resident when assistance was needed.I will always remember them, they are special in my opinion and an asset to Garden Court, dedicated, honest, and simply nice people.Other than the above, Garden Court in my opinion is not what it projects to be in its description of itself.The noise factor outside and surrounding is terrible 24, 7 this is not Garden Courts fault but has a severe on impact on ones sleep.The food is not always palatable and at times very good.No privacy, everyone has a key and if they knock and no one heard the knock they let themselves in.ining room closed due to virus, food delivery usually cold, missing items, and the same dishes week after week with no concerns overs carbs and sodium. Enough said other than for me and spouse it was not acceptable so we moved after 2 months.

An amazing place for my 90-year old Dad who just relocated from out of state. Thank you Luke, for short-notice hospitality and tour that completed our search for the perfect place where my Dad can be independent with support for meals and housekeeping. I visited this community a few months ago when looking for a place for my mom. We ended up going with another one closer by, but I have to say Garden Court was one of the nicest we visited and the staff was super friendly and accommodating as well!

My mother lived atGarden Court for almost two years. She passed away in March. She was 98 years old. The gracious support , the caring from the staff is beyond words. Although she left many new friends behind , I also feel that I have too. Myvery favorite place to live and our son, George, is looking forward to the time when he moves there. Wish our health would permit us to go back. Oh, well, have lots of happy memories. I am 95 and Ed is 104 so no more moving for us. Hope the new owners are as super as the original ones were. Loved them and their 3 kids.

Garden Court is a wonderful place! From the moment mom walked in the front door she felt comfortable and at home. The lobby was bright and open. The staff were so warm and welcoming. It was so important to mom to have space for her kitchen table since that is where she and dad spent their mornings. The apartment easily accommodated that and more.Mom and dad started with independent living. Mom wanted to continue doing as much as she could. She enjoyed having someone else do the vacuuming and basic cleaning. She also liked not having to cook every day. She had a nice kitchen that allowed her to make her cookies and treats for when family would visit. Mom participated in many of the activities and would have liked to participate more. Every day was something different.Over time we had to used the Assisted Living services for both mom and dad. The AL staff were so wonderful. They were responsive to all their needs. When mom went on hospice, the AL staff not only cared for her, but they made sure the surrounding family had plenty of hugs. They helped develop a plan of care that included not only mom and dads needs but the family needs. The entire staff were so wonderful! I cant begin to thank them enough for the wonderful care and caring they showed both mom and dad.

Garden court is a amazing community. From the kitchen to housekeeping staff everyone here makes garden court a vibrant community. This community is alive and there are so many great activities and each month they have planned a trip to different counties that they are learning about. The residents have beautiful gardens they plant outside. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. They have a cute bistro where frozen yogurt is available. The activities range from swimming to trips to local restaurants..I would give this facility 5 stars and it is worth a stop for lunch or just a tour!!!
