Mom recently had to move to assisted living and Northgate Plaza has proven to be better than expected in every way. All staff - administration, dining room servers, nursing staff, activities directors, housekeepers, care giverseveryone(!) - are kind, helpful, and warm. Mom spent a few months in a very large, expensive, and supposedly top-of-the-line assisted living/rehab facility. After the glitzy first impressions wore off, it revealed itself to be a place with deep foundational cracks (and possible medical negligence). In contrast, Northgate Plaza is on the smaller side - an older structure that has been modernized here and there. But what is most apparent is that NG Plaza has prioritized and put its resources behind finding the best people. Everyone is warm, friendly, interested, and appears proud of their work. I have spent time staying with mom in her apartment to get her settled, and without exception everyone on staff meets this standard. There are great human beings with good hearts working here. And I think it’s noteworthy to add that after spending time eating and socializing with mom’s new friends, residents here are happy. This place is absolutely a community, and it shows in how everyone(!) knows each other and interacts with each other. What a great place!

I moved my Dad here in November of 2025. He was very reluctant to leave his home, so the wonderful team at Northgate Plaza invited him to their special Veterans Day luncheon, which was the perfect way for him to experience the facility. The move-in process was excellent, and my kids and I always feel welcome when we are there. There is a very good energy about the place - people are out and about, which I appreciate. He loves the food, and all the staff I've met are very kind. He is finally getting nutritious meals, social interactions, and the careful medication management he was unable to sustain at home. He's not exactly jumping at every activity, but he has made a few friends and seems to know a lot of people when I visit him for meals. Safety was another big factor in the decision to move him, and I appreciate the monitors the residents wear. I am grateful that staff keep tabs on him!

Kind and friendly staff who greet all residents by their first names, large modern ADA rooms, plenty of activities to choose from all week long (weekends included) and welcoming dining room open 7am to 7pm. My mom is very well cared for!

I moved in to Northgate Plaza in the middle of January, on the advice of a longtime-friend-- and I'm very glad I took that advice. After living in my home for 60 years, I was becoming more isolated, especially as it became harder to get out and do things. My son lives in an adult family home. So this move felt like an important step, and I'm truly happy I made it. Since moving here, I've made new friends and really enjoy the variety of activities offered. Especially the live music.There are also games and card activities that make it easy to stay engaged and social. The food is outstanding, nutritious, well balanced, and always delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The staff are consistently helpful , polite and personable , which makes a big difference day to day. It is also comforting to know that if I need more care in the future it will be readily available. I'm enjoying getting to know people, sharing stories and building new friendships. Everyone I've met here has been friendly, interesting, and the pleasure to spend time with.

I moved my mother-in-law into Northgate Plaza back in August, and as someone living out of the country, having her here has truly given me peace of mind knowing she is safe and well cared for. Since moving to Northgate Plaza , she has made many new friends and is absolutely thriving. It has been such a comfort to see her so happy and engaged. I'm especially grateful for the support Michelle has given our family. Nicole made us feel welcomed from the moment we first walked in, which meant so much. Lisa and Denise always greet me with friendly smiles, and it's clear that every team member genuinely cares. All of the staff at Northgate Plaza are amazing, and I couldn't be more thankful for the environment they've created.

Outstanding staff of caregivers at all levels such as Michele, Denice, Nicole , Lisa K. , CeCe, Ziva, Genet and Daniella plus many others. They are always willing to go that extra mile to help us residents. A warm, friendly environment always exists and provides a feeling of comfort and safety. If I needed assisted living, I would live here. A social worker contacted me regrading my client, who could no longer live independently, and highly recommended Northgate Plaza. Her care was so appreciated. She was blind from birth. The whole team accommodated her needs in anyway they could. Their staff work & appreciate one another, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I especially like that it’s a smaller establishment with an inviting entrance. There’s more but I’ll leave it at that.

Adequate. Was a good budget friendly option. Care team is kind but seems to be understaffed. We receive a lot of synonyms of that’s not my job which is not a good experience in interacting with leadership and has lead to challenges in coordination of care. Instilling a culture of serving residents and their families, who are their support system and at times lifeline would go miles. Unfortunately, the attitude toward family seems to be more dealing with than serving when staff is busy due to other goings on in the community. Working with residents and their support network or family is critical in this population of changing needs. Example: When speaking with the nurse about updated medication orders that were not in my family member’s file/chart I was told faxes from <insert name of large medical institution here> haven’t been coming through lately. Lately we just get the cover sheet nothing else That sounds like that’s not my job. If the nurse would have said we’ve contacted or we’ve been working with <insert name of large medical institution here> because their faxes aren’t coming through correctly lately, let me check on that would have been taking ownership and would have assured me that my loved one is taken care of.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warm, welcoming environment and the genuine sense of community that fills the space. The event itself was a testament to the care and professionalism of the staff. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, and it was clear that the team at Northgate Plaza takes great pride in supporting important causes while also fostering connection among residents and guests alike. The facility was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and inviting. I had the opportunity to tour one of the residential units with Nicole Pratt, and I was impressed by how spacious, comfortable, and warm it felt”it truly felt like home. Perhaps the highlight of my visit was meeting some of the residents. They were fun, friendly, and full of personality, offering a wonderful glimpse into the vibrant life within the community. The staff members I encountered were consistently polite, professional, and attentive, further reinforcing the high standard of care provided at Northgate Plaza. I think that Northgate Plaza is a wonderful facility. I loved her with my husband in 2019, they were great with him and treated him with love, respect, and care. After he passed away in 2021, I then moved out as I didn’t need assisted loving, but after a few months I was lonely and asked if I could return. I love the fact that I don't have to shop, cook, and clean. Now I have lived at Northgate plaza since 2021, and I am very happy. The facility is run beautifully with a great Director and excellent management team. Michelle, Brian, Denise, Lisa T, Joe, and our nurse Mindy are amazing. They are all personable, caring, competent, and always go above and beyond. We have some great events for all to enjoy, including ice cream socials, carnivals, and weekly musical performances by talented singers. I have made some very good friends here and there is a sense of community. It’s is not a place just for older adults, but also for people like me who are still energetic and social. I do travel to Palm Springs during the winter and when I return my room is clean and I warm meal is waiting for me when I get back. I highly recommend Northgate Plaza as a great place to live, where all my needs are met. I give Northgate Plaza and its outstanding management team an A++.

Whether you’re looking at a large studio, or a one- or two-bedroom, each unit offers comfort, privacy, and a real sense of home. But what really makes Northgate Plaza shine is the people. The entire team”from Executive Director Michelle, who is always on top of things and deeply invested in the well-being of every resident, to Health and Wellness Director Mindy, who ensures care is personalized and thorough, to Director of Sales Nicole, who moves mountains to find just the right apartment for each future resident”they are all exceptional. I have been involved with NorthGate Plaza for several years and have observed the staff and residents of the community to be extremely pleasant and welcoming. My personal encounter with the management and directors has been quite remarkable. I have observed them to be cautious, considerate, and resourceful towards the residents who reside there. I have assisted many elderly individuals to relocate to various senior living communities within many counties, and I have found North Gate Plaza to be one of the most desirable communities to reside in.

Due to some sudden health issues my mother was unable to continue living independently on her own. After touring countless assisted living facilities throughout the Seattle area, Northgate Plaza turned out to be the perfect place for my mother.....and not just for her, but also for our families peace of mind as well. The transition was seamless and very easy on my mom, especially after we got her all settled in. Northgate Plaza is great facility, and it starts with their staff. They are VERY friendly and also extremely accommodating. She is now thriving again and extremely happy in her new home. If you're looking for an assisted living facility in Seattle for one of your loved ones, our family would highly recommend Northgate Plaza as an option, as they will truly enjoy living there!

I just toured Northgate Plaza. Nicole was a wonderful tour guide! We had lunch in the dining room. Large variety of choices and the food was great. The residents I was introduced to were all very friendly and welcoming. Nicole showed me 3 apartments, all very nice. Nicole spent 3hours! With me and I enjoyed every minute. We moved our mom to Northgate Plaza a couple of months ago. She loves it there!! The move-in process was made easy with the guidance of Nicole, Michelle and Brian.The staff is all wonderful and very helpful. Our mom feels like she is at home. Our mom loves the activities, special outings and having transportation provided to her medical appointments. The meals are delicious and the servers take time to get to know her and her food preferences. Our mom was able to bring her little fur baby with her which has been a blessing. She enjoys the guest musicians and sing-a-longs. One of her favorite activities is playing the game, Pokino, several nights a week with the other residents!

My mom has been living at MBK Northgate for about six months now. There were some hiccups during the onboarding because of some miscommunication between staff members, but over time they resolved themselves. The care staff here are excellent, if pricey (cost of care increases every year, separate from the rent increase). We ended up hiring an additional private caretaker because my mom needs more help right now, but I'm happy with MBK's staff as a pricier backup option. Phil is absolutely incredible as a staff member and always makes my mom laugh (he also puts on great weekly guitar concerts). The food is decent and the headchef is outstanding and goes above and beyond to accommodate my mom. I toured countless assisted living facilities in Seattle including Aegis, Merrill, etc, and I've been very happy with MBK as a combination of price, quality, and caring staff members. I find often more expensive facilities don't necessarily provide more care, just more expensive furniture.

What a beautiful community! I attended the Holiday craft fair and also took a tour of a lovely two bedroom unit. The Holiday event was full of craftspeople, artisans and sprinkled with culinary surprises. The two bedroom was spacious with two bathrooms and an airy kitchenette with a gorgeous back splash. It was a space easy to call home.

Just wanted to give Northgate Plaza a big-time positive shout out. Our mom is a resident there for a couple of months now and the care and attention to her needs has really been top notch. EVERYBODY there is genuinely kind and excellent at what ever role they fill at Northgate Plaza. We're grateful that mom has a safe and compassionate place to be. More important is that her experience is very positive and she's very happy with her living experience. Northgate Plaza (MBK senior living) and the employees are great. All employees are always ready and willing to help. The grounds and faculties are clean, neat and well taken care of. Nichole and Michelle in the front office are very welcoming, professional and very knowledgeable. Front desk Lisa and Lisa. Both do an amazing job with residents. Providing info and help. Joe in maintenance department is a top quality guy. Who shows he really cares about the facility and it's residents. Does great work. Dan in the dining hall is top notch, with his great, friendly service. David the nurse make sure all residents are well cared for. Bottom line. This is a very happy, friendly place to stay and visit. The move-in process was easy and seamless. Looking forward to meeting and knowing more of the staff.

Northgate Plaza is a good place for a person of retirement age to live. My mom has lived there nearly 11 years and although she has tried other places she always returned to Northgate. Staff like Michelle, Nicole, Ziska, Lisa(2), David, Gemet and CeeCee are always welcoming and accommodating.

Michelle played an instrumental part in helping our family place a loved one in an adult family home. We had no idea how to begin our search. Michelle reached out to facilities and basically did the leg work for us. The one we chose was someone she highly recommended. From the first time I visited Northgate Plaza , I experienced the warm and friendly atmosphere of the staff and residents. I made a decision that this was the place I wanted to live. The administration is open to changes that residents suggest and meet with us monthly. The cook and the Residents’ Council also meet with us and try to implement ideas or give reasons why the idea can’t be implemented. All this openness is greatly appreciated. The activities are varied and provide the residents with stimulating experiences in different areas. In one day a resident can participate in two or three exercise classes, play bridge, or scrabble, go on an outing and enjoy a sing-a-long. Many activities are resident directed. Individuals share their talents in writing, art, languages, word games, travel and science topics. It is a lively, informative and inspiring community. I have a difficult time limiting staff who have helped me. I have witnessed heroic behavior in all of them. During a time when I needed a lot of support Bati was outstanding in lifting my spirits and giving me excellent care. Cece also gave me excellent care during my recovery. Lisa K. has given me constant support in all my daily needs. She is always cheerful and helpful. My cleaner,Asha, has consistently done an excellent job cleaning my apartment. I also appreciate her calm and beautiful soul.

I just wanted to take a moment to recognize one of your employees who assisted me in my search for a potential new home for my 74 year old mother. Alisha Cartwright went above and beyond to answer all questions that I had to accommodate my mother's needs. She was polite, and empathetic to our needs, and very professional about some of the extra care that may be required for her. I walked away feeling well informed and at ease. Our decision has plagued us both with anxiety over a residence, and Alisha helped to calm our concerns dramatically. Cheers, Alisha! I've been in and out of Northgate Plaza many times and have always had a very positive experience. It's a beautiful, clean facility with the most friendly staff. My 83 year old father is very happy, having spent his first year at Northgate Plaza. The staff is great, and there are lots of nice parties and entertainments provided. Northgate is an attractive place, full of light and friendly staffers. Having good food served in the dining room is one of the most important aspects of a senior community. Residents are paying for two meals a day and having delicious and nutritious food is important for their health and their social experience. When my mother-in-law first arrived in May the food was beyond bad. Thank God that has changed. One meal I attempted to eat in May was a piece of pork so thin, dry and tough, I questioned whether it was meat or brown paper card stock. It was topped with a gelatinous glob of sugary sauce that was equally inedible. It was par for the course there. But this month, the food has gone from YUK to YUMMY. Just this week, I made a special order: a vegetable salad topped with saut©ed chicken breast. The salad was cold, crisp and full of fresh greens and vegetables. But the crowning glory was the perfectly cooked chicken: caramelized on the outside and juicy and tender inside. All other meals at the table were equally great. Keep that new chef!!!! That chef has his work cut out for him with the wait staff, which badly needs training. Although friendly, they seem confused and lost. I wonder at times if I accidently donned Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak when I walk into the dining room and sit down. Each time I have had to approach the kitchen and ask for help. Once food is ordered, you never know when or in what order the meals will come. Never together, and never exactly what each person ordered. Training is in order! And I must say, these residents have been out to restaurants many times in their lives. They expect better service. And they are paying well for it. Also friendly, and very efficient in their jobs are the maintenance crews. They are there a flash to lend a hand or help out in the apartment. Top notch. The marketing staff is great. Cindy Weber won us over on our first tour, arranged for a second tour for our mother-in-law and knew just what to say to help her to make that difficult move to a community. She has been an invaluable resource to our family ever since. She responds quickly to calls and gets things done! She is fabulous. We are starting our second month with Northgate and are looking forward to a positive experience.

Sally Casem I enjoy Sally's cooking not only because it is more like what I'm used to having but they taste good. Also she tries to incorporate many different styles of cooking. Recently she has been putting an translation or explanation of some of the cooking terms used in the entree titles that might be unfamiliar to the residents. This tells us that she is listening to how the various residents feel. That is the sign of a good Chef I think.
