Amber Fortenberry and her staff are amazing. My dad was there for a short time. He passed in July. Amber n her staff went above and above to make his final days comfortable. They helped me thru a difficult time. They were like family to me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so compassionate and caring. I would recommend Birch Ridge to anyone who needs a place for a loved one.

Please, please, please, anyone looking here, disregard the cousins at large "review". That is more a rant of a disgruntled employee. Yes, there has been a high turnover but it's not the fault of the facility or manager Ola Apata, it's been due to employee's own conduct of not showing up, not doing their jobs, etc. How do I know? My Mother is there, and I've seen how some act towards residents, carry themselves around visitors, their general attitudes and dealing with other staff members is not what should be happening. I have never heard nor seen any racism, harassment, disrespect, unfair labor duties claimed in the cousins at large posts nor has my Mother voiced anything of that nature to me and she would. Apparently cousins at large have only shown they didn't, couldn't, wouldn't live up to the job requirements of Ola and the facility. Since Ola Apata became manager, he has worked so hard to get a caring staff willing to work in order to get a good, reliable team together. He has supported his staff without complaint when employees don't show or even call in, he jumps right in to help out. I've seen him talking with staff, never saw one mad after their conversations. He's not afraid to do anything he expects from the care givers. He's working had to improve the facility to make it as nice as he can for the residents and their families. Changes don't happen overnight but since corporate brought him in, there has been positive changes, and they continue to happen. Unfortunately trying to get reliable workers is difficult but Ola continues to search for them, not settling for just anybody. He appreciates his staff and lets them know it, his office is open to them if they want to talk with him. As stated earlier, Ola wants a good, dependable staff and to see the facility improve and I believe under his leadership it will happen. I've met with him on several occasions and found him to be responsive, professional and open for discussions if there are concerns.

This community has amazing care for its residents and a wonderful attentive care team. It has such a comfortable home like appeal with a beautiful county setting and scenery.
