This particular review is for the activities people Brandi and Joel. Brandi Eybs is the coordinator. The activities they come up with day after day are quite motivating for the residents. I like how they will go to the second floor and get my mother-in-law from her room to participate in the activities. Also a shout out to Samantha who manages the front desk. She is always very welcoming when we come to visit.

I can’t say enough good things about Dan at Morningside EC! I called looking for information for a relative, and although the facility isn't the right fit for us, Dan reached back out to offer incredible advice and resources to help our family on our care journey. I have spoken to many people this afternoon, but Dan was the only one who offered this level of genuine support. He truly cared about helping us navigate all the care resources. Every time I am there for an event or hosting an activity, the residents are well cared for; in fact, loved. This community regularly hosts engaging activities for residents and their outside family to attend. Jennifer Ghartey is always willing to meet and discuss ways to bring resources together to support the residents there!

Let’s give a more realistic review than asking the employees to just put in 5 stars with no reviews. The place is okay. My parent does not like the food and says everything is soft and processed. The prices continue to increase and the services seem to be dwindling. When first started transportation to appointments were available and now apparently that is only Tuesday thru Thursday now. Also average time to answer call button is 30 minutes so hopefully someone does not have a heart attack. It does smell like urine most times in hallways. Many times when visiting the beds have not been made and trash needs to be emptied. The health providers are good, front desk is nice and higher levels positions are professional. Floor aids have high turnover and are hit or miss.

My rating is based on my tours only. Too bad my mom did not choose Morningside but because of the attention and my tour experience I wanted to review them. We had lunch there. All the food we tried was very good. They know how to make fries. 🙂 Based on my experience with other assisted living places, I would say the food is about a 7 out of 10. Some of the pairings are interesting, which is why I don't go higher. For example, baked beans were served to us with a seafood salad on croissant. Kind of an odd combo. That said, my my mom loved the beans. The menu is better than other places but also not the best I've seen. Overall the building is quite elegant. There are many places on the first floor to hangout and chill or chat. The lobby is very airy and bright. The grounds are very nice. You can hear route 29 while you're outside but there are tall, mature trees all around the property and you don't see 29 at all. Several residents were quite complimentary of Morningside. One of my favorite things was the 1 bedroom apartment. The layout and amount of space was impressive! The kitchenette area could have a bit more counter space. For example, my mom has a coffee machine in her current facility. There isn't much counter space here to make that feasible. At the moment, they allow smoking and seem to have a reasonable approach to it. That can change so I won't go into details. It is good to know though because many places don't allow smoking. Something I understand but is frustrating to expect of the boomer generation. They throw a special party monthly to visit a different country/area. These are well attended by residents' family even. We got a glimpse of the Paris event because some of the beautiful decorations were still up. I love that they are very engaged with the resident's family, encouraging them to attend events. If the time comes that I need to move to assisted living, I would definitely consider Morningside. The one thing that I had some angst about was the darkness of the living areas, specifically the hallways. There were windows around except at the ends of the hallway. Combined with darker paint in places and dark carpet, it felt somewhat closed in. That's an aesthetic thing. I left our tours feeling confident that this is a quality facility with caring staff.

This is the fourth facility my parents have tried since my Dad’s health issues required them to give up their home. Morningside House is by far the BEST experience we have had and we are so very blessed and thankful The physical and social aspects are so very pleasant, clean and consistent. The staff are professional, respectful, caring, efficient, supportive and responsive. Highly recommended

Our whole family has had a wonderful experience with Morningside House, from the initial welcome all the way to the final goodbye. The staff and admin there demonstrated nothing but care & attentiveness to my father, which was such a comfort to us since he was in such a vulnerable state. I will walk away with a special place in my heart for Morningside House. And although I don’t know if I will ever be in a position in the future to recommend an assisted living facility to anyone in the Baltimore area, if I am, I will happily, enthusiastically refer them to you all.

I came in for a tour and meeting with Dan Giller and he was so compassionate and understanding as we discussed my family members care. You can tell that the staff at Morningside love what they do! By the end of our meeting, I realized that this facility was out of my budget, but he connected me with another person that could possibly help me find facilities in my budget and I was just so thankful. A beautiful community for my Mother in Law! It has been a difficult transition for Mom but the ENTIRE staff at Morningside House has worked with us to get her in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable lifestyle. The facility is very beautiful and every single staff member we’ve encountered is professional, kind and helpful. Special kudos to the Nursing/Med Tech staff who are 100% on top of it and have been excellent problem-solvers and communicators. It is a relief to have Mom settled and happy.

My mom has been at Morningside House of Ellicott City since February 2020 an she loves living here. There are so many activities for the residents to do. The staff are very helpful and caring, AnnMarie, Christina and Maureen, mom's Med Techs are on top of her health situation daily. Every staff person knows the residents by name, making it a friendly warm atmosphere.

My dad has been a Morningside resident (Memory Lane) for the past 5 months now. The facility is well-maintained and very clean!! As his daughter and former full time caregiver, I have peace of mind knowing that his needs are being met in a professional and caring manner. Very grateful to Dan, who helped us through the application/move-in process, to Kim and Melissa, who made sure he transitioned well, and most importantly, I’m grateful that my dad has people like Carmelita and so many other wonderful caregivers who interact with him every day to ensure that he is comfortable, content and engaged with other residents during meals and different activities. At the end of every visit, I can clearly see that my dad is doing incredibly well.

My wife and I were delighted to find Morningside for my mother-in-law, who moved to the community in May. We use the term community because that’s exactly what it is: a group of caring staff and welcoming residents who have made her transition a true success. Every member of the staff is both caring and professional, no matter what their role. We visit often and have gone from being 90% caregivers and 10% family to 90% family and 10% caregivers. A blessing for the two of us, and for my wife’s mother.

Morningside Ellicott City-My mother has been a resident for almost three years. She is happy and feels safe. The staff is friendly and very attentive to her needs. My Mom is 91 this year and she has lived in several assisted living since she turned 80, because she can't walk, Morning side is the only place that she said she really liked. I would always call her to ask her how her day is going, the answer would always be not good, so- so, it is what it is. But when she moved to Morning side it has always been, Im, doing good, I'm great, I love it here! I have to say it is the staff! Great job and God Bless everyone at Morning side!!!!!!

My mother in law is a resident at Morningside of Ellicott City. She is very happy there and the staff is very attentive of her needs. They respond quickly to requests we make for support. I would like to give accolades to the following three individuals: Carmelita, Matt and Albert, who work on the Memory Lane floor. The three of them give extra attention to the residents, especially Carmelita. Carmelita goes above and beyond when taking care of my mom and the other residents. She is very attentive and always communicates anything to me that she feels needs to be addressed when it comes to my mom. The two gentlemen (mentioned above) are attentive as well. I am pleased that these three staff members work on the Memory Lane floor where my mom resides.
