A few months ago we visited this facility. With other places we visited this one was the one that felt like we were home. Everyone made us feel welcome. Building is smaller to other facilities we visited. You want a Community that everyone pitches in and help this is the one. The building looks nice from the parking lot to all around facility. It was decided a family member would be move here. Since move In they have been still friendly and very helpful with the needs of our love one. The friendships with residents already have been made. The staff is there for they residents and treats them like family.

My mother would not be alive if it wasn’t for the watchful and compassionate staff at Dominion Village at Poquoson. She had a stroke. You only have 2 hours to treat a stroke. The staff found her within an hour and called 911. The clot was removed and we still have our mother with a great outcome. I’m a Family Physician. I looked at several facilities.I knew when you look at facilities for your loved one you want to look at the Patient/Staff ratio. Marble counter tops and fancy interiors aren’t going to take care of your loved ones. Dominion at Poquoson had the best Patient/Staff ratio I could find. It paid off for my mother and for our family. I can’t thank the staff at Dominion Village at Poquoson enough.

Rayna and her staff are amazing. I recently moved my mother in and everyone has bent over backwards to make sure that her transition has been smooth. From nursing to dietary and maintenance, everyone has been very helpful with mom's needs. I look forward to visiting mom and getting to know the staff better. Food looked and smelled delicious. So... 2 years ago my father was here and passed and then the following year my grandmother was here for the last few months of her life. I can't say enough good things about everyone there. They were beyond accommodating to say the least. I stayed every single night with my grandmother until her passing. That is not a lie either. I came to know the workers and residents and it was like a "little family" there. I think about some of the residents often and it's great to see their faces in the pictures on Facebook. My grandmother was pretty much bed ridden, had a different bath/meal time then the other residents and every worker made sure she was comfortable while I was at work until I could get there at 4 p.m. There's quite a few workers there to name them all but I have to give an extremely big thank you to Neisha, Leah, Maggie, Kathryn, Cindy, Renae and especially Rayna. I hope you're all doing well and cannot thank everyone at Dominion enough. You will all be forever in my heart and debt. Tell Leroy and Theo to behave now. . I miss those two guys.

It’s been 2 yrs, since my mom (Pecola)passed at Dominion Village. When I say a great place for the elders, it is a great place.Anytime it was time for my mom to go and stay there for a few weeks when I had to go out to sea, she truly enjoyed it. I would like to thank the staff for making her feel at home.

Did a tour yesterday with Cindy F. She was wonderful and very information! She answered all out questions that we threw at her. She took time to answer all our questions even though she knew we were looking down the road. We loved her Southern accent and her caring personality. Cindy rocks.

This past year I had the pleasure of having a family member stay and unfortunately live their last days here.... All I can say is over the time I spent here I became close with the team members who all find a way to help in anyway they can and go above and beyond expections! This is the best place I could have put my mom. They were so attentive to her and helped her and called in doctor when she needed, especially towards the end. I could not have asked for better care. They kept me very well informed on everything that she needed and her medical/ physical health. Gave me a great piece of mind . I just can't say enough.

We have been EXTREMELY pleased and thankful for the level of care and attention that they have given to my mother. Our mom is 88 years old and we thought it would be a very difficult transition into assisted living however she has absolutely loved it. The staff have made her feel right at home. The conditions are very nice and comfortable. I could not say a single bad thing about Dominion Village. I would like to sincerely thank the staff (Raina and Cindy) and the incredible nursing staff are second to none! The dining and food director (Gwen)/staff have been so accommodating and caring. The activities director Renee, is fabulous, My mom LOVES BINGO! as well as the many other fun activities. Its more like a family at Dominion, Its a home away from home! A special thank you to Lucy, You have been more than a great nurse, you have shown extreme kindness to our Mom! We can not express in words what that has meant to our family. The staff is amazing, kind and considerate. The management is just Wondeful. Rayna, the executive director is dedicated to the care of all the residents and most importantly to improving their lives. You couldn’t ask for a better community. Their ability to work with a home health agency like Amedisys to make someone happier, healthier and stronger shows amazing team work and the nursing staffs ability to recognize when residents are in need and be proactive to their needs. They are not just a number at this community.

I have had the opportunity to visit this facility many times as a nurse from an outside company. The staff truly care about their residents and their well being. The facility is well maintained and always have activities. It has a real home feeling.

Whenever I go visit patients in Dominion Village, the staff are always friendly, very helpful and attentive to the patients. The staff seems well organized with numerous patient activities. Whenever I have eaten there, the food has been very tasty. Dominion Village always seems clean and the beds are always made whenever the patients are not sleeping.

I've had three close relatives live out their days at Dominion Village at Poquoson. The staff are warm and friendly. They treat the residents with kindness and respect. The facility is assisted living, so skilled nursing care should not be expected. The building needs upgrades for accessibility, and services were decreased during our six years due to corporate cuts. Nevertheless, we were very pleased and thankful to be part of the DVP family for six years.

I own a business just down the street from Dominion Village, and walk my little shop dog every day. We stop to chat with Ms. Ray, when she and others are sunning on the front porch. These lovely folks are well taken care of, and love company. The staff (some of whom I have known for many years) are competent and loyal and caring. Just the right place in just the right little town!
