When my mom needed to go into assisted living, the family (and Mom) toured most of the facilities in the area. By far, the most impressive was, and is, Rosewood Village. In the five years that our mother was a resident of Rosewood, she developed a close friendship with the staff and management, as well as many of the residents. And when she passed away, at (almost) 105 this month, the staff at Rosewood went out of their way to make the family feel welcomed and even offered to host a memorial for her later. I would definitely recommend Rosewood Village to anyone seeking assisted living or memory care.

I was impressed at the begining and the whole time my wife was there for 3 years.From the management team to the hard working caretakers my wife got excellent care and they became my family away from home.I suggest you give them a try and believe you will not be disappointed.

I am a local family physician in Charlottesville. I placed my mom at Rosewood Village (Greenbrier Dr) since I had heard from patients and colleagues about the great care that they received there. I was not disappointed. They delivered excellent and loving care during her stay. The staff is friendly and personable. At Rosewood Village, there is a family atmosphere.

I cannot say enough good things about Rosewood. I have been an RN in the area for nearly 30 years. A few years ago I was living with an caring for the 87 year old father of a friend who had a series of strokes. The hospital placed him in another local nursing home where the PT was infrequent and the care was fair to poor and he wasn't doing well. All he wanted was to return home. After transfer to Rosewood his improvement was startling to me. The PT was frequent and very good. He was a "high maintenance" individual and the staff there handled his "episodes" with kindness and a sincere care. The food was also very good. They were very easy for me to work with, both during daily visits and when he got truly belligerent. His son and I were happily surprised when he progressed physically to the point that we brought him home. I have been in Healthcare for a long time and have worked in many different venues, from ICU to Acute Care, from Assisted Living to Home Care. No place is perfect in every instance but our experience at Rosewood was extraordinary. From the management to the caregivers, I was impressed with them all, and his son and I want to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Alan and the entire staff.

I am an occupational therapist at greenbrier and I can not say enough about the team approach with our residents. The direct care staff addresses the needs of our residents and the nursing coordinators ensure any medical concerns are addressed. The activities department plans group outings and activities as well as one on one interactions to ensure our residents are engaged and stay active. The admissions coordinator makes for a smooth transition into our facility . This team approach ensures the success and active lifestyle that facilitates individuals functioning at their highest level .

The staff and management are the key to the welcoming, comfortable living experience at RoseWood Village GREENBRIER. My 95-year old Aunt has now been living at RoseWood Greenbrier happily for 5 years. As her closest relative, I've had extensive opportunity to witness staff-resident interactions. Residents are related to/spoken to as adults and treated with kindness and compassion, plus humor when appropriate. Staff know all the residents by name. Staff and management are always responsive to both residents and family members. The food is good, the apartments and public areas are lovely and well maintained. RoseWood Greenbrier is by far the best of the three assisted living facilities in which relatives of mine have lived. My thanks and admiration go to each staff member and to the family ownership, all of whom deserve extra recognition for their perseverance during the short staffing and extra duties that came with the pandemic.

Rosewood Village has been a blessing for my mother in law and my husband and I. The staff here are kind, compassionate and go out of there way to meet your needs. From the first meeting with Olivia I knew this was the best place for my mother in law. On admission my mother in law told The CNA that she liked her bracelet. Patria immediately took it off and gave it to her. I found all the staff to be extremely caring and sincerely wanting what was best for everyone. I only wish I knew about Rose Wood earlier, my mother in law would have loved having more time here. Everyone has exceeded my expectations. Thank you to the entire team on behalf of Nancy Eyler. I moved my Mom to Rosewood and have only positive things to say about the experience. Olivia Kitlinger (Director of Sales) was attentive to our needs and addressed every question and concern. She was also understanding of the emotional transition a family experiences and offered encouragement and reassurance. The staff was SUPER on move-in day, including Olivia and Alan. What touched me the most was hearing the employees share their excitement of their jobs (most of them with 15+ years of service at RW). They shared smiles, they made Mom feel welcome, and they reassured me that she would be in good hands.

I moved my mother here 6 weeks ago from another senior living community in town and have nothing but positive things to say about Rosewood, both the facility and the staff. From the outset, the Director of Sales, Olivia Kitlinger did an exceptional job. When I first met her, I was concerned she was young and wouldnt have the experience to educate us about an Assisted Living facility , but I was wrong. She was so positive and upbeat , confident in the product she was selling , while NOT putting pressure on us in an already stressful situation. Rosewood spoke for itself ! Its clean, bright , cheery , decorated for all seasons and holidays. My mom and I are always greeted by all the staff who know us by name. Alan and Olivia were so helpful on move In day and have gotten my mom engaged in Physical therapy , activities and meals. Shes made friends and participates in small group activities. She is very much looking forward to post Covid when numbers can increase at activities and field trips and outings can resume. I know my mom is happy and well cared for at Rosewood Village Greenbrier.

First, we have a family member at Rosewood village. This pandemic has been a challenge, particularly for nursing homes. Rosewood village is doing everything they can possibly do to keep their residents safe. From experience, I can tell you that a family owned facility is a much better choice over corporately owned facilities, especially during these uncertain times. The care at Rosewood Village is more personal. Rosewood has a family feel to it, and the staff and management are fantastic! They love what they do!

A year ago, I moved a 97-year old widower-friend into RWV-Greenbrier from another Assisted Living-Memory Care facility in Charlottesville. Not only did my friend save a lot of money, but he received much better care than he had gotten over the 5-years hed lived in Assisted Living at the other place. From the Exec Dir to the housekeeping staff (and everyone in between), the attitudes of the RWV-G caregivers and staff were excellent. The overall care was so special, I moved my friends special needs adult son to RWV-G when the sons overall health took a bad turn. The son, too, was well-cared for and a complex care plan involving a round-the-clock third-party caregiving organization. I give RWV-Greenbrier five-out-of-five stars.

My husband has lived at Rosewood Village for over eight years. His deficits are the result of two strokes. He has received excellent care from the CNAs, nurses, and therapists. It seems that there is always someone willing to help. Some have said that it feels like family, and I agree. Because of the Coronavirus no visitors are allowed currently. I can talk with him on the phone. If he needs something, I know whom to call for help, and help arrives quickly.

My mother moved into Rosewood Village Greenbrier in late January, right before it seems the bottom dropped out of the world. I have not seen her (other than via Zoom) since early March. I dont do patio visits because I have several underlying medical conditions, any one of which puts me at high risk. While I miss seeing Mom in person, I know that she is being well taken care of. When we talk, her only complaints are about the mitigation measures needed to keep the residents and staff safe. She understands why those measures are in place, but at 88, she can complain all she wants. She speaks highly of the aides who help her with showering, dressing, and toileting. I can fall asleep each night knowing that I dont need to worry about her.

The staff members at Rosewood Village are very friendly, helpful, and approachable. They are attentive to the residents and you can always find a staff member around when you need someone. The staff is always offering to help and keeping you in the loop as to what is going on, which is greatly appreciated. I have visited other assisted living facilities and it was difficult to find a staff member to assist with a resident's need. Rosewood relieves some of the anxiety of carrying for an aging parent. It my observation that the residents are content at Rosewood and like being there.

My father lost the ability to live independently ten months ago. On his recommendation from past experiences at visiting his friends in the facility, he asked to go to Rosewood Village -Greenbrier. I have been impressed by the cleanliness of the facility. Dad's only complaint about the food, "They feed me too much". Otherwise he has only compliments about the food, the care and the staff. His health, mobility and mental attitude have generally improved. Dad has had physical and mental challenges. He has presented some real challenges for the staff. I have been deeply impressed by the support and positive attitude of the entire staff, from the administrators to those who provide the personal care. I cannot imagine a more caring facility. Everyone has performed far above my expectations. They have helped me through problems that I could not have handled on my own. I heartily recommend this facility. David Clark

Rosewood Village was a godsend for my mother who was suffering from severe dementia and terrible anxiety. We had to bring Mom to Rosewood with very little notice or transition time when my father, her caregiver, was permanently hospitalized. It was a scary time for our family, because Mom had to leave everything she knew very suddenly. Rosewood's Director and staff were top-notch in every way possible. They worked closely with our family, even though we all live a distance from Charlottesville. Any concern of theirs or ours was immediately addressed by phone or e-mail. The smaller size and design of Rosewood's Innovations Unit was just right for our Mom. She received very loving attention and direction from staff. She was never more than a short hallway ( a few residential rooms) away from the common area where activities and meals took place. Nurses and Residential Assistants not only cared for Mom, but came to love her and respect her fragile nature. Mom was able to tell me on my visits how nicely everyone treated her at Rosewood. When we made the hard decision to relocate Mom to Maryland this past April, her caregivers cried and hugged her when she left. I truly can't say enough good things about the Director and how she prepared me for Mom's relocation to Maryland. It was clear that elder care is not only a job, but a ministry to the people at Rosewood. They love what they do and it was always evident in their care of my Mom.
