NeuroFit, led by Coach Pam (shown above) is outrageously fun and beneficial, one of many activities offered for residents at Ventura Townehouse. NeuroFit retrains the brain and the body to work together for greater physical and mental health. I should know“I started her classes at the Townehouse about 6 weeks ago. I had to use a rolling walker to move anywhere when I began. Since that time, I’ve graduated to a lightweight aluminum walker, then a cane“and now I am weaning myself of that! I’m sure it’s because of Coach Pam’s exercises that I’ve regained so much mobility. Pam is funny and inspirational, and encourages seniors of all degrees of health to participate in any way they can. She is unexpectedly versatile“a former ballerina who also has advanced degrees in art history. We do stretching, balancing, and strength exercises to lively music, in a safe setting. Those who wish can even join in a bit of boxing at stand-still punching bags to reinforce the exercises and to develop new neural pathways for better memory and coordination. Best of all, the women and men in this group have developed a great camaraderie. We laugh at ourselves and cheer each other on!

My mother reluctantly moved to Ventura Townehouse 2.5 years ago, (at 94), and it has been a wonderful place for her. I agree with the reviewer who says it’s a cross between a fancy hotel and a cruise ship. The facility and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There are endless, varied activities for those who want to join. The staff goes above and beyond to make each resident feel cared for and special. They know everyone’s name and even their likes and dislikes. I live on the east coast, but each time I visit I am so impressed with the family-like atmosphere and the care provided. Despite her initial hesitation to move into assisted living, my mother is now living her best life at what she calls the Pamper Palace.

There are many exceptional people here. I would like to mention Harvey that gave us our first tour and I ended up renting my apartment from him. We have a number of people that provide many activities,parties and special events for us. I would like to commend Nancy Borgnine. Her personality and energy are enlivening to all of us. Thank you so much to all the staff, management,the wonderful crew that takes care of the 12 acres and it goes on and on !!!

My mom is in Memory Care and I can’t say enough about the excellent care she is getting. James the director and his staff are fabulous! They have many activities and outing for the residents. Exercise class, cooking, going out to lunch and much more! Thanks to James for making these residents feel so happy and keeping them busy!

The environment at the Townehouse allows me and all of the Residents here to live the most amazing life with an amazing social environment! My husband and I are so happy here. The residents are supportive, caring and welcoming and the staff is very helpful and kindhearted. They keep us busy with many different activities for everyone: painting, bridge, entertainment, movies and you don’t want to miss the social get-togethers on Fridays. Great place to live!

My sister worked here as a chef/cook for two months before she had to quit. Her manager [Name Removed], his buddy [Name Removed] and their friends bullied and physically threatened her almost every shift. She reported their behavior to her direct supervisor [Name Removed], which led to their harassment escalating to the point that she was afraid to go to work. Supposedly they have a three strikes rule and yet NOTHING but a verbal warning was given to these men. If this is how they treat their employees and co-workers, imagine for a second how they could be treating the residents. Shameful!!!

My mother was a resident of the excellent memory care department at the Ventura Townehouse for several years. I have countless fond memories of the time I spent there visiting her, and I will always have the deepest appreciation for the wonderful staff members who consistently treated my mom with the utmost attention, kindness, patience, dignity, and love. Erika, the memory care director, is an incredible person who professionally oversees the facility and its staff while paying close attention to each resident individually, seeing that everyone is healthy, happy, and that all of their needs are being addressed daily. I was constantly blown away by how well she does her job and by her kindness & warmth; no detail was too small or too large for her to take care of, and she was never too busy to patiently talk with me. The facilities there are clean, beautifully decorated, and well supervised 24/7. The food's great and is customized to meet the dietary needs and preferences of each resident. There are activities and events going on constantly so that the community doesn't get bored and stays occupied. The residents of the memory care are a lovely, diverse group of people who were always very kind to me. I could go on and on about the memory care department of the Ventura Townehouse, they were such a blessing to my mom, myself, and my family in the midst of challenging circumstances. I strongly encourage anybody who has a loved one experiencing memory problems to call and schedule a tour.

My husband and I are recent residents of The Townhouse, but that does not mean we feel "new". The staff and residents have have met us with open arms, smiles, and offers for help since day one. We are so happy we chose The Townhouse. Once the moving boxes were emptied it felt like "home". There are stimulating events every day, a great library, a menu of endless choices for meals, and music in the air. With the lovely glass surroundings that look out onto mature trees, lawns (we do not have to mow), and meandering pathways, we are delighted we found The Townehouse. Come visit!

Went to visit a friend who recently Moved in there Today. Places very clean staff is quite helpful. Seems like there's lots of activities going on there all the time. On the negative my friend says the food isn't great. No she also did say this the staff was extremely helpful in getting her settled in. It is after all an assistant living home so there are lots of elderly people there. But they were Deserve My uch RESPECT to.

It might seem overblown to give this retirement community 5 stars on everything but I assure you they are well-earned. A brief summary: My wife has been the primary care giver for her father. She had been away from home 4-5 days per week, traveling 3+ hours each way weekly for over six months. When they decided to move him near us, I was asked to locate & tour a number of care facilities in Ventura County. After searching the web I found Assisted Living Connections in Ventura County who helped me find options. (ps: they are great) I visited a number of options and found many to be dark, gloomy, basically clean but unpleasant surroundings. I was able to narrow the list fairly quickly. We landed at the Ventura Town House & compared to other options out there this place is like a cross between a Four Seasons and a cruise ship. My wife and I took their tour, I was very skeptical assuming the sales pitch was just another pitch. In reality, she under promised and since they have over delivered. We wanted an active social life and a staff with good people skills. We are we happy with this group, trust me, when it comes to her father she is hard to please! We have found their dedication, professionalism, knowledge and most importantly (for my wife) their caring and compassion for her father invaluable. I highly recommend this facility. I recommend Ventura Townehouse with the highest rating possible!

I'm impressed with Ventura Townhouse. It's difficult to find good elder care and I've seen most facilities in the Ventura/Oxnard area from the worst to the best. There's no perfect place, but Ventura Townhouse is well-staffed, bright, open, friendly, and offers 24/7 concierge service. Nancy Borgnine is a wonderful director and truly cares about the residents and their morale. I highly recommend Ventura Townhouse for senior assisted living.

My mother was a resident of the Ventura Townehouse for a little over a year before she passed. Our whole family has nothing but good things to say about the Townehouse, and only wish we would have brought her here earlier to enjoy all of the activities and friendships available. There are endless activities, social gatherings, transportation to just about anywhere in town, a variety of wonderful food, nurses on location, personal attention, exercise/fitness classes, dance classes, pretty grounds, a front desk staff that attends to your requests, and I could go on and on. We had a hard time getting mom to leave her home of over 30 years, but we all wish we could have talked her into it sooner. It has been proven that being around people improves quality of life. The whole experience for the price you pay is unbelievable compared to other places we checked into. It is a place I've already told my kids that's where I want to be when the time comes!

I recently had a tour of The Townehouse by Samantha Crisp, as one of my closest friends will be moving there shortly. Samantha was warm and inviting, and the the facility was lovely. The staff was delightful, and the food was amazing! I am confident my friend will love her new home and stay very busy with all of the new friends she will meet and activities she will participate in!

My 95 year old mother-in-law finally got tired of doing her own shopping, cooking and cleaning. After looking all over Santa Barbara, Oxnard and Ventura, the Townehouse was easily the best place. Lots of activities, friendly residents, 3 meals included, weekly cleaning and bed making included, beautiful grounds and walking paths, studios, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, plus a range of a-la-carte additional services if you need them. Too many more options to describe here!

Before moving into the Townehouse I toured five other similar facilities in Ventura, Camarillo, and T.O. None of the other Retirement Centers can favorably compare - in value, appearance, feeling of home, and friendly atmosphere - with the Townehouse.

Recently, I visited my Mom from Chicago. Each day I offered to take us out and about Ventura . We found ourselves having such an enjoyable time at the Townhouse we didn’t leave. The dinning room was so lovely to enjoy with her friends. Patios welcoming and the activities kept us busy. We laughed and had fun all day! This is a nice, clean, beautiful campus. My mother In law has a 1 story, 2 bedroom garden apt. She has to walk to dinner, which is pleasant most of the time, but in the wind d and rain she can have her meals brought to her. The food is so-so. They do a great job on the food when families visit for holidays. They also raise the rent 2-3% per year. Overall very safe with kind attendants.
