Aurora Gardens in New Port Richey has friendly staff who try to be helpful, but the home is poorly managed and often understaffed. The facility has gone through multiple directors in a short time, creating instability and poor oversight. The owner takes no accountability for ongoing issues, and communication with families is minimal. Beware of the 5 star reviews posted after 2022. One of them is by the owner herself. Our loved one often complained about the quality of the meals, which were neither healthy nor well-balanced. There are no consistent activities to keep residents engaged, and the facility has faced serious issues—including bed bugs and numerous complaints—leading ACHA to place a moratorium on new admissions. Check the ACHA website for inspection reports and violations since the current owner took over from Angels Senior Living in 2022. Residents deserve much better care and leadership.

4.9 STARS: My mom transitioned to Angels from her private residence 5 months ago. Cooking and cleaning was just becoming too difficult for her. Thank goodness we picked Angels. They made this transition flawless not only for our mom but for us as well. She is able to maintain her independence but I feel secure that if the time comes that she needs additional help she will receive it here. Angels is truly ran by 'angels'. I'd like to recognize exceptional staff but in all honesty that would include all of them. I'm there enough to personally witness how well they treat the residences. More important is that my mom feels respected and that she's treated like family by all of them. Now that mom doesn't have the worries of running her household, I see where she is able to enjoy the outings and some of the activities available to her. Lisa the Activity Director listens to where the residence would like to go on their outings, she even made multiple trips, so every one could go look at Christmas lights that wanted to. Outings are limited to every other week because they share a small van with another facility. The colors are bright, they offer both a flower and plant garden that residence can help tend to. It's kept clean and a home like environment. I've lived and worked in healthcare in this area 3 plus decades and without hesitation I would recommend this place for your loved one.
