The directors are the worst I have ever seen, screaming down hallways nasty and inappropriate language, Being inappropriate towards each other, and being rude to residents. After being there to visit I have understood the true nature of the directors themselves and it is not friendly. I would not recommend this at all. I am praying that the state comes into to hopefully control this behavior.

My 90-year-old mother lives in a wonderful apartment and is treated so kindly by all the staff at The Cottage. They truly care for her. They listen, pay close attention to her needs and make her feel valued. Knowing she’s safe, cared for (physically and emotionally) is such a blessing for our family.

I have had the honor of volunteering my time for Casino Night at The Cottage on several occasions. The residents make for a lively evening of games and laughter! Whether it’s the joy of getting a Blackjack or hitting their favorite number in Roulette, the residents go all-in for fun on these nights! Rick and his staff from Resident Engagement pull out all the stops with decorations, drinks, and snacks to keep the party going!!!! The Cottage staff show that they are truly engaged in ensuring the residents have a blast on Casino Night! I can’t wait for the next one!!!!!

We had to make the decision to put my mom into an assisted living facility after she began rapidly declining with dementia. I wish we were able to get her into The Cottage at Litchfield Hills sooner! The first location, while beautiful, in an affluent area, and with all sorts of bells and whistles, unfortunately offered extremely sub-par care for my mother. She was always unbathed, with greasy hair, and wearing the same clothing day after day. "She said no", was the response when I asked why this was. Entire bedding sets were taken and never returned or found. It was a less than one star experience. Not to mention my mother hated it and wanted to get out. Our experience with The Cottage of Litchfield Hills has been the polar opposite! While once again, a beautiful facility with all sorts of bells and whistles, the care offered is amazing! My mother is happy here, likes most of the people most of the time (when you have dementia, that's like a 5 star review!). They check in on her frequently and encourage her to go to activities. They are gentle with all of the people living in the Memory Care Unit and everyone there is welcoming, friendly, and easy to speak with. We felt welcomed from the moment we moved my mom into The Cottage and my mom continues to be happy there. Dealing with having to watch your parent decline so rapidly is heartbreaking. Knowing that she is surrounded by people who not only care, but also understand her needs and moods lightens the load. We highly recommend The Cottage at Litchfield Hills!

My uncle was a resident of The Cottage at Litchfield Hills for several years. Based on the care he received and the attention to his needs, I highly recommend this care facility to those who require care but want to preserve a sense of being home. The staff is attentive and pleasant and the grounds and rooms are clean and well-maintained.

A close friend with limited mobility and advanced medical needs has resided at The Cottage now for almost a year. The nursing staff has been excellent in managing his meds and promptly addressing whatever medical issues arise, and his aides are always helpful and personable. The facility is clean, meals are excellent and there always appears to be a vibrant social scene in the common areas. He says he chose wisely with The Cottage at Litchfield Hills.

Amazing team! Goes above and beyond for Residents and families! Nurses and CNAs are kind, caring and respectful. Great food and kitchen staff, activities are engaging and the residents love it. Overall an amazing place to be at, very dedicated to their residents. Always happy to be there.

The care that Litchfield has afforded my mother in memory care has been outstanding. The service and administration has been sterling. It's very difficult doing what they do and they make it look easy. I would have no problem recommending this facility to anyone who needs assisted living.
