My mother, with dementia and weak health, moved from her accident prone former facility into this wonderful place and her health significantly improved, no more medical emergencies, and is thriving. She is happier and productive, attending various group activities (unlike to old place). Best decision ever made, no worries and very pleased with staff with excellent communication (I live 900 miles away) and cheerful attitudes. My life is much easier with mom in great hands.

I needed to place my aunt and mom in a memory care facility but I wanted them in the same room or right next to one another. Dougherty Ferry had the perfect setting with 2 rooms back to back. They each now have their own room and bathroom but are within a few feet of one another. The rooms are smaller than they are used to but have everything they each need, including a nice, large bathroom. They have their own thermostats, which is perfect, as my aunt is always cold. Their windows look out into a cute courtyard and I know they will enjoy the spring coming soon with flowers and birds. The staff is attentive and pleasant and they are getting the nutrition they need with three daily meals. My aunt had a recent fall and they are providing in house PT for her. The administrative staff are wonderful to work with and become familiar with their clients and family very quickly. I am at ease with them in memory care since the staff to patient ratio is higher than normal. Thank you, Dougherty Ferry, for being such a pleasant atmosphere for my mom and aunt.

We are new to the DF community. It has been quite the unexpected transition for a family member. The DF team has been so supportive through each step. They have taken countless questions via email, texts, calls and drop in conversations. Staff has been warm and approachable. Our family member is getting settled and comfortable learning the community more each day. So far it seems like a great fit.

This place is ridiculous. Apartments are very nice. If something isn't working and needs repair, forget it. It won't get fixed. My sister in law was there for 5 months. Ice maker never fixed. Many times her meds were late and sometimes not at all. Some of the staff were rude. Got calls all hours of the day and night about her not getting her meds. During the time she was there, there were 3 count them different director of nursing. Clearly there is something wrong with the administration. We met with Spectrum's contact for the area. Totally condescending. Very rude. I don't advise anyone to put their loved one there. Resident's medications come up missing. There is definitely a serious problem there.

DF has been great for our 92 yr young mom. She enjoys all of the activities. Says the residents and staff are nice. She even enjoys the food. Very happy we found this place for her.

We were struggling with the idea of placing a loved one in a care facility. After visiting Dougherty Ferry we felt this was the place we wanted her to be. Kelsie took us on a tour and answered all our questions. She played a big part in our decision. Then came another concern of how we would manage moving her in with the least disruption. Kelsie assured us things would work out and not to worry, Move in day came and needless to say we were nervous. Kelsie, with her big smile and enthusiastic greeting was waiting for us in the lobby. Our loved one warmed up to her quickly and was excited to go with Kelsie to add some finishing touches to her apartment . And just like that, we all breathed a sigh of relief. Thank you Kelsie for all your positive support and being there for us in every step of an important and emotional journey. I can’t close this review without acknowledging Renay, the receptionist. This lady is a ray of sunshine when you walk thru the front door. Sometimes it appears she is managing a 3 ring circus and does it very well and is most efficient. The staff is wonderful from the front desk to the care givers and housekeeper. Our family member is in memory care. Yes it can be hard but mom loves Belinda, Marshe and Marina and all the staff there. She loves that they all know her name and ours as well.

Making the decision to move mom to Memory Care has been a very difficult one for us. However, the team at Dougherty Ferry AL and MC made the experience memorable. The facility has recently had several staff changes, but for the best. The nursing team is top notch and has done a great job hiring new care givers. While mom is confused about her new surroundings the entire staff, from nursing to sales to entertainment to care givers are helping her adjust. Thank you Dougherty Ferry AL and MC.

I would highly recommend Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living, and Memory Care Center. My mother's boyfriend was there for a year. They provide good activities for the residents. The facilities are well cleaned, and there are several areas for dining and lounging. The staff are helpful, and friendly.

Dina helped us find a home for mom here. As we walk with her to lunch every person we pass says hi to her by name. The kitchen and staff are always smiling and talking to mom. They know what we all drink when we sit with her. The front desk staff always smile and greet us. Always seems clean and bright. The menu is varied and delicious. Whenever we have had a question it has always been answered and addressed promptly. It has been a great place for mom-she loves it!!

My mom has been at Dougherty Ferry for almost three years and we have had a very positive experience. As my mother's Alzheimers progressed she was moved into Memory Care Unit. During the first few months, there was turn over in the staff which presented some challenges. It has now been almost a year that the head of Memory Care Unit , Giselle , has been in charge and she is truly remarkable. Through her actions, it is obvious that she not only cares for all the residents but also for her staff. She works with her staff to teach them how to individualize the care for each resident. On a Saturday evening, my Mom's two caregivers called to express some concerns about changes in my mom's behavior. They explained how they had spent time with her throughout the day comforting her when she was scared and making sure she felt safe. We talked about her progression in Alzheimers and what the next phase might look like. Recently, they hired an activity director who focuses on Alzheimer patients..... while she is new at the facility her enthusiasm and communication is already present. Since the onset of COVID, I see my Mom through window visits, the entire staff work hard to keep the COVID cases to a true minimum. Having a loved one in a facility during a pandemic can be very stressful, but I truly feel my Mom is in the best place for her. She is always clean, washed, and most importantly happy. The staff of memory care at DF are true frontline heroes!

Earlier this year my mom was hospitalized and had a short stay at a skilled rehab facility. It was there that they told us that my mom would no longer be able to live independently. I called Dougherty Ferry assisted living and scheduled a tour that next week. I immediately knew that this was going to be the best fit for her. The staff new each resident by name and it just felt very warm and welcoming. My mom has now been living there for a few months and has never been happier. She tells us all the time that there is not one thing that she does not like there. She loves the staff, she loves the food, she loves her room. She is very involved in the activities and looks forward to them every day. It has given us peace of mind knowing that she is living somewhere where she is safe, loved, and very well cared for. I will always say that Dougherty Ferry assisted-living was a Godsend!!!

We have been very happy with the loving care my mother is receiving at the Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living and Memory Care facility. She suffers from dementia and is in the Memory Center here. The administrative staff is very pleasant to work with, they listen to our feedback with kindness, they are accommodating with requests made for our loved one in their care, and they are always open to suggestions we might have to better serve their residents. The care giving staff is equally as pleasant to work with. They are always happy and smiling while they work. They are quick to learn the habits of each of their residents and understanding how best to care for each individual. They are loving and patient with my mother, no matter what kind of mood she is in. The staff keeps the facility clean and looking nice and welcoming to everyone. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone!

After a thorough search I selected Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living & Memory care for my mom. One year later I am very happy with the choice. My mom is getting great care and fits in very well socially. The facility is immaculate and the staff are pleasant and very supportive.
