I have to say, when you look at the outside of the facility you see an abundance of opportunities in maintenance. My father was there for 3 months and during those three months he got stronger, was treated well by the staff and residents. He actually felt important why he was there. They employ a large staff that does their jobs well and treats the residents with respect. If my father wouldn't of burnt his bridges he would still be there.

I have been in this facility and other and this facility is more home like then any other. when you walk in the door it smell good not like some of the other facility I walk in and the remolding looks great. The staff are willing to help you in whatever you need.

I was optimistic at first but that quickly changed to worry. Some staff nurses and aids were great. Some made it clear they were temps and would do very little to help. The rooms are dated. My mom’s ceiling had mold. We asked repeatedly to get her out of a room with a very ill woman who screamed constantly. They claimed to be full but after walking the halls you could tell that is a lie. They are always short staffed. A long time staff lpn or cna explained it had gone down hill in the time she was there. She had nothing good to say and was apparently looking for a new job. If you are thinking about this place for your family explore other facilities first. There are people who care. Just very few.

It was a rocky start with the care for my mom. I read the reviews and chose this place for my mom's hospice journey. After getting to know some of the main caregivers, it started to smooth out. It was just over two weeks for my mom to pass. The crew was very compassionate and really cared. I want to thank them all. I hope they realize not everyone in the facility is cut out for this job.They do have some awesome employees. I hope they stick around. Thank you for everything.

My Church's ladies club held a "spring training-themed baseball party" for the residents. It was my first time there. The dining room / common area was bright and clean and the healthcare professionals all seemed very nice and appreciative of our efforts. I was a volunteer helping serve refreshments to the residents during the party. The residents all smiled and enjoyed the party. I did not see any of the residents' rooms but from what I could see, the hallways were also bright and clean.

My grandmother had an injury and needed 24-hour care. So, of course, my family and I went touring facilities. This was the only one that met our standards. The place was very clean, and smelled amazing, with patients and employees smiling. From the moment we stepped in the atmosphere was welcoming.

This time, 7-29-2022 was much better than the last time, 6-27-2022. The staff was attentive to their patients. The person I was visiting was out of his bed and sitting as well as talking! Last time he was in a fetal position and semi conscious! The staff acknowledged our presence and their patients this time. I hope this continues!

Just brought grandma home from a 3 week stay for rehab. Between her hospitalization and her stay at the nursing home it's been over 2 months since she had her stroke and has been home. We were not sure this day would ever come. Thank you Big Bend Woods for the great care and getting mom where she needed to be to get home! This place has great and caring staff. I would be happy to refer this place for someone to come for rehab. The staff is always going above and beyond to make the patients stay the best possible. It is a great environment for healing and to recover from an illness. They are compassionate with their skilled rehab patients as well as there long term care patients. Staff makes you fell welcomed and will see to your needs in a very caring way.

I had my mom (3X)and dad at Big Bend Woods and I have to say the staff there are very caring and welcoming. The nurses were very informative when I had questions. I told the therapy department exactly what I needed my mom and dad to do to get them back home and they made that their goal and both returned home! I can't name one issue we had during their stay and I visited every day.Very friendly staff and thanks to them we had a positive experience.

I read the bad reviews of Big Bend Woods that some people have left.....l guess they haven't been to other nursing homes......I am there all the time and my experience is completely different. The place is really kept clean.....the food is really good and residents do complement it. Activities are top notch and the care is great! There is no place that is perfect, and in a Long term care facility, you are going to smell things you'd rather not. Now the thing is...you can't trash a place because you smelled bad things....now, if it were happening every time that would be different, but I have not experienced the place smelling bad, more then a couple times in the month I have been going there.

I toured Big Bend Woods when I was looking for a place for my grandma. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the building. More importantly, the residents looked like they were well cared for and even told me how much they liked living there. Sadly, my grandma passed away but I planned on bringing her to Big Bend Woods. Thank you for taking the time to give me a tour, I would recommend Big Bend Woods to anyone looking for a caring place.
