I wanna talk about Sheldon park at Merrill gardens, it's a wonderful experience, we have a wonderful staff with experience of over 20 years. I've gotten to know a lot of the residents and many of them have become like family. Some of the things that are available to the residents is that we have a really good exercise program, there are a lot of activities available to the residents. Another thing that we have here, is incredible entertainment, all the way from comedians to dancers. The hosanna dance company comes in where we have a chance to see them from very young ages to teenagers, they like to come back every year, another special entertainment that we have had was the Springfield mariachi band, they play the guitar and they sing, with a trumpet player and we like them so much we hope to get them to come back in September. I do want to just say that Merrill gardens is the best facilities around, there is no other facilities like this one, they have good care team that helps us if we are need and keeps us very safe at this facility. This facility is absolutely spotless, in fact that was the first thing that attracted me to Merrill gardens, the Cleanliness is immaculate. We have a lot of new people that come to this facility and it's a chance to get to know them, we also have ambassador residents that get together with new residents to help them make the new adjustment, often coming from their homes to Merrill gardens. I can say new people can make an easy adjustment. I can surely say that it is a joy to be at Sheldon park Merrill gardens.

Merrill Gardens is a very nice facility.....clean, light and bright. The courtyard and layout of the building allows residents in memory care to wander about quite freely. The best thing of all about the place, though, is the atmosphere created by the the staff. It is one of kindness and caring and they are experts at diffusing difficult situations and listening.

My wife and I began looking for an assisted living facility last summer. After I made a cursory online search of local options and collected a list of possibilities I was advised to get professional guidance and did so. Following a consult to determine our needs she went over our list, ordered them, and Merrill Gardens was her top recommendation. After visiting three we felt comfortable that Merrill could suit our needs. An opening occurred there within weeks of our visit and we moved in four months ago. We have been very pleased that our process led us to them. The staff outnumbers the residents and not enough can be said about how uniformly pleasant they are. Activities are numerous and varied enough to suit all tastes. They provide a monthly list of all activities which are updated daily. My wife is particularly pleased with the musical performers they bring in to entertain us, typically three times a week. A bus is available for doctor, shopping and country-side touring trips. Food options are tasty and varied regularly and though under-spiced, perhaps understandably so, our chef has been quick to provide hot sauces on request. A nice feature is the on-demand list of salads, hot and cold sandwiches, desserts and other quick items. Merrill accepts pets and they have an enclosed courtyard that can be used to walk them, or to just sit and enjoy the quiet.

The facility itself is really nice and very clean, and his room has everything he needs to be comfortable. I’ve lived at Merrill Gardens. I first came here in February 2025 and I absolutely love it. I wouldn’t want to go any place else when I was looking for a place to live. I toured the facility and there was music going in the library and people milling around playing in a card game going in the lobby and two women were sitting there and playing cards and I asked them both how they liked living here and they said that they really liked it. They loved it and I asked him how the food was and they both gave me great reviews of it and now after all this time I can give my own review which the food is fantastic. You’re thinking in a place this large there would be a lot of grips. You’re not having that many people to serve three times a day, but it’s usually always good and if you find that you can’t like it or don’t want to eat it, you can pick something else with no problems, but the people, workers. The servers are always nice no matter what capacity their work and they’re always nice and friendly and the people who live here are friendly they always smile and say hello and other places, I’ve toured to check them out the residents didn’t look happy and I think if your tour place ask a couple of residents who live there what they think of it and you’ll get I believe an honest review of it and then you can make up your own minds. We looked at many places before deciding on Merrill Gardens at Sheldon Park. What we were most impressed with was the culture there. The staff is genuinely friendly and kind to all the residents. They have lots of activities suitable for people who need assisted living, (like chair exercise, happy hour in the afternoon, and other fun activities). The food has been good, and the layout of the apartment is wonderful. We have worked closely with Jennipher, Haylee, Tabitha and Alex to get mom situated just right. Jennipher was our first contact and she took the time to show us around and tell us all about the place. She also interviewed mom to make sure her wishes on how to get engaged would be met. Another wonderful staff person is Tabitha who did mom’s intake interview. She has been great to work with and we feel great about her being there to support our mom however is best for her. The facility is clean and lovely and there is a really. Ice outdoor area for residents to eat at, garden, okay games or just relax. Mom also likes the food, which is a huge plus! He has been very happy there, and has adjusted to community living very well, thanks to the sensitive and thoughtful care and guidance provided by the dedicated staff. If you are looking for placement, you already know how saturated our County is with Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities, many are new and many are aged, but none are like Sheldon Park!!!
