I worked with the good folks at Bickford for over a year to place our mom in their care. Although, our mother's health did not allow her much time at Bickford, they were kind, compassionate, prompt, professional, and went out of their way to make the transition for our mom. We dealt mostly with Darribe who was the best. I have been in business for years, and she was AMAZING throughout the process. I haven't seen that type of service in years! Job Well Done. Thanks!

We recently moved my father from the only home he has ever known in Michigan to Bickford of Ames to be closer to us. The entire staff have been amazing and so very kind.

I have the privilege of playing music at Bickford of Ames on a regular basis. I usually show up right in the middle of supper to set up. Every time I come the staff greet me warmly even though they are busy. The entire staff are wonderful and you can tell they really care for every resident. You really cant fake genuine smiles and kind interactions. I heard through the grapevine that one of the staff members, Darla, has been nominated for a caretaker award. I couldnt think of anyone more deserving. I have observed her laugh with, dance with, cry with, sing for, and in general selflessly take care of the residents at Bickford. Ive seen her hug crying spouses as they watch their loved ones memory fade. I have seen her smile at and gently care for residents that have yelled at and hit her in a moment of disorientation. Ive seen all of this only being there 90 minutes a month. If it at all matters in the choosing I whole heartedly endorse Darla and Bickford of Ames.

Bickford is a GREAT Assisted Living, specializing in the care of those with dementia. I have personally worked with this agency dozens of times over my years in senior care and can attest that they care very much about the people in their care. I would not hesitate to refer friends to Bickford for great care in Story county.

This is a lovely community and they are doing a good job caring for my mother and her needs. I know she is safe and in good hands here. It is a nice and clean community, very well maintained. They have a very polite and friendly staff. There are nice activities offered for the residents. The meals are good. This is a very caring community, with very sweet people. I would highly recommend this community, it worked out very well for us.
