I had to see it for myself experience is the best teacher, and it was horrible. I should have taken that person’s advice because they were right. This is not a suitable place for memory care. Residents are allowed to roam freely throughout the floor, even though many are confused and not adequately supervised. They wander into other residents’ rooms, and some can become aggressive, hitting others or taking belongings. Unfortunately, my mother’s personal items were among those taken, and I also suspect staff involvement. Residents with very different levels of dementia are placed together, including some who require much higher levels of care. The caregiving staff does not appear professionally trained, and there is constant turnover. The laundry department has been unacceptable ” clothing has been damaged with lint buildup, shrunk, or misplaced among other residents’ belongings. Washing everyone’s clothing together is unsanitary. My mother was placed in a small, shared room that was cluttered and cramped. Sharing a room with another confused dementia resident creates unnecessary stress and confusion. The facility has a persistent bad odor as soon as you step off the elevator, and the rooms smell unpleasant. There are holes in the walls, and the kitchen area is cluttered and unclean. The overall environment raises serious sanitation concerns, including possible pests and insects in the bathrooms. This is not even the full extent of the issues. My mother was unhappy there and declining. When I told her she would be leaving soon, she was genuinely excited. After submitting many complaints to the director, assistant director, and others, nothing was resolved. That is when I knew it was time to remove her. Enough is enough ” she deserves better. I do want to give credit where it is due Stacy Activities and entertainment , The physical therapy team, Physician Hermina, and nurses showed genuine care and professionalism. I appreciate the time and attention they gave my mother. Today, my mother is doing well in a safer, better environment with me. Thank you for the care that was provided by those who truly tried. Photos of upkeep of the rooms nasty carpet , if you don’t complain it will remain.

What a great environment we have here at Brookdales right next to the lake. I enjoy my walks down the walk to the bridge in the warm weather. During my first year here, I have also enjoyed the many activities on the third floor that are planned each month and the special events like the resident Christmas party and the Mothers Day luncheon. The meals are very good with a variety of options thanks to our new Food Manager, Amanda. I was also impressed that management stepped in during the snow storms last winter insuring we were all were all feed and cared for when regular kitchen staff was snowed in. Kudos to them.

Brookdale takes pride in providing person-centered care, practicing ethics, and having a clear mission statement. Having my loved one in a location that is accessible for daily visits from friends and family is invaluable. My mom has lived at Brookdale Echelon Lake for 17 years and those years have be wonderful. We have seen lots and lots of staff turnover and as sad as it is to see them - another lovely human fills the spot. The nurses have always been professional, kind and incredibly supportive. During times of sickness - if I can’t be there - the nurses are. The front desk staff has always been great - the community is kept clean and attractive by our very hard working aides and maintenance staff. Our event coordinator is fun and full of life. She keeps the community busy. Check it out - I think you will be happy!

I came in for visits to see a family friend and I must say , Excellent staff and Great residents!! At first glance , I met a very smiley receptionist, Pat!! Went to 3rd floor where residents looked so happy enjoying happy hour and bingo with the Coordinator of Activities, Melissa !! From my talking with a few residents about how they liked the building " they all were in agreement that staff is very good to them, caring about their community and the residents!! I would definitely say if you're looking for a home for your loved ones, Brookdale Echelon Lake is the place for them!!

I have volunteered at other assisted living facilities and this place is like family! With Kelly, Josephine and Trish’s leadership, the staff is very attentive to the residents’ needs. Vicky, Len and Leny are some of the team that can be relied on when things need to get done. I’ve noticed that many of them enjoy Melissa’s activities, especially Take-out Thursday’s, casino days and the new pool table! Upon walking in, Pat is there to greet you with a smile. And Donna’s professionalism and passion shines through all the time. During various holidays, I’ve seen the Executive Director Kelly, help keep the building’s motto, Believe With Heart’, going strong by recognizing both staff and residents with different themes, such as candy Peeps on Easter, letting them know that they are her Peeps and Cupcakes designed like turkeys on Thanksgiving that lets the staff know they’re appreciated, just like family! I highly recommend Brookdale Echelon Lake Assisted Living!

While on my journey looking for a place for my grandmom, I came across this beautiful lake view building !! I was doing a tour with my mother and saw all the programs for the residents!! The Activity Coordinator, Melissa, was very helpful n learning of the programs and fun events coming up!! The initial walk through there was a very smiley women by the name of Pat, She welcomed us and showed us around the lower level of their building, the dinning room was spacious and clean and the outside is nice as well!! The view is amazing and the staff were very nice!!! I would definitely recommend this as your loved ones home sweet home!!

I visited many assisted living facilities for my mother who was suffering from Alzheimer's. But when I found Brookdale at Echelon Lakes, I knew I had struck gold. The facility is beautiful, the staff (to a person) so friendly, caring, helpful, and welcoming, but most importantly, they offered me the hope no other facility did. My mother was set against going into "one of those places." Every facility I visited expressed concern that they would not be able to take her if she was not willing. I knew my mother's unwillingness was based on irrational fears and I only had to get her there to show her it was the best place for her-- no longer alone, things to do, caring staff looking out for her. Brookdale staff told me "just get her here and we will take it from there." And they delivered. I got my mother transferred there after a second in a week fall at home and a brief hospitalization. They prepared for her a meal of her favorite food and welcomed her with open arms. Photos they took of her on her first few hours showed a smile on her face we had never, in a very long time seen! We visited an Elder Care attorney at the same time to be sure we had all bases covered and the lawyer spoke highly of Brookdale, mentioning their "very robust" memory care program. The staff was able to get my mother dressed in street clothes for the first time in a year (she insisted on bed clothes at home), got her participating in activities, and socializing. I wish I had gotten her to Brookdale sooner.

At the heart of Brookdale, Echelon Lake is the experienced and caring team of professionals that has made my Mom’s experience there a true success story. The transition to assisted living from a private home was a challenging transition for everyone in our family. The culture of person-centered care ensured that Mom’s needs were understood and supported, both physically and emotionally. Quality resident activities such as bingo, musical performances and prayer group have now become favorite aspects of my Mom’s week. She has formed true friendships with many of the kind staff and other residents which has enhanced her quality of life greatly. From the little to large details of care, my family and I are impressed with the attention and focus they provide our Matriarch. Since she can’t be home, thank God there’s Brookdale! E.
