I am a current resident of Voorhees Senior Living and it has many faults. The food is not good at all. There is no variety. We have the same things over and over again. The activities are nearly non-existent unless you play bingo or like to watch old movies. The good things do exist. The nursing staff, especially Martha, are generally good. I have a unique illness that nobody here has but me and they do their best. Guy is a most excellent addition to the staff. He will drive your to your appointments with utmost care. He always checks in the doctors office to make sure everything is ok and he had them call him so I get picked up.

My mother recently moved in to Voorhees Senior Living. I have worked in the Assisted Living industry over 10 years and recently joined the team at Five Star Washington Township. I am very impressed with Five Stars culture and commitment to providing quality care and immediately thought of Five Star when faced with the challenge of placing a family member. My sisters and I have been struggling to care for our mom at home for over a year and finally realized we could best meet her needs within an Assisted Living Community. We also noticed that our moms world had become very small and although she did need assistance with care our biggest motivation was to provide her opportunities to engage socially with others outside of our immediate family. The entire team at Voorhees has blown us away with their kindness and attention – helping our mom feel comfortable in her new home and easing this difficult transition for our family. I highly recommend contacting Five Star if you are considering placement for a family member or loved one. I can honestly say that my moms quality of life has improved dramatically and, as a family, we are grateful to everyone on the Voorhees team for their commitment to providing quality care and support to residents and families.

Our mother has been a resident at VSL for 11-2 years . The PT and OT are excellent. The food is very good Mom is happy with it The dining room crew is kind, caring and very sociable. The building is clean with no unpleasant odors. Nursing is excellent with a nursing director and her second in command who are seasoned in the needs of an older population. They are very hands on and its not unusual to find them in PT observing individual patient performance or redressing wounds or visiting rooms to recheck an ailing resident. Even the administrative team is accessible. They are responsive and can often be found socializing with the residents or conducting an activity. VSL has become part of our family and just like a family not everything is perfect but we have no regrets about entrusting the care of our Mother to VSL.

Most outstanding experience...my mom has been at both The Renaissance on Peachtree and The Piedmont in assisted living. We have finally found the most wonderful assisted living in Atlanta at Provident Village at Creekside. My mom says she is home for good! My father has been living at VSL for 2 months now. He tells me all the time how much he loves the staff and the facility. I too am a big fan! There are so many people that I should mention, but here are just a few. Stephanie Slimm is the best. When I first met her, we were so impressed with her presentation, that my sisters and I decided not to visit any other facilities. The original plan was to try in-home care, and then move him to VSL at a later date. When the in-home cancelled on a Thursday, we were stuck. I called Stephanie and explained the situation. She told me that if we did our part, she would have him in VSL on Saturday, and she did. Shanyn Ryan, the Executive Director is another of their fine gems. From helping me with some paperwork issues, to having an issue with my fathers room repaired, nothing is ever to much. My father, a very picky eater, complained that he didnt think that he would have anything to eat. Tasha Blocker, the Director of Food and Beverage, was not going to let the man go hungry. She made a point of making sure that there is always something that he would like. He now eats 3 meals a day, and I can see that he is gaining some weight. If he doesnt show up for a meal, someone on the staff is checking on him. Michelle Paige, the Physical Therapist, is another gold star member of the staff. She spends a lot of time with my father, helping him to strengthen and use his legs, all while working around his TV schedule. Ive had my father in places where their idea of therapy was getting him out of bed and letting him sit in a chair. That is not the case here. And finally, there is Michael. He takes good care of my father. He gets him up in the morning and helps to dress him for breakfast. When my father needs to take a shower, Michael helps him with that. He is friendly; a great representative of the VSL community. If you are looking for an assisted living facility to place your loved one, you will be very pleased with Voorhees Senior Living.

After touring 6 facilities we settled on Voorhees Senior Living for our Mother. The building is clean and well maintained with a light airy dining room and very good, substantial meals served in a homey, relaxed atmosphere. Activities are plentiful, diverse and well attended. The Physical and Occupational therapists are aces and the staff, including the administrators, are pleasant, caring and welcoming. Many of them go Above and beyond to make sure that Mom is comfortable and engaged. There were a few bumps along the road but we were able to work together to resolve issues. We are now 8 months into this phase of our lives and still satisfied that we chose Voorhees Senior Living. Most importantly, Mom is thriving.

Thank G.d for the wonderful, loving staff at Voorhees Senior Living. After several hospitalizations, it was necessary for my father to go someplace with a higher level of care then he had formerly. I got a great Vibe when I went to tour the facility. Stephanie is awesome and she helped me through this entirely trying process. I feel like I can finally relax knowing my father is safe and well-cared-for. I used to worry so much, but I dont have to worry anymore. They take care of everything.
