We put a friend of ours in here. Though expensive, it came across as the perfect place. The front desk staff was wonderful, always being attentive to us. The billing lady was usually hard to get ahold of because she was so busy. It seemed they never had enough staff. I ended up washing her dishes and cleaning her living room when we would visit because she would tell them not to come in. I wish the cleaning staff that they did have had been more pleasantly forceful. In her last month the ring around her toilet bowl was completely black. I complained to the front desk more than once but was always told that the staffing was low. The medical staff was great. They did run out of her nightly pill once. So she was awake all night. Other than that, they would definitely call us if she was out of anything or needed help.

My father was in memory care at brookdale! The nurses and staff were outstanding! I have nothing but good things to say about this place! Yes a little spendy but what the staff has to do on a daily basis , it was well worth it! The food was outstanding and fed my father well ! Unfortunately my father past a couple of weeks ago and they treated us with love and compassion

Brookdale is doing a very exceptional service considering there is a lockdown. They take such great care of residents, ie meals, checking up on people, etc.

We moved two of our aging family members into Brookdale. The facilities are very clean, the food is good and the employees are genuine caring people. Our family member's health conditions changed over the years. They had enjoyed their one bedroom apartment, but eventually one had to move to the memory care unit and the other into a studio apartment. Unfortunately, heaven called them home, but we have good memories of their last few years at Brookdale.

Spectacular staff (I met with Lisa Caldwell). I felt like I've known her for 30 years. This facility is my top choice. Mom has to approve the final decision, but you can be certain I will attempt to influence that decision.

Very professional, caring staff. Residents often mention how much they like the staff. Excellent dealing with COVID-19 protocols. I have been to many assisted living facilities who forget the "assisting" part. Wouldn't hesitate having a relative live here.

My mom has been a resident there many years and I am very happy with her situation. She is allowed to live the lifestyle she chooses and receives excellent monitoring and care. Even though she needs assistance it is like she has her own apartment. Seeing her is easy and I feel she is very safe and happy.

After living at Brookdale, Monroe for 3 and one half years, I have seen both good and not so good changes. Presently, the biggest problem is that there are not enough caregivers . There seems to be a problem with keeping them. One of the reasons is their scheduling, evidently it is often necessary to expect them to work double shifts, so they are often tired.They are capable, caring and admirable people. Im very fond of them. The food: it varies with the chef. I dont care for much of it right now. Some people think its fine. Activities: We are just getting back to these after Covid-19. I shouldnt say much because I dont participate in many. Im sure more will be added soon. The cost of living here has gone up unbelievably. I dont know how long I will be able to stay. My family and I have looked at other places, but havent found anything that costs less. I do like it here. The surrounding area is beautifully landscaped and very enjoyable to use.

Brookdale is THE BEST!! The people make it GREAT!! My mom moved to her apartment at Brookdale six months ago and her life has changed in so many ways and all of them are for the better. She is happy in her new environment!! Her meals are served to her three times a day, no more shopping, cooking or cleaning up. Her linens are changed and her room is cleaned weekly. She no longer needs her car (and the expenses related to it) because the Brookdale bus takes her everywhere she needs to go. Her responsibilities are few now which allows her more time to do as she pleases. There are 2 libraries at Brookdale and my mom loves to read. There is a wide variety of activities available and socialization around every corner. Brookdale has a large campus with beautiful places to rest and enjoy the surroundings or wander around and discover new sights. The people at Brookdale make the experience even better. Employees including the executives, office workers, activities coordinators, nurses, housekeepers, food servers, attendants and everyone else working for Brookdale are so incredibly committed to making the lives of the residents the best they can be. They go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. We have asked for so many things and they have always generously cooperated. We love Brookdale!! My sister and I can relax knowing that mom is in the best place she could possibly be!! Thank you Brookdale and all you wonderful folks who work so hard to make the lives of older people so magical!! Having been a member of the family at this community for the past 17 years, I can honestly say I cant imagine doing anything else. In my career I have helped countless families (over 700 now!) find the care and support they need for their loved ones. When families get to the crossroads where they have to make decisions about what to do with their parents or other family members, it can be so difficult. You want to do the right thing and respect your loved ones wishes, but what if those promises were made before physical and cognitive needs changed? The fact is that everyone is on a different journey. Sometimes things are predictable and sometimes they are not. I love helping those folks who have to have the hard discussions and tackle the seemingly impossible tasks. I get my energy from seeing residents make new friends and find peace in this season, that some live long enough to enjoy while others do not. This is one of the most meaningful and fulfilling positions I have held in my work-life. My mother has been a residence at Brookdale Monroe since last Sept and just loves it there. The staff is great and doing everything in their power to keep their residences safe. The apartments range in size and price and mom just loves her apartment, it is the perfect size for her. The food is good and they take good care about her food allergies and restrictions in helping to keep her well and happy. She tells me all the time how nice every one is and how friendly all the residences are. This is the best move we could have made at this time for our mom. When I get old enough to need a senior living facility I hope I find a place just like this one. Everyone here seems so nice and caring. The food tastes good and the cafe staff is very friendly. The lady at the front counter is nice and upper management is very caring. Lisa is so funny and when she interacts with the residents you can just tell they love her. She is a hoot and a half!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The day of our visit was quite a wet one resulting in very little check out of the grounds although there appeared to be many areas to stroll. This is good because the facility is accessed via a busy highway which would not be a comfortable place to go for a walk. Brookdale Monroe was in the midst of extensive renovations when we visited which affected most of the interior and also affected the normal activities of the residents. Due to this situation, I don't feel I can comment on normal activities. We did have a good lunch.

I think it's the best Retirement place EVER and also my great-aunt Charis lives there and my dear friend Sue works there. and It's actually called Emeritus not Merrill Gardens anymore. And also my best friend Sue works there.
