My 95 year old mother lived at Brighton Gardens of Mountainside from January of 2024 until she passed in July of 2024. She had suffered a stroke in November of 2023 and my wife and I were no longer able to provide the level of care she required after her one month stay in subacute rehab. After researching and visiting facilities in the area, we decided on Brighton Gardens. My mother was apprehensive about moving into assisted living and it took her about a month to accept that she could not return home and acclimate herself to life at Brighton Gardens. Once she settled in and made some friends, my mother was the happiest she had been in years. She got involved in activities and enjoyed the live entertainment and other events held at the facility. My mom also loved the staff and I could tell when I visited that they were fond of her too. Regarding my family and me, Brighton Gardens provided us with peace of mind that mom was being well taken care of. Two standout staff members are Carol, the Director of Sales and Kim, the resident RN. Both Carol and Kim were there for my mom and my family for whatever we needed regarding her care. Claudia in the rehab center was also excellent and got my mother into the best possible physical condition. The rest of the staff was always very good natured, helpful and respectful. Making the choice to place a parent into assisted living is not easy. If you find yourself in that position, I highly recommend touring Brighton Gardens. I feel my mother and family were very fortunate they had a room available. They helped make my mom's last few months happy ones.

My father became a resident in July. The staff has been amazing helping him acclimate to his new home. Everyone is friendly and helpful. There are two people that stand out in his everyday care. Wendy at the front desk and Shirley his third floor caregiver have been excellent in helping him deal with his anxiety. He has three wonderful meals a day and companionship. What more could you ask for.

I wholeheartedly recommend Brighton Gardens of Mountainside. My father was a resident for 2 years until his passing. He received wonderful and attentive care and I enjoyed excellent communications with the Managing Director, Jyll Bascone, and her staff. My father lived out his last 2 years with dignity and respect.

I have such a pleasant experience coming here to visit my mother every day. Wendy is so pleasant and helpful to my mom and my mom loves the cheap polishes her nails periodically. Love you Wendy.

The dedicated team here have all been friendly and cheerful which i greatly appreciate. Wendy the day time concierge is particularly friendly and helpful. Maureen (sales) was very tactful and compassionate in working with me to place my mom here. Many members of the team have been here for 15 or more years which speaks volumes. The atmosphere is cheerful, residents seem happy, my mom's apartment is always clean with trash being taken out every day. There are daily activities I see occurring, music playing, arts and crafts happening, and residents enjoying the chairs out in front of the entrance. I've spoken to other residents who have been here a long time and they had nice things to say which gives me comfort. They even accommodated my mom bringing her cage of finches. Other residents have pets and one member of the team brings her little dog in when she's working and residents visit with her. Lastly, this facility is much more affordable than others in the area which was a critical aspect of getting mom to agree to transition to assisted living.

Sunrise is a nice facility. Wendy is very compassionate and cares for the residents. She goes above and beyond to accommodate family members who come to visit. She is a natural helper.

Jyll Bascone is an excellent manager. She has a really good team working with her. Maureen Cassidy is also excellent as her job does not end with selling you on coming to Brighton Gardens. She is always there to help you. The nursing staff is excellent and so are all the care givers and cleaning people. My mom's apartment is always clean. Wendy the concierge is also amazing always with a smile. Same with Cheryl when you walk in. Also and most important the previous activities director Marlene helped to save my mom's life. Marlene noticed my mom did not come down for lunch and then went to check on her as they were working on something for Drama. When she saw my mom she knew something was not right and called the nursing staff. She also stayed with her and and explained this was not like my mom and it was serious. Deborah and her team acted immediately and got her right to the ER were they found she had a blockage in her bile duct causing septic shock. This quick action saved her life.

So far the experience is good for my aunt. She is still adjusting to the move to this community. The meals and cleanliness provided here are really good. I like the staff, the price point, and it's cleanliness. All my reasons for choosing them.

My mother was only there at Brighton Gardens of Mountainside before she had to go back to the hospital. But from my experience, limited though it may have been, they were excellent. All of the people that we dealt with were very helpful and very considerate of my mothers circumstances.

My family and I are very pleased. The employees are very friendly and do the best they can. The facility is very clean and well kept. The cleanliness, friendliness, and care services are excellent. Overall, The Brighton Gardens of Mountainside is a nice community. I would recommend this place. We are just really pleased with everything. It's great. I can't rate the activities because it is not applicable.
