The most premier assisted living facility in the area. Clean and comfortable with many amazing amenities and activities that made it super easy to make a choice for our old folks especially my Grandads favorite the staff sanctioned "Midnight Madness" Wheelchair Grand Prix race event that they hold on Friday nights. Grandad really loves the races! There is a small sportsbook with odd makers operated inhouse where folks can place bets and make a little extra cash. Thank you Southgate

Southgate Assisted Living has an incredible team that truly cares about their residents and families. The Executive Director, Family Advocate, nurses, Med Techs, and kitchen staff all go above and beyond every day with genuine love, compassion, and professionalism. During our experience, every staff member treated my Dad with dignity and kindness, and they were always willing to help, answer questions, and provide support during difficult moments. My Dad, John Flynn, spent his last days in Southgate Senior Living. After touring 6 facilities in San Antonio Texas, I would never consider any place other than Southgate. The staff was caring and attentive to my Dad's needs. The staff determined that my Dad was declining fast and notified me in time to travel from San Antonio and spend his last few hours together. I can never thank Southgate enough.

Hi ‘, my name is Penny Schiess. I just moved out of Southgate. I moved to be closer to my family. They would travel 9 hrs.to see me. I was very sick & couldn't be left alone anymore . I won't lie to you.It was a hard 7 mths. I kept mostly to myself. But like anything new,you have to try. I love people & am a real people person.I was miserable. So I decided to speak to everyone. Pretty soon I had lots of friends. Guess what ??? I became happy.!!! This is a very special place.There is a friendly feeling as soon as you walk in the door. The food is good-to excellent. Depending on who is cooking. Pick wherever you want to set. CAs with any place you have great food & not as good most everyone is pretty satisfied. I myself am a cook,so l'm picky. The activities are fun. Candy bar Bingo.every Thursday. A group of people known as the Lunch Bunch. Gets together on the 1st Monday of the month.just sign up & you're in. We've gone Crackerbarrel ,Applebee's, Olive Garden, just to name a few. We to Walmart or Smiths every Monday.We even go to Mesquite. You don't have gamble just eat at the Buffet. We have a Hair Salon & Nail salon.You get your room cleaned every week your trash out multiple times a day. But best of all you get to bring your dog. I moved my mom (with dementia) here from a bad situation in Louisiana. My first experience was with Daylin, she is the "face" of the community. Daylin went far beyond my expectations and made me feel super comfortable bringing my mom here. Now that she has been here for a while, I've learned the rest of the staff is great as well, astonishing actually! These people do this job because they want to, not because it pays the bills. It is very stressful to care for these dementia patients and they all do it so well. I whole heartedly feel Daylin is an angel on Earth! Her infectious positivity is so contagious! Im thrilled that the staff has what it takes to back her up! If you have a loved one needing the best of care and love, this is definitely the place to find it! Ok, I'll shut up now 🙂

Daylin has been wonderful through the process of planning before, during, and after my dad moved in. The staff and nurses are pleasant. I searched many places before making decision and I am happy with the choice of picking Southgate. The entire staff is warm and caring. The facility is clean and tidy too. The menu has specials for a nice change up as well.

We needed last minute access to assisted-living. We are from a different state and were visiting with my father in the rehabilitation center in St. George. We started looking quickly and found Southgate as one of our visits. We were immediately impressed with Daylin and her kindness and approach as well as the rest of the staff that we met. It is a wonderful facility with a great atmosphere, kind, and caring staff, and a tremendous approach to the well-being of each resident. Even when our time with Dad there was short-lived, the staff continued to be very helpful as we put him on hospice for a few days at Southgate. I would recommend this great place for any individual or individuals who would like to have personalized, loving, and kind care in a wonderful environment. It was certainly a blessing to my father and to our family!

I could not have chosen a better facility for my beloved husband when I could no longer provide safe and adequate care at home. Every single person that I dealt with from maintenance to the Administration were warm, considerate and welcoming to us. As an RN with nursing home experience I know well the range of care that exists. The Memory Care caregivers are exceptional for their warmth, patience, humor and gentleness with each and every Resident they have in their unit. My father lived at Southgate for a year, until his recent passing. There was a transition in ownership during that time. There were a few minor glitches having to do with billing, but it all got worked out. The important thing is that my dad was happy there. From the facility director, to the receptionist, to the head nurse, to the chef, to the driver, to the housekeeper, and all the other workers there, everyone was kind and attentive to his needs. When he used the call button, someone came. The facility is clean, smells good, and the food is good. He was able to attend his LDS church meetings right in the facility. During the last week of my dad’s life, there were three of us with him all the time. We were invited to eat in the dining room and often were asked if there was anything we needed. That helped ease those final days. At first, Dad didn’t want to move there, but ended up feeling like it was home.

I want to share a heart felt thank-you to the wonderful caring people of SouthGate. To Dennis who met us on a Sunday, Ashton who was very transparent with all our questions and especially to Daylin who let our folks into all the rooms they wanted to look at. To doing measurements for us and even counted the steps to the nearest elevator. Thank you for not wincing when we had asked some questions over and over again. Thank you so much for caring and if you did not know the answer made it a point to get an answer.

Our father has dementia and has been at Southgate in the memory care unit for five months. Every member of staff we have encountered, from the nurses and aids to food service staff to activities directors to janitorial staff to administrators, everyone, has been excellent. Southgate’s director, Nina Heck, really goes above and beyond. She makes each resident feel special and important. Our dad is thriving. He is more social now than he’s ever been in his life. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of homes for our dad.

My sister arrived from another state and has lived at Southgate Senior Living in St George UT for the past 6 months. Southgate has been a blessing for her. Nina Heck, executive director, her entire staff, and aides have been welcoming and friendly since my sister’s first day. They have listened and worked with her needs in a professional, caring way, never forgetting the personal side of life. Thank you to everyone at Southgate. Pat Major I wrote the above review almost 2 years ago concerning my sister, Cate. Cate has since passed away and I am so thankful she spent over 2 years at Southgate Senior Living. The staff and aides led by executive director, Nina Heck, were caring and warmly professional. Cate's aides were consistently calm and responsible. Everyone knew who Cate was and took the time to say hello, call her by name., and talk. Southgate is not so huge that residents might drop between the cracks. Far from it ...it's a perfect size and there's a personal homey feeling in Memory Care and Assisted Living. Came through yesterday on an official tour and are narrowing down choices for my father Norman. Husband drove up from Sun City AZ to see the ones we have narrowed it down to. Love the friendly vibe of your community and the open feeling being on a golf course. Staff was so welcoming. Appreciate the opportunity to just roam through the common areas and get a feel for Dad living there. We have appointments set to go over his finances with his advisor and an elderly care attorney for guidance on this new chapter in our lives.

My mom, Bobbie, spent her last eight months at South Gate. She left her home very reluctantly and chose to stay in her room most of the time. The staff always invited her to do things or go to the dining room with them. They were kind and patient with her. She had a stroke while living there and we knew she would not recover. She was able to stay in her apartment, with hospice care, for her last week of life. The staff were absolutely amazing in their kindness and love shown to her, even though she was mostly unaware of their presence. My sister and I were so blessed by the loving care she received and the love shown to us as well. I can’t recommend South Gate highly enough if you are looking for a home for your loved one.

I did a walk through of the facility to see if this would be a place for my mom. The staff was friendly and helpful. The list of activities, outings, daily menus, etc were amazing. My mom was very outgoing until an accident a couple years ago and she still wants to be active and I believe Southgate will give her those opportunities!!

My Mom and I toured multiple care facilities when choosing a community for her. She and I both agreed that Southgate was something special and the perfect, loving, caring place for her. Since she's lived there, she is smiling and happy every time I see or talk to her, she is always talking about her friends there, the caring staff, the delicious meals, and the fun trips! My favorite is that when we're on the phone and there is a knock on her door, she say's "Oh, I'm just so popular here!" She then comes back to the phone after answering the door and says, "I know they're really just checking up on me...but, they do it with such friendliness and care that I love it!" I have absolutely no regrets about choosing Southgate for my Mom. She is HAPPY and she is SAFE. And, being able to give her those two things means the world to me!

Our father/father-in-law spent five and a half years with the staff at Southgate Senior Living. Everyone was very caring and attentive to his needs. We loved the size of the center, and the home-like environment generated by the center's smaller size. Dad loved the view of the golf course with its pine trees and Pine Valley Mountain which the Dining Hall offered, and that the center was willing to let him bring his small dog with him when he moved in. We also appreciated knowing he had proper medical care after some of the surgeries he underwent. We developed friendships with many of the staff, and always saw lots of smiles whenever we visited Dad. Many thanks to the staff for all they did for Dad!

To me, Southgate is peace of mind. I not only live out of state, I live out of country ” over 2 thousand miles away. Knowing that mom is safe and well cared for is a blessing, but more than that, she’s treated like family. Southgate is a well-run, close knit community ” competent, caring staff, chef prepared meals, and activities, so many awesome activities. Mom loves being there and I love it too.

I would like to commend Nina & her staff in Memory Care. One of our BeeHive Cottages residents, Lola, needed to move on to Memory Care recently & we all knew that this could present a very difficult situation for her. Southgate Senior Living did everything they could to ease this transition for Lola, including allowing her to bring her beloved dog to live with her in Memory Care. Lola was so attached to her dog that it would have been traumatic for her to move without him. Southgate staff has also worked through some other issues with Lola including her homesickness and they have done wonderful job of redirecting her anxiety. The staffing has been very caring & responsive in working with Lola & her entire family. After working 13 years in this industry -- I try to take time to recognize when other Senior Living facilities do an excellent job ......... especially during these trying times with Covid! Hats off to Nina & her staff!

I have the privilege of working with residents, administration, and the nursing staff here at Southgate Senior Living. I have the utmost confidence in their team who cares for their residents. Our team is in constant communication with their nurses and CNA's to help the needs of residents, which are continually changing. Their team, is available even after hours to help meet those urgent needs. The administration are highly concerned for the individual needs of the residents and staff- the culture is positive, gentle, and compassionate. I recommend Southgate Senior Living to my family and friends without reservation.

We looked at many senior care places and were very impressed with Southgate. After my Mother-in-law moved in I have continued to be very impressed. Always nice and clean, homey and happy. The Staff have been just wonderful to her and really takes an intrest in her and us (her family). My Mother-in-law is in the memory care area and I have nothing but good things to say about the place. They keep her busy with things to do and encourage her to mingle with the others. My Mother-in-law has said how much she loves it there. She loves her new friends, the staff and her room and I might add, the food. Thanks to all that work with her. We love you all!
