Reviews Bel Aire Senior Living
June 2023
With a lot of mixed emotions and a measure of guilt, we moved my dad, Jerry, into Bel Air Senior Living in March of 2022. Dad had been showing signs of dementia and we knew we couldn't adequately care for him much longer. From the very first day he moved in the staff was wonderful, the nurses and administrators cared for him as if he was their own father. Dad started in the assisted living side of the facility and stayed there until his dementia progressed to the point where he needed memory care and then he moved "across the hall". Sherry Hornbuckle the "lady upstairs", as dad called her, always made time for dad, and over and over and again showed incredible patience with him. Dad also formed a close relationship with Sherry's son Brandon who runs the kitchen. Dad was a Marine and he could eat a lot, it's no surprise he would befriend the one in charge of the kitchen, but that Brandon would form a close bond with dad speaks volumes about the outstanding people at Bel Aire. Those relationships continued when dad moved to memory care, it always gave me a great sense of comfort knowing that he was surrounded by people that really cared for him. The level of care provided by the nursing staff was outstanding. I always felt like a part of the care team and that my thoughts and opinions were taken into consideration regarding dad's care. He certainly received better care than we could have given him at home. Not once did I feel uninformed or worried that he wasn't getting the care and help he needed. It was a true partnership. Sherry and her team helped us navigate through a myriad of insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid paperwork; I'd probably still be trying to figure it out without their help. Dad passed in August 2023, and while I'll miss him forever it's a great comfort knowing that for the last 17 months of his life he was cared for and loved by the amazing people at Bel Aire.

Hi! I work at Bel Aire and I love it so much. I have met amazing people and made precious friends. The residents are fantastic and have taught me so much. There is a lot of warmth to this senior home and so much love and care. I am moving soon and I am so sad to leave this job. I recommend joining the Bel Aire family! Whether it is as a staff member or a resident, you are welcome. I will forever keep this place in my heart:) Thank you, Bel Aire!

My mom Sally lived at Bel Aire Senior Living in American Fork the last 3 years of her life, and passed away there in September 2020. Because of her dementia, she lived in the Memory Care unit at Bel Aire, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received there, even right up to the very end when her needs were greater. She always told me how happy she was there, how much she liked her apartment, how nice the people who worked there were, and how the food was so good too. The staff at Bel Aire are like angels in human form -- they had true compassion, empathy, and love for my mom, and we are very thankful for that and for how they took such good care of her. Likewise, the Bel Aire management team is very aware of the residents and their needs and also truly cares about their residents. Thank you very, very much to all the fine Bel Aire staff and management from the Abernethy family for all you did for our dear mom Sally! 🙂

WOW just WOW! My mother in law needed somewhere to go because we couldn't take care of her at home but she wasn't at the level of needing a nursing home. The staff at Bel Aire came and did their evaluation and determined that they could help us by putting mom in their memory care. What a tremendous relief they have been to us! The staff have been amazing, the facilities are always clean, visiting hours are reasonable and easy to work with, we could take mom out for outings from time to time, and everyone was so nice to work with. I hope they are still around if I ever need to go into assisted living!

I'm a hospice nurse, this is my absolute favorite facility to work in. The staff and administration are remarkable. Everyone involved with Bel Aire takes pride in their work and the patient care is the best of the best. Happiest patients live here

My dad was a resident of Bel Aire for about a month earlier this summer. We can not say enough good things about this facility and the people who run it. Every aspect of his treatment there in memory lane was stellar. When he had a sudden and unexpected decline and it became obvious that he would only live a short time, they supported us in every way and treated him and our entire family with the utmost respect. They were understanding and patient as extended family came for last visits, did all in their power to make Dad and us as comfortable as possible, and grieved with us as if they had known our sweet dad for years instead of weeks. Moving Dad from another facility to Bel Aire was the best care decision we made.

We are so grateful for the fine medical care and kindly personal assistance our mother received at Bel Aire. As we visited her every day, we couldnt help but notice the little things the staff and administration did for her, such as speaking gently, holding her hand, and smiling. They always treated her with kindness and respect. The daily activities and music they provided brought her joy, even as her dementia increased. In hundreds of ways, Bel Aire did small things with great love, for our dear mother, and we will never forget them for it.

I recently started working with Kristina and Steve. Bel Aire is a very professional and inviting center that I would recommend to any of my clients. They have thought through their processes and services to make sure all of their residents are comfortable and enjoy their experience. Bel Aire is very proactive to improve all the benefits they provide the their residents, residents families as well as their working partners.

My father, Robert Weight was a resident at Bel Aire. Loved the staff and the environment. Felt really good about his care but after he died I felt like I had been gouged. He passed away on Jan 3. I had paid his Jan rent but since he passed before the 15th I was entitled to a half month refund. I finally got the refund about 7 weeks later and it was about $220 short of what I was expecting. They had deducted charges for gloves, wipes, missed meals etc. he was on hospice and these should have been taken care of. It left a sort of sad and disappointing taste in my mouth. I talked to them and they agreed that an error had been made but I have yet to see any further refund. Would I recommend this place to others? I would have to say yes but with a caution.

I was so fortunate to find Bel-Aire for my mother. She has early Dementia, but is still an active, vivacious, caring woman. I looked at many facilities before Bel-Aire and I knew she would be miserable in the majority of them. I was looking for a place that didn't feel like a nursing home, yet could provide increased memory care as her Dementia progressed. I knew she would be happy at Bel-Aire from the moment I saw it and I have been so thankful that she is able to live there ever since. It seems more like a retirement community, while providing the services of Assisted Living and Memory Care. The staff always treats my mom with kindness, compassion, and respect. I am so thankful for that because my mom is a smart, wonderful woman, just one with a severe memory problem. She would be offended and terribly unhappy if she were to be treated like a child. Furthermore, the meals are wonderful and the facility is clean, well decorated and never smells bad. Bel-Aire was also key in helping us find the programs available for my mom to qualify financially to live there. I honestly feel like Bel-Aire helped saved my mom's life. I can rest every night knowing that she is not just safe, and well cared for, but also very happy.
