Since my aunt moved to Atria Briarcliff Manor six months ago, her wellbeing has improved incredibly. She's doing better physically, socially, and emotionally now than in the last fear years she spent alone at home. I believe the social aspect of living in community, surrounded by friends and familiar faces, has turned her life around. She's eating better, getting some exercise, socializing and seems so much happier. She has access to nursing staff, doctors and physical therapy in-house which has lead to material improvements in her health. She's made friends and trying out all sorts of new activities she would not have considered before. Knowing that attentive, well-trained and empathetic people are looking after her has set my own heart at ease. Working with Atria has been easy from the start. Everyone on staff is knowledgable and responsive and clearly cares about the residents. Having staff who have been there 5, 10, 15 or more years is really impressive. Retaining employees for so long is a testament to the quality of the work environment, which of course benefits the residents as well.

My 100 year old mother has been a resident of Atria of Briarcliff Manor for 6 months now and is very happy there. Prior to that she lived in her own house without daily assistance. However, after a hospital and rehab stay, we realized she would no longer be independent. So, my wife and I started researching assisted living facilities. We were already familiar with Atria, as my wife’s aunt had been a resident there for years and she had a very positive experience. However, we were sold on it when the Director, Kate, took us for a tour and everyone knew her and she knew everyone by name “ it showed a personal touch. My mother’s experience has been excellent. The staff is very professional and personable. She has a personal bond with her assistants, from Alice who helps her get ready in the morning, to Smile, Judy, Ursula, Rosa and all the others who take care of her during the day, to Elvia who tucks her in at night. The entire staff is great “ she loves them all! Besides the excellent personal care, she gets great medical attention from JoEllen and the wellness team. They not only administer her medications, but keep an eye on her. For example, when they noticed she was coming down with a cold, they made an appointment with the visiting doctor and then kept me up to date on her condition. This incredible amount of attention she receives puts my mind at ease. Not only do they take care of her physical health, but Bridget, the Activities Director, always make sure there are stimulating things to do. From holiday celebrations, to discussion groups, to Bingo, there is always something going on “ Bridget is tireless! She has also developed a number of friendships with other residents of Atria, which is great since she had been isolated living at home alone. Its a very good community environment. Food is very important to my mom and Atria doesn’t disappoint. She enjoys the wide variety of meal choices and the restaurant style service. I recently asked my mother how she likes it at Atria and she said that she would prefer to live in her own house by herself, but she knows that’s no longer possible. She said this is the best option because she does need help, but doesn’t want someone living with her around the clock. At Atria, she gets the level of support she needs and yet she can be alone when she wishes. Most importantly she said she feels safe, comfortable and actually loved there and that it is slowly becoming her new home.

This is a special place. That’s what my loved one said to me recently after living at Atria for just three months. My family and I spent the previous year searching for the right place”and then trying to convince my dad to make the move. Atria’s flexible approach helped ease his concerns, especially knowing this wasn’t a decision he was locked into forever. Once he moved in, everything else simply fell into place. What truly makes Atria unique is the longevity of the staff. Your loved ones aren’t being cared for by people who are here today and gone tomorrow, but by individuals who are genuinely invested in the community. That investment shows in the happiness, comfort, and joy of the residents. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Atria”the facility, the people, the location, the activities and programs, and the overall vibrancy of the community. When I first toured the building, a complete stranger stopped me to say how wonderful it was. Now, I’m that person.

My mother-in-law has been at Atria for nearly six months, in assisted living. Overall we have been very happy with Atria/Briarcliff. It has a very family feel due to its relative small size. The staff is superb, very caring and warm, and you get the feeling they really know the residents well. Even the kitchen staff is warm and friendly. They have clearly worked hard to create a clean (impeccably), caring environment, with a staff that has a very low turnover. The outside talent (for the calendar of events) can be a bit weak, and some of the fixtures in the rooms show a bit of wear and tear, but these are minor nuisances. The food is quite tasty, IMO. Unlike other places we visited, Atria is a place where the residents are not isolated. Although the move was a big adjustment, mom seems content, and we are pleased with the experience.

Residents are not just cared for”they are encouraged to participate, connect, and contribute. A major added comfort for families is the availability of a primary care physician on site, along with rehabilitation therapists, which ensures timely and coordinated care. The community also provides transportation to destinations within a 10-mile radius, making it easy for residents to attend appointments or enjoy outings of their choice. Most importantly, the staff bring warmth, professionalism, and a personal touch that makes all the difference. As a family, that gives us tremendous peace of mind. We are grateful for the care and environment that Atria Briarcliff Manor provides, and would highly recommend it to any family navigating this important decision.

Heaven provided when we prayed to find a good residence facility for my husband. More than just good, we found a wonderful place. The Directorial staff came to meet us in the hospital, greeted us at the door when we arrived and showed us to his room in the Memory Care Unit; all the while giving us the guidance we needed to make the transition go smoothly. I was overwhelmed by the decision and made a pest of myself with questions and need. Not once did they bat an eye, as they continued to be supportive. Since the very beginning the Memory Care staff have treated him with respect, and sweet gentle guidance. I visit frequently and not once have I encountered anything but friendly warmth and professional competence. Many of these most helpful people have worked in the unit for years, which speaks volumes to the way the facility is run. They are happy here and it shows in the care they give. They know how to gently encourage him to engage with the community and are doing things for his happiness that I never could manage at home. Every day there are activities and enriching things for him to do. In addition to the daily activities provided the Memory Care residents on their unit, they are often taken upstairs to participate in the activities of the general population when they are able and are further enriched and stimulated. There are two very special people in the Memory Care unit that I must mention. Desiree, Director of the unit, and Margaret, the vibrant and engaging activities Director for the unit. These two women have interacted with my husband above and beyond! They have done wonders in the 3 months he has been there. I have entered the unit to find him sitting with the group, singing!!! crafting!!! participating!!! - things he never did at home. I could hardly get him out of bed, let alone to join in. He feels safe, comfortable and accepted. Nor can I say enough about the team of gracious ladies working with Desiree and Margaret, who do the daily work of providing for his health and well being in more physical ways. They have the patience to guide him as often as needed to get ready in the morning and evening, to come to meals and to be where he needs to be during the day. I have never even encountered a frustrated sigh, they are that good. Also very worthy of mention is the Assisted Living staff. While my husband and I are not dependent on them for actual care it’s there nonetheless. We frequently come upstairs for lunch or dinner in the main dining room. The wait staff and others on the team have begun to call him by name and know what he likes. Everywhere he walks, the Directors and other staff know his name and greet him by it. This! makes him feel like he belongs to the whole facility and not a stranger from downstairs. How wonderful is that! I need to especially mention Bridget and Kelly who direct activities upstairs. They go beyond their roles to make sure he is included where he can be, and feels welcome. There are so many people I could mention - from Barbara at the front desk to the maintenance guy, Jose , to the laundry people, to the driver, Dino - in fact I think I could name everyone I know there - who make Atria Briarcliff such a wonderful place. Quite honestly, I haven’t encountered a single place that hummed along with such good nature and competence from everyone.

Just a few words to comment on the wonderful supervision that my mother, Lillian, has had over the past sixteen months at Atria Briarcliff Manor ,Memory Care.The entire staff is always professional and courteous. Desiree Pacheco is a tremendous asset to Atria. I have never encountered a more caring and dedicated individual. Her passion as Life Guidance Director is unparalleled. I researched and visited many other Memory Care facilities and Atria along with Desiree and her staff are shining stars in a field that is difficult at best. On unannounced visits, it's comforting to see Mom and the other residents engaged in activities that are both mentally and physically stimulating. Kudos to Memory Care and the entire staff at Atria Briarcliff Manor.

My father has been with Atria for over 4 years. I do not live in New York but when I visit, my father is always engaged with other residents or with activities. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The building is clean and inviting. I do have family who are local and I frequently receive photos of my father at planned events and out on location. My father is in memory care. It was hard to see him move there from assisted living as he was always so independent. But I feel good knowing the quality of care and secure environment that Atria provides for him is what he needs right now.

Atria of Briarcliff Manor has been a lifesaver for me and my family. As my father became more difficult to care for, we decided to try Atria for a week, and it was a success. The staff was very kind from Barbara at the front desk to Joellen and the Director at that time Keisha. They asked many questions about my dad's care in assisted living and together we learned he needed more assistance than I initially thought. So much better as my dad was trying not to be a burden to me and was not asking for the help he needed together, we were able to meet his needs and independence. After a year and a half Dad was losing his memory more and more, so we moved him to Life guidance with Director, Desiree Pacheco. A smaller area safer and allowed him to get up in the night and walk without fear of falling or anxiety as Francia or Elizabeth was there to speak to him and allow him to get comfortable again and eventually return to bed. Desiree took special care to make sure he adjusted and was able to enjoy activities. I am happy that she has had more activities downstairs as the residents in Memory care really like to be there so activities in their area is so important. He has been in LG for over 2 years and as my dad turns 94 this coming year, I know he is well cared for and content. The staff in LG always lets me know what is needed what he said during the night if he was engaged during the day. Digna, Olga, Maria, Lourdes, Viviana all know my dad and ask questions about his life so they can interact with him better. Desiree encourages staff to be proactive and to allow them to discuss all issues they see. It feels like a team, and I feel supported and my dad's smile and laugh make me happy that he is engaged and happy. Desiree has also been so helpful letting me know from her experience what I can expect and what to watch for and this has been invaluable.

Over the past 3 years, I've been researching and touring many places for my 80+ year old mom. The Atria at Briarcliff Manor tops them all. It's not about the great food, nor the plentiful activities, nor the cleanliness of the property, these are all table stakes and should be expected. For me it's the staff! From top to bottom, they CARE! My mother's journey to the Atria was a tough one (still is on some days), she's a tough "cookie", and did NOT want to leave her lonely condo. However, the caring and attentive staff made this journey so much easier. I wish to especially thank Kate, Elissa, Desiree, Joellen, Bridget, Maggie, Barbara, Alice and Steve (sorry I may have missed others) for always being available (I call a lot), patient, helpful and kind to my mom, my brother and me. Atria Briarcliff Manor has been a safe haven for mom this past year. It was not an easy decision to move her to Memory Care. We researched and visited other Assisted Living/Memory Care facilities but once we toured the Memory Care unit at Atria in Briarcliff Manor and met Its Director, Desiree Pacheco and saw her interactions with its residents , we knew we found the right place. The Memory Care unit is clean , bright , secure and limited to approximately 18 rooms. In addition it has a secured outside patio with a park view. There are always activities to keep the residents engaged. We sleep well at night knowing mom is safe. All staff, reception, medical, nursing , wellness assistants and the Life Guidance Director all contribute to a positive experience for mom and her family.

From the moment we reached out to inquire about a new home for our mother - we knew Atria in Briarcliff was the right place! After speaking with Sales and given detailed information about Atria and the application process we went to visit. We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff and then were given a lengthy tour of the facilities - where ALL of our questions were patiently answered. The entire building and grounds are always immaculately clean and in wonderful and updated condition. Once we started the application process, Atria was able to assist with all the paperwork, payment information, insurance, etc. The dining room offers a great variety of daily meals, fun and festive foods on holidays, and has family meals - Mother’s Day was a wonderful (and delicious) shared meal together. Atria was great with pairing our mother with a buddy so she was not alone during her first meals and made her integration into the Atria community much easier. Our mom takes part in a number of activities which vary everyday - but particularly loves Happy Hour and live musical performances where she and others sing along. Also, the fact that she can get her hair cut and her nails painted on-site help her keep up not only her appearance but her spirits. Their Wellness staff is always available to us (via phone, email, or even just dropping in) and they take wonderful care of our mother. They are always kind and patient - whether it be providing medication, assisting with daily needs, or a friendly chat. They remain on top of our mother’s care and health needs and always communicate with us - as well as assist with scheduling and transporting to doctor’s appointments. Also, having a primary care physician on-site weekly helps to more easily maintain and monitor our mother’s wellness. Moving from her house in Florida to Atria was an adjustment for our mother - but everyone at Atria in Briarcliff made her feel welcome and extremely well cared for. From the family perspective, we sleep well knowing that our mother is in an environment where he is thriving physically, mentally, and socially - but where her health, safety, and welfare are always a priority. We could not be more thankful to everyone there!

The Atria at Briarcliff Manor takes pride in focusing their attention on every individual and their personal unique needs. My dad Has Lewy body Dementia and needed a new place to call home. He lives in the Life Guidance section which is run by Desiree. Joellen, the Resident Service Director and Desiree made all of this possible for my dad and family. The sense of community, care and compassion given on a daily basis has significantly impacted my dads life. When I visit him he is clean, happy, content and I can tell his soul is comfortable. The kindness, patience, and understanding of the entire staff has been a blessing to our family. The team on the Life Guidance floor has become a safe haven for both my dad and our family. It was my dads Birthday last week and I went to see visit him. My brother and I were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of yet another way The Atria is absolutely amazing. I am still in awe of the day we had. Desiree had balloons, table cloths, music and cake for my dad and all of his friends. She went above and beyond for my dad and I haven't seen my dad that happy in quite some time. The encouragement and support my father receives brings me peace. Between daily conversations, activities and therapy sessions my dad is thriving, something he hasn't been able to do in years. Your team has taken the time to get to know my dad, his needs, likes,dislikes, interests and tailor the care to meet him where he is at. You truly are all remarkable at what you do. I am so thankful to have found this home for my dad. Being part of the Atria family is truly special.

My family member was at Atria Briarcliff Manor NY Assisted Living and I can't say enough about this wonderful place. She arrived a little apprehensive of course, but from the first day that she arrived they made her feel welcomed and loved. Atria checked many boxes for us. They were always available to her and to our family. Their care was exceptional. She was the happiest that I have ever seen her. The food was very good and so was the great company from the other residents. The staff from the resident service director (Joellen), Executive Director (Takiesha), Lead Receptionist (Barbara) and the great medi-techs, housekeepers and wait staff, they were amazing every day. Every day there were activities; movies, exercise, news and views and many other things to do. You can feel the love they have for the residents. I highly recommend Atria to anyone who wants their loved ones to be safe, cared for and loved!

The staff members go beyond the call of duty, and it is evident that they find fulfillment in bringing joy and comfort to the lives of those under their care. My mom has been in the Atria family for the past 2 years, last 6 months has been at the Briaircliff Atria. It is just a wonderful warm and caring home for my mom as well as the other residents. I am at the Atria often and am always pleased at the respect and love the residents receive. Desiree is the Director of Life Guidance and she is one in a million. She is passionate about caring for the residents and giving them the best quality of life she can offer. Desiree is just a wonderful, warm, loving human being. I am so grateful that she is not only part of my mom's life, but also part of mine. I would and do recommend the Atria in Braircliff for anyone looking for a wonderful home for their aging parents. I can't express my gratitude enough to the wonderful staff there.

My folks lived at Atria for almost 1 year. A caring, attentive, and competent staff is makes the Atria at Briarcliff just phenomenal. They go beyond their call of duty. For example, Seba drove 3 hrs round trip in traffic to visit my parents, brought them culturally appropriate food and spoke w/ them for hours. Without this visit, despite my dad's cancer and mom's dementia, there would have been no way my parents would have agreed to move out of their house. My dad's care was very demanding due to his late stage cancer. My mom's dementia necessitates quite a bit of hand holding, and the Atria's driver, Dino, coordinated most of their doctors appointment. Enza, the sales director, went out of her way to help my family through this difficult time. The key part is that my parents both felt like they had their independence which translated to their happiness. Due to the small community, the staff and tenants became like family and we still keep in touch months after my mom moved out. Some of the staff and tenants still calls my mom to see how she's doing. My mom looks back very fondly of her time at this Atria.

Our Mother has been a resident at Atria Briarcliff Manor for a few years now. The staff is nothing short of spectacular. The warmth and caring each - to a person - gives to every resident is a joy to see and it's genuine - it is not contrived or done for appearances. It is a quality each possesses under the leadership of Executive Director Janis Knorr. Of particular note, Arlene Udeagha, the Director of the Wellness Center, goes above and beyond to not only ensure the health and wellness of residents but to understand the nuances that sometimes underly the issue at hand. Not content to "let things go", Arlene will endeavor to resolve issues thoroughly, always follows-up and makes sure her staff gives nothing but the best when serving Atria residents. Also in the "above and beyond" category, how could anyone fail to mention the indefatigable Bert who is so much more than merely a driver for Atria residents. Bert is a gifted facilitator who sees that all the residents are scheduled for and get to their appointments on time and safely. We know Mom is in excellent hands when in his charge. His patience knows no bounds and his empathy and understanding of residents' needs make him perfectly suited for his position. Our family cannot say enough about the beautifully appointed facilities, engaging programs and superior staff. Bravo to Janis and her gifted team. We are so glad to know our Mom has truly found a home she loves and a community to which she truly belongs.
