After years of being in and out of too many assisted living places to count, as a Board Certified Chaplain - this one is easiest among the very best I’ve ever worked in. It feels great, without any negative surprises or interruptions in Best Care. Ron Cottle Intermountain Health

My dad’s lived at the Charleston for 3 1/2 years. He loves it and so do I as his daughter. It feels like home. We love the friendly faces we see especially Tracy Hunter. In her varying positions, she is kind, caring and helpful.

I cannot speak highly enough of The Charleston and its staff (namely, Mitch and Jadyn--with whom I've primarily worked). They worked with me and my dad's VERY difficult situation, doing everything in their power to help make it work. The fact that they expedited things to ensure my dad would not have to go back to his apartment after his release from his rehabilitation skilled nursing center showed me that they truly cared about his well-being. I searched EXTENSIVELY to find the best assisted living for my dad, and The Charleston hit every mark. It was the most affordable for the incredible amenities and services offered. Truly impressed and so so grateful for their patience with me in figuring everything out. If I could give more than 5 stars I would

We placed our relative in The Charleston at Cedar Hills in December 2023, and she passed away in August 2025. We highly recommend the place. The staff was genuinely kind and loving and took great care of her, even though she could be difficult at times. The first time I walked in, I was impressed with the atmosphere. The residents were happy and busy socializing. The staff was cheerful. The building is nice and well kept. Jaydyn, Mackenzie, and the staff were responsive and proactive about needs and problems. I've dealt with several assisted living places, and the Charleston is the best I've seen.

The Charleston is an amazing Assisted Living facility! As a hospice nurse I get to be inside a lot of facilities, and the Charleston does it right! It’s very clean, they care about their residents, and provide an home instead of just a place to live! Jadyn, the Director of Assisted Living, spends so much time even after hours paying attention to details that impact the residents and their families for good!
November 2024
I couldn't ask for a better community for my grandparents to call home! The care team is attentive, caring, and take the time to get to know the residents personally. I love how involved the director is! It doesn't matter what time, day or night she goes out of her way to make sure she is available for anything that is needed. I can't say enough about how amazing Mckenzie and the care team at the Charleston are.

My parents moved in a few months ago. Their room is really nice. The staff are very friendly. My dad recently had to go to the hospital for an illness. We were having a difficult time getting him back to the Charleston. I reached out to Jaden at the Charleston, and she rearranged her schedule to visit him on a Saturday so we could get him home the next week. She was wonderful! We’ve had a few problems with some housekeeping and mealtime miscommunication; but overall, a great facility.

The nursing staff and administration at The Charleston provided exceptional care to a Hospice patient that we cared for together. On several occasions Wayne, Leanne, Mackenzie and other staff members stepped away from their other responsibilities to help me make sure our patient was well taken care of. I would highly recommend the Charleston to anyone based on the great communication and caring staff that work there.

Our mother was at the Charleston for over 4 years. Initially, she was not happy about having to leave her home, but we assured her that if she was not content, then we would move her back (she was having a hard time taking care of herself). Within a couple of weeks at the Charleston she did not want to leave and insisted that this was her new home. She made wonderful friends, enjoyed great activities, and was cared for by the staff there as though she was family. I would recommend this facility without any reservations. We are very grateful for her care there until she passed this last week. Charleston, thank you again!!
March 2017
Our mother lived in the Charleston for almost 12 years before she passed this past January. Over the last 12 years the Charleston staff has really made it a lovely home for my mom. They were attentive, kind, honest and made daily life a little brighter. My mother got to know so many of the aides and really cared about them. The relationships with other residents were positive. Meal time was great, classes were offered, the hair salon was so convenient and church was right inside the building as well. We were grateful that she had access to nurses and medical attention. All of her meds were watched over and administered as she grew older which was such a blessing. Having an all in one center enriched my mom's life and lifted the entire family burden as we knew she was in good hands. My mom loved being at the Charleston. As a daughter, I worried a lot about my mom who needed assistance to live. After moving into the Charleston, I knew she would be safe, secure, and the opportunity to remain active. She was well cared for each and every year. I would highly recommend the Charleston to anyone.
February 2017
What a truly wonderful HOME for my mother we found in The Charleston. We wanted a place she could call and feel like her home. She has met many peers to become friends with and she loves the branch so she can worship the way she was accustomed to . I like how she is cared for from the staff. She is treated better than family and everyone calls her by name. I really enjoy eating lunch or dinner with mom because the food is prepared like a fine dinning restaurant. I really enjoy the other patrons at the center I and my mother have made many new friends. Thank you Wayne and Staff for being there for our Mother and family .
February 2017
The director knows my grandmother by name, the staff are caring and friendly. The food is great. I would want to live there myself!
December 2016
Taking care of my aging father has been a train ride of unexpected experiences. Getting him in to the Charleston however, has been one of the best things for me and my family as well as him. When my father went to the ICU and then needed assisted living, I toured all the facilities in northern Utah county and the Charleston just felt right. They have a kind and compassionate staff, the building and facilities are in good condition, they provide good meals and can provide regulated medication. They have graduated levels of care that have allowed us to increase the care as his needs have increased. I have noticed that the staff takes time to learn personal history and particulars of each resident. I am always greeted in a friendly manner by name and the staff always knows and calls my father by name. If your loved one is LDS, they have a great branch there to which the residents can attend. In the end, I feel that he is safe and well cared for at the Charleston.
December 2016
While caring for an aging father one of my biggest concerns was that he felt secure and cared for. The Charleston fit that need in a remarkable fashion. They took my Dad and treated him as if he were family. His time there was short, but he mentioned often how kind and helpful the staff was and how welcome they made him feel. The care he received was truly professional and exactly what Dad needed. If you are in need of an assisted living facility for your loved one, I highly recommend the Charleston. Talk to Wayne. He makes it all very easy.

I am a hospice nurse, so I work with many assisted living facilities. The Charleston is one of my favorites. It is one of the facilities that I would trust to take care of family. The staff were very easy for me to communicate with and they knew each patient individually. The patients there are happy and very involved in their assisted living community. I also appreciate that the facility is very clean, nice-smelling, and "homey". I have found that makes a big difference for residents.

August 2016
We moved my father into the Charleston soon after my mother passed away. He grew to love the staff as his family. He learned all of their names and looked forward to the interaction with each of them. We loved that they would take time to talk and visit with him often. He enjoyed many of the activities and especially the church meetings throughout the week that he participated in. The only complaint that we had were that on weekends it seemed that his meds frequently got mixed up. They were quick to talk to staff to remedy the med situation. We would highly recommend the Charleston to anyone who is looking for a loving environment.
June 2016
We knew almost immediately that The Charleston was the right place for my parents upon our first visit. We had already visited several other facilities. The staff was welcoming and respectful to all. They made my parents transition much easier since they had moved from West Texas. They showed that they really cared. The food, activities and nursing support are definitely top-notch. I would highly recommend this facility to others looking for a safe and loving place.
February 2016
Our experience with the Charleston and its staff has been exceptional! Living at home, our dear mother was not eating, not taking her medication and had become non-communicative. She was wasting away and she was just not the very social mom we used to know. We evaluated several facilities in the area that could care for her properly and we chose the Charleston. What a fantastic choice that turned out to be. In just two short months, mom was up and about, dressing herself, tidying up her room, socializing with other residents and taking herself down to the cafeteria. Did I say cafeteria? It’s more like a comfortable restaurant with a formal menu with lots of choices. We have eaten there with her and the food was outstanding! But the best part about the Charleston is the staff! They are exemplary! It is clear that each staff member has been chosen for their love of people, their patience with the residents and their commitment to their duties. Mom was languishing at home and now she is thriving! Thank you Charleston.
November 2015
Staff was amazing. They care and love the people they serve.
September 2015
My father recently moved here. I am very impressed with the caregivers. One caregiver in particular, Chase, has really made an effort to help my dad get his bearings and feel at home in his new environment. Also, I appreciate the friendly atmosphere among the residents. There is a really good feeling in this facility. I'm sure the management plays a big role in facilitating and maintaining this positive energy.
March 2015
I have been so impressed with The Charleston. From the "feel at home" environment, to the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere they provide. The staff is so attentive, warm and actually take time to get to know their customers! So many rest homes seem bugged when you ask a question, or for any help. The Charleston does a great job making me feel important. From the bottom up this staff is friendly, professional and I highly recommend them to my family and to anyone who would trust their loved ones to such great care. Thank You, you are doing it right!
March 2015
My in-laws moved into The Charleston in late 2007. We toured a number of facilities and needed one that would be able to provide food for my father-in-law with his celiac disease. No one else measured up in quality of environment, willingness to work with the special diet, size of the apt. (two bedroom with nine foot ceilings), and warmth of the staff. For the past seven plus years, the staff, residents, and LDS Heritage Park branch have been "extended family" for our loved ones and nurtured Mom through the death of her husband, her struggles of failing health, and her own death earlier this month. Two different hospice companies have worked hand in hand with the staff to seamlessly provide needed care. Mom especially enjoyed the many Lone Peak High School students who brightened her days as meal servers. She also enjoyed the youth from two stakes who assisted in Sunday services and made visits to her personally when she was too ill to attend. There has been so much exceptional personalized service that there are not enough words to express our gratitude.
March 2015
It was a difficult decision to move my grandparents across the country from KY, but after looking over several assisted living facilities, we decided that The Charleston was definitely our top choice for them. The facility is wonderful and the staff is amazing. They are always looking for ways to help us as family and definitely are concerned with the welfare of my grandparents. I am so glad we chose this facility and we have had a wonderful experience since day one. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a way to assist aging family members. They really are the best in Utah.
December 2014
I moved my parents into the Charleston a little over two weeks ago. It has been great. The facilities are excellent and the staff is superb. It is great knowing they are well cared for and taken care of. I visit it very often and it is consistently warm friendly and properly staffed. I would move them there again in a minute. Thanks.
September 2014
My grandmother has been living at the Charleston for a year and a half. At first she was hesitant to move to a new place with people she didn't know. In this short amount of time she has made extended family friends. The staff genuinely cares about her well being, safety and comfort. They have regular outings that are safely accompanied so she can be out shopping as she loves so much. The Charleston has given my grandmother a place to live that gives her Independence in a safe and homey environment.
