I rate JKV very highly because of the village service and very helpful staff plus the friendly people living here. There is no place in my home city/metro that I would rather live than JKV.

My spouse and I have lived here now for just over 3 years and are still of the opinion that this is one of the best decisions we've ever made. The majority of the staff members have been employed here for over 10 years, so that might tell you a bit about the environment. It was a big financial decision for us, sure, but the benefit of discounted future long-term care is a significant plus. The residents here are of varied backgrounds and histories, and it is easy to find new friends, if that is one's intent. Our current dining credit is $330/month each, available at any of the seven (!!) restaurants on campus. The Lifestyles associates (activities) are in constant overdrive with arranging meaningful and entertaining events. There are frequent informative meetings about the goings-on with the Board, Resident Council, Finance Cmte.; transparency about all that is so important. There are many resident-run groups: political, gardening-related, history, religious -- as far as we're concerned, this is THE place to be.

Moved here 6 years ago. Heard it was a place for only the wealthy which we are not. After comparing prices associated with home ownership, the difference was $100/month, and they have a $220/month/resident food allowance. I can add and subtract, and I'm not stupid. Would have moved here 5 years prior if I had known the service, amenities, and pricing. HIGHLY recommend.

I just returned from visiting a relative that lives in the Manor 1/Villa 1 building. Once again the elevator is out of order. This happens far too often. The elevator was refurbished a year ago, two weeks worth of work, and it is worse than before. John Knox Village puts out advertisements about how they are a wonderful facility. Yes, they do have a lot of nice things for seniors, but just don't expect a working elevator to be one of them. C'mon, JKV, you can do better than this.

Following a surgery and what will require longer term rehab/aftercare, my father decided that a John Knox independent living apartment would be a good fit for him. He has lived in his own home for over 60 years, so making this decision was a tough one. The overall experience was made so much easier with the help of Sara and Cicely at John Knox. Sara hung tough and kept us informed throughout the entire process, and Cicely went the extra mile to get the apartment ready, and the lease available for signing, in time for my fathers release from rehab. The entire process was completed without a single hiccup, my father is enjoying the apt so far and what is available to him, and our family is very excited about his next chapter in life!

Went to stories pub in John Knox village it was very good staff very friendly food was great, very quiet everyone in restaurant seemed happy. Will be back to try the fish and chips

I was a Rehabilitation Aide at John Knox Village before they got their new therapy department through Aegis. I saw first hand the good treatment they provide to their clients in the care center as I was part of that care. When the new therapy department took over, they brought on everyone with a license, but I was unlicensed... John Knox Village decided to offer me a position delivering food in one of their kitchens, and I took it until I found something else. I will tell you, that a place that cares about their workers definitely cares about their clients. So, I highly recommend John Knox Village.

My mom was in JKV Village Hospice house before her passing. They took amazing care of her. Great staff. Clean and beautiful facility. Highly recommend.

I loved everything I saw here. The housing choices were fabulous, the amenities extensive, the landscaping beautiful. It's a life planning community so you can go from independent to AI to nursing or memory facilities. This is the top of my list so far.

Excellent care, rehab services (pt & ot) very good. I nursing care team, much improved - caring staff. The food service great, large variety to choose from and prompt meal scheduled in dining area. Recommend going to dining area to meet others to grow/socialize. The numerous extra services provided a plus, beauty salon, ice cream parlor, lovely hallways/grounds add fresh home feeling. If you need rehab knee, hip or other - I think you will have good experience.

Mom lives at the John Knox Village.... Village House at Chipman and Pryor Rd in Lee's Summit. She is well cared for, encouraged to enjoy the activities there and enjoys the very nice varieties in the meals prepared. She feels safe and secure and her four children visit often. Any concerns that arise are immediately dealt with and we are all satisfied and happy she lives there. Thank you John Knox Village !!
