Oak Park Place in Tosa is absolutely wonderful! Kind and passionate staff, fun activities, and an overall beautiful building. It really has that feeling of home and family that is so rare to find.

Oak Park Place is truly a Five Star Care center. From the clean, wide hall ways to the large rooms and caring staff. I have had family friends live there and have brought dental services to the residents. A-1 on my ratings.

What a super helpful, kind, and considerate team. I've been extremely pleased and grateful at the time and individualized attention Mom has received from the get-go. The leadership team spared no effort to facilitate a quick move, within mere days, as I was most eager to get Mom out of the hospital and into her own spaces. Understanding, quick, and responsive to every concern, I feel relieved knowing Mom has such a caring and capable team at her back.

Everyone at Oak Park Place have been so helpful in welcoming my sister to her new living situation. The transition has gone so well! The building is beautiful and the apartments spacious. The staff go out of their way to make sure everyone has the opportunity to join in the activities and they are all so kind! They really care about their residents. I know my sister is being well cared for.

We are writing on behalf of Arylene Miller's family to thank Oak Park Place, Wauwatosa, for the compassionate care extended Arylene during her 18 month stay in the Memory Care Unit. Your staff has been exceptional! From the moment we toured the facility with [Name Removed], we felt welcomed and at ease. The apartment provided an at-home atmosphere in which we decorated with numerous wall hangings and her favorite pieces of furniture. Oak Park Place kept her safe and us informed throughout the pandemic. We appreciated that peace of mind. The care staff were so patient and nurturing to Arylene and our entire family. Thank you for providing Arylene with comfort and the ability to pass with dignity at age 98.

I have a relative residing in Oak Park and I had always had a negative perception of senior living facilities until I heard about the excellent treatment and care she was receiving, and it was affirmed when I witnessed it with my own eyes. I havent visited in a while, but from what she has told me, theres been an uptick of care and management in the past few months as she feels like new energy has come through. Always amazing to hear your loved ones are happy and taken care of.

My mother Arlene, had the pleasure of residing here for over 7 years after my father passed away. In the beginning the transition was difficult because she lived with my dad in their home for over 50 years. The team was so kind and made her feel at home with having one on one conversations and just lending her comfort and compassion. After a few months, she called Oak Park Place Home and us kids were often worried because she never answered her phone, we would call the front desk to see if she was OK only to find out she was out busy socializing with her new friends and not in her room. Mom enjoyed all the activities. I can honestly say my mother got, stronger, happier and younger than when she first walked in the door. I remember one particular day, I wanted to take her out to dinner, and she turned me down because it was Black Jack night. The staff always checked in on her, while allowing Mom to have her privacy, I think she thought she lived in a college dorm. A genuine loving staff

We recently moved my mother into this facility in February. We did so much research, interviewed over 20 places in SE WI. It was as such a hard time for our family. And then we met John and the wonderful people at Oak Park Place. Now, several months later, our matriarch is doing so well SHE HAS BEEN GRADUATED OUT OF HOSPICE!!! Oak Park Place saved my mom and our family in so many ways. We love this place and we are so grateful.

Update 5-14 - Since our grandma has been at Oak Park Place, she is healthier than we have seen her in years. Her legs are no longer swollen, she is clean (we used to find her sitting in her own feces with the in-home service we hired, Touching Hearts), and she is HAPPIER. Of course, she still says she misses home - she always will, its where she built her life and family. But she is cared for and safe and healthy in her new home. Our family recently began the long, arduous journey of finding a memory care facility for our beloved Matriarch, and we are beyond grateful that we found this place. John and Dolly and ALL of the staff have been partners in the most difficult decision our family has had to make. They came over and assessed our grandmother, and she loved them so much they ended up staying awhile and celebrating her 92nd birthday with us. They have accommodated her personal interests, her routines, and always been accessible to our family - answering emails and calls, spending a great deal of time with us and with their newest resident. They were the only place whose plan of care included both the necessary aspects of memory care, as well as individualized pieces just for her. We are so grateful, and while the transition will take time, we are confident in the care and happiness and quality of life our grandmother will receive at Oak Park. Thank you from all of us!

We have had a positive experience at Oak Park Place. Mom says the people there are nice and take good care of her. Her rooms are large enough but not to big and she enjoys the meals. The people were very helpful in getting her set up and helping with any questions we have.

I have had the opportunity to do volunteer pastoral care for the residents over the years. The facility and staff have always been friendly and accommodating and the residents were always engaged indicating their care has been good. The facility is clean and quiet. In the rooms I have seen, they are spacious and comfortable. Activities are excellent and varied with a great staff and director.

My parents have lived at OPP for just over 1 year now. It is a nice facility, clean and quiet. My father is in assisted living and my mother in memory care. My sister and I have been extremely happy with the care they both receive. My father is not an easy man to get to know and due to his life circumstances can be very difficult, however, the staff has gotten to know him and treat him well even in the midst of his difficult days. The staff is very responsive to our requests and we are grateful for the care and kindness they show our parents. In this difficult year of Covid, it is good to know that the Oak Park staff was doing everything they could to keep our parents healthy and cared for.

Oak Park Place in Wauwatosa is welcoming and committed to their residents comfort, health, and safety. Their view is that they are working in your parents home, not that your parents are living where they work. They value their residents mental health as well. They have activities for the residents, such as games, movies, and exercise classes. I have to give this facility five stars. They deserve it.

I recently moved my family member to Memory Care at Oak Park Place in Wauwatosa. The team of the Nursing Director, Admissions-Sales Director and Activities Director have all been extremely kind, supportive and helpful to both me and my family member during this difficult transition. They go out of their way to treat us as individuals and address any questions or needs that arise. I would recommend Oak Park Place to anyone looking for this type of care. The facility is clean, homelike and all the care staff have also been kind and helpful.

We recently moved our parents into this facility and were impressed from the start by the no pressure meeting we had with the director. He is a kind, soft spoken, gentleman who genuinely cares about the well-being of his residents. He also has a great sense of humor! My parents needed to move from their former facility and needed more reliable, higher level care. The facility is quiet, and very clean and bright. There is artwork adoring the walls from local schools and the outside was festively decorated for fall. My parents apartments are well lit, clean and have excellent storage. Big windows were a plus for them as well. The staff, especially the director and the nurse have been extremely attentive and willing to go the extra mile for my parents. Laundry and cleaning have already been done several times since they moved in. In a very short amount of time, they have shown great care and compassion to my parents which brings us great comfort. We know they are safe and well taken care of.

We felt that finding a safe, comfortable home for our beloved aunt was going to be difficult. We visited over a dozen facilities before being referred to Oak Park Place. The administrative team was welcoming and informative, the caregivers were friendly and resident-focused and the facility beautifully appointed. We knew that Oak Park Place was the right choice for our family and are very happy with our decision.

What an incredible staff at OPP. My grandmother recently moved in there and we as a family could not be happier. Everyone there has been more than accomodating and bend over backwards to make whatever it is you want to have happen, happen. People talk to you, introduce themselves to you, are articulate and kind. The food is excellent. The tasks are completed with a smile and a cheerful demeanor. Communication between admin-nurses-all staff and the family is outstanding. It is extreamly clean and well kept up. We all feel welcome and at ease knowing that grandma is so well taken care of. We are so glad we found this place and I will highly recommend it to anyone I encounter who is looking for Assisted Living for their loved one!

Oak Park Place is the best job I have ever held in my life. Being in activities I have gotten to know about the lives of each of the residents. The staff as well as residents treat me so kindly and truly care about me as an individual. This job has really opened up my eyes to what I want to do with my life in the future. I wake up every morning so excited to get to work and spend my day having fun with the residents. We do things like cooking, games, exercising, shopping, and just talking! These residents changed my life and truly make me feel like family! I 100% recommend this facility for anyone looking for a job that makes them motivated to change lives!

My mom recently had to go into assisted living which was very emotional for all of us in the family. Oak Park Place made this experience very easy and comfortable. John Pokrandt who is the Director of Sales went above and beyond to accommodate my mom. Oak Park Place is very clean and the aids have been extremely helpful and pleasant. Although its only been a week, my mom has made a few friends and has participated in all the activities. John was so kind to give me a call to let me know her progress since I live out of town. I am sure my mom will be very happy here. Thank you Oak Park Place for an easy transition.

My dad lived at OPP for 5 years before passing away 2 weeks ago. To help with various stages of his life there is an amazing director, Tanya. She has made a wonderful difference to the entire operation. Positive changes, more staff, new ideas for activities, and most of all listening, made my dads final year an easier transition. Her previous experience and compassion shows with smiling faces, great meals, and happy residents.

Too many times we only hear and read about negative comments of skilled nursing home facilities. I understand there have been a few recent concerns with this facility, however, I also understand that Cara Hesse a regional nurse for the company has recently started working closely with the staff here in the last couple of weeks. Having worked in the past with Cara, I hope to help put your minds at ease knowing she is here. I have known Cara to be extremely responsible, very caring, knowledgeable and an excellent listener to those in need! Her expertise in the area of skilled nursing as well as her interpersonal skills with residents, their families and staff alike is far above many. I know there will be great positive changes in the quality of care with Cara's presence there working with the management team! I would encourage anyone to approach her with any issues or concerns you may have! Jonni Janikowski, RN, LNHA, CRC, CIMT, Janikowski Consulting LLC

If I had a make a decision for placement of my loved one it would be at Oak Park Place. For most people that could be hard to do. I think part of it is knowing the other side of the business of healthcare. Sometimes people are too soon to judge the jobs of healthcare workers. To be a healthcare worker you need to have the knowledge, the ability to listen, and the need to care. These are the Wonderful qualities of Cara Hesse RN. I have worked with her in the past and I would trust her to take care of my family. She has all of the qualities that I have listed above and then some. And I hope that the residents, and management team at Oak Park Place that have the chance to work with Cara enjoy what she brings. Sharing and strong caring is what she knows and lives by. I have toured this facility twice now, once was scheduled, once I walked in unannounced late in the day. I was pleased to see it was the same even when they didn't expect me. I was referred by a friend from church who's mother lived there 2+ years until she passed recently. She had rave reviews, nothing but compliments. The receptionist made me feel right at home, the staff were warm and pleasant. The nurse and director took time to answer several questions I had about my own Mom and really seemed compassionate and understanding, even offered helpful suggestions. David was so kind and gave me a wonderful tour, even asked if I wanted to stay for dinner. Several residents we encountered said how happy they are to live there. We passed some ladies who were getting their nails painted, something my mom loves, and I just knew it was a sign. I have toured 8 other facilities, none even came close to my experiences here. If all goes well, Mom will be moved in very soon.

My wife has had Parkinson’s for about 10 years. She has lived here at Oak Park place for eight months. Her normal dose of Parkinson’s meds usually last under 2 ½ hours before she becomes immobile and needs help. She has many other problems with anxiety, short term memory, back problems and digestion. During the past three years I became unable to care for her by myself in our home; so, I sold our home and we moved to a senior apartment, but that didn’t work either. I was then able to arrange for her to get care in an assisted living community, then a nursing home and finally to here- Oak Park place. I found that most places that are supposed to take care of our loved ones find that it’s too difficult to do what our loved ones desperately need. Reaction times to patient problems need to be short and meds must be given on time. This place, Oak Park place, Is the best place I have found to provide the support, understanding and problem-solving abilities that I know it takes to care for my wife. They do a great job on understanding Parkinson’s disease and training their employees to react quickly to problems and the necessity of giving meds on time to prevent discomfort to patients. I think there is a lack of general knowledge in the caring for Parkinson’s patients. But, I believe Oak Park is a leader and very successful in this area.

The staff here is amazing. I'm usually up there in the evenings visiting my mom, Lorraine Johnson, in hospice care, and the staff in the evenings is truly a pleasure to have tending to my mom. They are so incredibly kind and courteous, and I really couldn't have picked a better team to treat my mom with the dignity and the respect that she deserves and they give. I wish I knew all their names, but Gina and Robert are really the ones who stand out in my mind the most because they're there almost every day I am. What a great place. It's secured for the safety of the Alzheimer's residents, it's extremely clean, and the staff are truly angels. Highly recommend for anyone needing dementia or end-of-life care. Kudos Oak Park Place! You have a tough job that not just anyone would be able to do, and you're all awesome at it.
