Caring
Encompass Healthcare & Assisted Living is wonderful as far as the care of my dad. The house is always clean. They are short staffed occasionally, but they're trying to remedy that. He's very happy there. They're kind and give him good home-cooked meals. The place is always spotless when you walk in. It's not a fancy place, but I couldn't ask for a better place for him. They have morning exercise, church on Sundays, and bingo.

I needed assistance in choosing a place for my brother, as I had no experience with this before. I feel I got that assistance, with no pressure from either A Place for Mom or from Encompass. We are very satisfied with the services my brother is receiving at Encompass. The staff is very helpful, friendly and he is adjusting very well to his new surroundings with their help. His memory continues to fade slowly, but they are so kind to him with the frustration he has with his memory. His meals are satisfactory to him. He is able to have us spend time with him whenever we want, which was important to us. We wanted a place where we could stop by to pick him up for a meal, the day, even an overnight, without a hassle. As long as they are aware that he is with us, they encourage his outings. We would recommend Encompass to anyone who is looking for a home-like setting for a loved one.

My mother is in Encompass. It is the right place, and it is what she needs. She likes it there. They have been very good to mom. Mom can be difficult at times, and they have been pretty patient with her. I really don't have any complaints except that I have a little trouble with follow up. They don't call me as often as I think they should. She has some behavior problems and some short-term memory loss, and she gets a little feisty sometimes. We had an incident last week that I just accidentally happened to figure out what was going on, but they didn't call and let me know. That is the only negative thing; they didn't communicate with me often enough about what they observe. Otherwise, they have been patient with her, and she doesn't have any complaints.

I was very impressed with everything about this facility after taking a tour last week. The staff are all friendly and very helpful, the RN is very versed in this field, and the price was the best in the Twin Ports area. I would highly recommend anyone searching for Assisted Living in this area to take a tour!
