This community promises many things but delivers few of them. Their biggest fault is communication. They are absolutely the worst at replying to emails or phone calls. I don't believe my mother receives the care she is paying for.

Layton Terrace takes very good care of an elderly church member. It is a clean, safe space for him. Staff are attentive and the residents are kind to ine another.

My family highly recommends Layton Terrace Senior Community for your loved one. We dealt with Tracy during the application process (2-27-2023) and she is very professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the facility and had answers to our many questions. Layton Terrace's staff has been very friendly and responsive to my sister. There are many activities to do for the residents in the common areas, which has helped my sister socialize more than she has in many years. It was nice to hear from another existing resident talk about how nice Layton Terrace has been to her over the years. Tracy and her staff also helped us deal with an issue at my sister’s “old” Rehab Care Center (in Oak Creek) and LTSC went above and beyond what I expected. Well done Tracy and all the staff at Layton Terrace.

I highly recommend Layton Terrace for those who need a safe, clean and loving environment for their loved ones. We moved Dad to Layton Terrace following his stay at Library Square as his dementia progressed and he needed extra care (my mom died several years earlier). The facility was clean and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They took great care of my dad, who could be quite a handful as his dementia progressed. The Health Services Coordinator in Memory Care was a stand out--he spent a lot of time with my dad, just listening to his stories. He was such a calming influence on my dad! We truly appreciated his efforts. I live far away, and felt so much better knowing Dad was getting such great care. My dad passed in 2019; before he passed the staff recommended Badger Hospice, who are angels on earth. Thank you to the staff at Layton Terrace for making my dad's stay so comfortable and pleasant!

Update 2/12/22. Friday night over 30 residents went to front desk & complained about dinner! Come on SincersiSL! This is awful! I don't recommend because of the poor food service. My family member has been there two years & routinely has complaints as does my family member's table mates & other residents. The food is cold or at best luke warm. Meat is generally dry an impossible to cut with the butter knife provided. Butter pads are ice cold & not spreadable on rolls. They run out of desserts the residents select a week ahead of time. Initially the soups were decent and now even those are poor. Hospital food is warmer & better....that's a shame. The residents raise these issues & nothing changes. The food directors have changed several times & the man they have now is no better. Perhaps they should invest in hospital delivery trays that are insulated so they can deliver hot food to tables. Running out with cold food isn't getting it. The frustrated residents complain to servers & really what can servers do? They recently upgraded the tables & chairs but that is cosmetic. Sure it's nice but you're still unhappy with dinner. This is so sad. Many of the residents don't get out much and dinner is a highlight of their day to enjoy dinner & socialize. Instead people become crabby because of the continuous meal letdown & the crabbiness is contagious. I've been there at dinner time and heard the complaints at the table. Plus as a family member it's hard to hear the constant complaints re dinner. The one highlight was the summer picnic where the food was good. Higher management within the company needs to visit unannounced and assess the food and the kitchen to determine what they can do to make things better. There are good staff members who work their butts off and are friendly and helpful to residents and guests. There are a few social events. The apartments are decent & maintenance responds timely. Another big issue is for assisted care they don't have enough good medical techs or enough techs to respond timely to calls for help. A plus is residents are friendly and welcoming. Bottomline—my suggestion is if you're interested in moving here, ask to come and have dinner with the residents before you sign a lease. Residents are required to purchase a minimum of 18 dinners a month. UPDATE 2/8/23 To owner SinceriSL. I appreciate that you offered me to contact you. I decline because - 1) My post clearly identifies my concerns. There is nothing additional to understand. The daily dinners are poor! I gave clear examples of the issues with food service. It's not a one time thing or unique to one individual. Anyone who reads my review could easily understand my concerns. 2) I gave an action suggestion that management should visit unannounced, assess food service, and improve it. I would ask the dinner servers what complaints the residents have because I assure you they know as residents often complain. Additionally, you should already know the issues as residents have provided feedback on dinners/food to your organization at meetings and thru surveys (more than once). No improvements nor any real concern or action from your organization resulted. 3) My contacting you will identify me thus identifying my family member. I don't want anything negative happening to my family member nor for my family member to be singled out. This is more than a single resident issue. Should you choose to actually address the shortcomings identified, I'll gladly remove my review or update it to show the responsive actions taken. I hope you really care enough to investigate and make changes as the residents deserve it as do any potential residents. PS: Maybe copy my comments and forward them to Dr. Angie Fleenor, DNP, APRN, MSN, FNP-BC | Vice President of Clinical Operations. Maybe she would understand and address the issues if they are not clear to whomever responded to understand.

The director, marketing person, and nurses at Layton Terrace never return phone calls. My mother was in independent living, and needed to be moved to assisted living. I tried for MONTHS to get someone to return my calls to get her moved. Now she is in rehab after a fall, and is ready to return to Layton Terrace, but needs to be assessed by Layton Terrace to determine what level of care she will need. Our family and the rehab facility have been trying to get the director or nursing staff to return our calls for a week, while my mother sits in limbo at the rehab facility.

Very nice staff. My mom has been happy at LT. One suggestion would be some type of reminder system on the same day of an activity or planned outing. My mom as like other residents has a memory disorder and would probably take advantage of the outings if she remembered to go to them. Another relative is in a place where the staff will go round up those residents with Alzheimers. Socialization is key to help slow progression. Overall, I really like LT. The safety side peace of mind it has brought me is priceless.

I recently went through the process of coming to understand that my mom needed to move within Layton Terrace (LT) from the assisted living wing to a wing that provides more staff oversight. Mom moved to her new apartment in August.I have long been uncomfortable contemplating how much I did not know about the changes mom is and will be going through at this stage of her life (she is 92 years old). Melissa, the Director of Nursing, when discussing this with me reminded me that Layton Terrace staff was not only there for mom, but was there to support me as well.It has been a great comfort to me that Melissa and Sandi (LT Executive Director) identified this needed change, brought it up gently at the proper time and helped me navigate through the personal and practical layers of this decision.Of course, the care given to our moms, dads is everyones focus. Also important and maybe overlooked is the important point that staff recognizes and provides needed support to us all as we move with our loved ones through their changes.

The staff truly cares about the residents. New buildings and nice fancy features are pretty to look at it, but the overall care for my loved one matters more. Experience does matter when it comes to care.
