We moved my grandmother into Marla Vista assisted living over 4 years ago. Through the years the facility has gone through various owners and changes. Unfortunately, they reached a point where I was going to move my grandmother to another location. I had some serious conversations with the management and new staff and made the decision to leave her at the facility. To be honest, I am so grateful that we made that decision. I feel like the facility has made some amazing changes-the staff they have hired truly cares about the residents, the building has been updated and is very welcoming and, most importantly the residents are well cared for and appear happy! I appreciate the effort the facility has put into making quality improvements for the benefits of the residents.

Moving a loved one into Assisted Living or Memory Care is never an easy decision. My Father has been at Marla Vista for 3 years. In January of 2020, Marla Vista was combined with Sr. Housing Management. There were many changes with this transition, however, ALL FOR THE BEST! There is all new management, divided into Administration, Care Management-Wellness, Dining Services and Life Enrichment-Activities. Staff turnover is NOT a concern, as it was in the past. Dining services have been updated to a menu style, allowing residents to choose from two to three item entrees at each meal. Each meal comes with a fruit, vegetable and dairy option based on the residents dietary needs. Snacks and drinks are always available to residents in between meals. Alan is the head chef and is amazing!!Each resident has their own studio apartment with bathroom and shower facilities. Each apartment is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave (if needed). Life Enrichment includes; daily exercising, Bingo, painting, reading the paper, church services, many more fun activities!A complete painting and design updates were completed in 2020. The facility is much brighter and common areas are very clean! THIS WAS A BIG ONE FOR ME!! My Dad is comfortable, cared for and enjoys the staff and friends he has at Marla Vista!

If I could get my grandmother out of here I would. She says for the most part the staff is nice but the turnover is high and constantly changing. She says the food is pretty wretched, often cheese is used to cover it up, so not so healthy. Ive seen it. The place is so dark and enclosed too with hallways that feel like underground tunnels and it seems that most of the windows of the bedrooms yield unfortunate views. My other grandmother is in a beautiful care facility so Im not anti-assisted living homes, I just know I would not wish to spend the end of my years in such a dark and cold feeling place.

Our Grandmother has been at Marla Vista for over a year now. It took a little while for her to transition from living somewhat independently in her own home and moving into an assisted living apartment. She now calls "MARLA VISTA" home.!!! That gives us to much peace of mind. Thanks to the warm and caring staff/caregivers...

My now 93 year old mom has been here for 8 months after living on her own for many years, and constantly tells us how glad she is to be here, how nice all the people who work here are, how good the food is, and so on. Along with hospice care, she is well taken care of. The facility and her "suite" w/small kitchen and huge bathroom are clean and smell-free, and the staff genuinely cares about her well being. Would highly recommend to anyone with a similar need.

A big thank you to the Marla Vista staff and the administration. They are to be commended for doing a difficult job. Help is given when needed and all are friendly We very much enjoy the family events. The residents are given many opportunities to socialize and to get their exercise. The food is adequate except for the pork soup. The laundry procedure needs some attention. Over all we are satisfied and would recommend Marla Vista to others.
