Very nice homey atmosphere. The relations director, Sara, answered all our questions, and assured us that our parents would be well taken care of. I would recommend this home to others.

My experience living at The Waterford is very satisfactory. All staff go above and beyond what they are required to do. I live here under independent living but I do enjoy participating in the different meal options available. The other residents living here are delightful to be around, intelligent and just a joy to be living with. I have no negative factors to list.

Im an outside contractor who has worked on several projects at this facility and have always found the manager Lisa to be very concerned about the quality and well-being of her tenants. I also have a mom who is currently living in another assisted living facility back home that is a smelly, poorly run mess. The differences between these two facilities is quite stark. I wish my Mom could live here.

Moving my in-laws from their home of over 40 years was no small task. They had been looking for a new place to call home for a while. The staff at Waterford helped to ease this transition for everyone in the family. They listened to my in-laws needs to help them find the apartment that was the best fit for them. They helped connect my in-laws with resources they could utilize to help them downsize. The knowledge and compassion of the staff was phenomenal from day one. Through this Covid pandemic, they have had amazing communication with us and have made decisions to help keep their residents safe and happy. It is such a relief to know they have a new community of friends and activities. They are able to enjoy the retirement they deserve with help with meals and cleaning if necessary. Thank you for providing excellent care and having an amazing staff.

My mother couldnt be happier. She moved from her own home to Independent Living. She likes the food, her apartment, and the new friends. Transition has been seamless. There could be more daily programming. Not everyone needs bus rides to doctor visits. Staff is friendly.

I dont have a basis for comparison other than 3 other places in Madison, however the staff seems very kind who is in the building. The meals looked fairly healthy, and they have a notice of a committee working on a food committee in the elevator. They dont have a gluten free option, yet say they have added many vegetarian options. You have the option to cook in our own unit, however youre paying for the meals. A couple we met said they enjoyed the food there and enjoyed the atmosphere. Youre allowed to have coffee all day and some juice drink, but only allowed to have oj, apple juice, etc at breakfast time. I would think for the cost ( 5K per month) that there would be more amenities as the pool that is shown on the website is no longer functional and is not supposed to become functional. Warm water therapy is very helpful for elderly, so this wouldnt be an option for me personally. However they have speech, OT, and physical therapy available depending on your Dr. orders, insurance. There is not a meal option, however if youd like your family to eat with you there is a charge of $8.50 per meal which isnt bad. The dining room is tastefully decorated. We saw 2 nursing staff in a break room on their phones, appearing to surf the net, perhaps on their lunch break at 1 PM. There were 2 nursing assistants however standing outside smoking for an extended period of time( 20 minutes), who didnt smile at us. I would think if they liked spending time with elderly they would ask what they could do to help rather than spending time outside smoking for the cost of staying here, and what they most likely receive for caring for clients. There are two pianos, a nice library, a pool table and a small entertainment center with a popcorn popper for movies that are scheduled and football games. This has a homey feel and is nice to have gas fireplaces with a flip switch. Each unit has a nice balcony, clean floors with carpeting that is easy to maneuver with a wheelchair. The outside patio of the dining room has tables with umbrellas that are very nice, and a pond to overlook. All in all compared to other places this is in the running for a good choice, albeit small for someone going from a home into a retirement center and very little room for storage.

We toured this community and it was nice and clean. The staff was helpful and we actually put a downpayment down. Then they did the assessment and we were told they couldn't take him after doing all the paperwork. They had lots of daily activities to offer here. I would just recommend doing the assessments first.

My parents-in-law lived at The Waterford for about a year, and it was very nice. I liked that everything was in the main building, and that residents can stay in the same room as their needs increase; no need to move to different units of care. I also liked that they had underground parking and more security than some of the other communities I’ve seen. It’s a newer facility with a lot of activities, but it was quite expensive, and my loved ones needed to move somewhere cheaper. If you can afford it though, this community is great.

My mom is doing very well here, she has started making friends and even taking part in the activities and field trips. They just did a fall Colors tour to see all the trees changing colors. Mom has a very nice 2 bedroom, with a den and a balcony that looks out over the park. Mom has furnished it with her own furniture so it is starting to feel like home to her. Even with her kitchenette she likes going to the dining room, the menu needs some work but the company of the other residents during mealtime is nice. I would definitely recommend setting up a tour here as everyone here, the staff and the residents are so friendly and they really help make this community a nice place to live.
