Reviews Beloit Memorial Hospital
August 2024
BMH emergency has earned my trust over the years as I have never had a bad experience there and are always prompt but above all they have always been able to get me back to health quickly and correctly with the right meds and services which is more than I can say about GHC and Mercy. I prefer that above anything in Madison and other area's. For the last 20 years this has been my first go-to choice even if it's farther away.
August 2024
In the normal scheme of things, this is an okay hospital. But for serious long-term multifaceted issues, you might be looking for some place better in Madison. It seems they take a long time with multifaceted issues deciding the best course of action. In the meantime things get way way worse.

Excellent cafeteria! Friendy and Clean.

The treatment received thus far for my wife has been more than exceptional and I would say that it has been better than any other health care system I have been around. Exceptional and professional thus far from testing, diagnosis, surgery, post op care, and current continued treatment.

Dr was very good although I woke up with the device down my throat. Seemed to take a long time for nurses to get it out. Dr. wasn't there at that time.

Had an appointment here and was conveniently getting into and checking in

My mother sat in the hospital over Christmas because doctor did not come to discharge her. We were told the doctor was not coming in on Christmas even tho she was ok to go home. I've never heard of a hospital that did not have a doctor in it.

I spent Dec 2020 to Feb 27th 2021 in beloit hospital with covid. I was ready to give up n asked for DNR wrist ban; but the Cna's n Nurses n Doctors to the janitors n the staff in cafeteria Treated me like a million dollars. They were working long hours n still polite, always there when asked for help and listened to my questions. I went thru the worst nightmare on covid19 and from heart issues to breathing and nose surgery to a 216 to 141 weight loss they helped me finally get out and back to 80% better shape then when came in at level 33 oxygen breathing. I can't ever thank the entire staff enough. I will never recover 100%; but I get to at least enjoy more time with my Grandkids. Thank you To ALL.

Docs do rounds early. I went in at 8 so I could talk to them about my wife, who was waiting for a bed to open at UW hospital in Madison. They told me I couldn't go up until visiting hours started at 11. I said I was going up anyway. I sat quietly in my wife's room. About 15 minutes after I arrived, 5 Beloit police officers showed up to escort me, a 66 year old man, out of the hospital. I won't say what I think about this experience. Can't wait to get to UW, where the visiting hours are 8 to 8. Update: I have most often been allowed to go up - this was only the second time I was turned away before visiting hours (by the same CNA - she must be on a power trip). The admin has promised to review their visitor policy and said that this will not happen to me again. I must also say that over the past 15 months (multiple surgeries, stays and e/r visits) my wife has had compassionate care from nurses and doctors, so my original 1-star rating was way too harsh. Special kudos to the e/r doc caring for the patient in room 17 yesterday, 11/29/22.

The place has been great to me for several years now. The staff is actually pretty great. Not perfect but who is? I like the Hospital layout and the ease of getting to each floor and unit. I believe maybe a few bad apples can spoil a bunch, but don't rule out the other great people at Beloit Memorial. I'm very satisfied and I've been admitted to the hospital in recent past and I felt I had really good care.
February 2023
Went there for a surgery had a suprapubic catheter,at discharge from hospital the nurse put on the leg bag, and for got to remove the plug to let urine flow into bag. 12 hours after discharge I ended up in emergency in A LOT of pain. Because of a nurse not knowing how to hook up the bag , that emergency visit was over 600 bucks. I don't believe I should have to pay for a nurses incompetence. Rest of my care there the nurses were great, it was just the one who checked my out that was unprofessional .

My Mother just passed away. We are so impressed with the care and service we received both in the ER and during her hospital stay.

Very good care, recently remodeled, very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
May 2022
Emergency room nurses were very nice and helpful but Jeff M. Was rude and accused us of smoking in the hospital then proceeded to be rude and ignorant while I was in pain they took 2 hours to get me in then did different test that shouldn't have taken over an hour each and I ended up being there for 8 hours just to be told my problem was normal they also told me they were prescribing medicine then didn't send it to the pharmacy I had asked for Tylenol 4 times and didn't get anything till I was about to leav

I have been going to Beloit Memorial Hospital on and off for five years. I have never had a bad experience. Always good.

I'm sad to see so many bad reviews from so many ungrateful people. Not only have I been treated with nothing but respect, but beloit hospital has saved my life multiple times. Even the food is good. I spend more time than I like there, and I'm grateful to have such a nice facility, but, more importantly, great staff that not only takes great care of me, but also treat me like a human being. I'd recommend to anyone. A special kudos to Dr Leo, who's kept me alive longer than I thought possible.

My review pertains primariliy to the mammography department. Registration was quick and easy. After I checked in, I didn't have to wait long to be taken back. The changing room was lovely. There was a peaceful energy. The radiology specialist was so congenial. Everybody knows there's nothing "pleasant" about a mammogram, but she made me as comfortable as possible and was very patient with me. She double-checked the images so as to make sure I wouldn't have to come back and have them done again. On the way out, I stopped to ask where the records department was. Instead of making me go there, the nice lady called the department to check on the status of my records request. She even took down my name and number so they could inform me when they arrive. I told her I was new to Wisconsin, and she gave me a very warm welcome. The facilities weren't just clean, they were pristine!

Janice is an AMAZING phlebotomist. My son has Asperger's and difficult veins to get a blood draw from. She was very kind, supportive, and got it right away on the first try each time! She is truly an angel!!!

After waiting 12 hours in another hospital's emergency room without being seen, Beloit got me in and took the best care of me! I have a lot of experience with hospitals and I couldn't ask for better care! They were thoughtful with their tests and treatment and I ultimately had emergency surgery and stayed overnight for monitoring. All the nurses, doctors and staff were all rockstars! This team deserves all the respect we can give them! My sincerest thank you!

Went in to ER for what I believe was appendix attack. After they quickly examined me and got confirmation from a CT scan it indeed was a rupture in the appendix. Do to my age and a 20% mortality rate my surgeon recommended I stay 5 days to insure infection and blood counts where under control. Shout out to Dr Carne and nurses Hayle and Lisa Pop who made my stay as comfortable as possible. Clean efficient and prompt staff. Would recommend here without question.

I just recently had surgery on my clavicle(collarbone) and was pleasantly surprised by the whole medical staff involved in the procedure. Contrary to what many of these reviews say, I found everyone there to be genuinely caring and loving.

my mother was there recently for about a week and a half with a gall bladder issue everybody there was great from the doctors to the nurses to the cnas to the social workers to the various medical imaging techs to the administration folks to the therapists special shout out goes to the 3rd floor advanced care nurses and cnas who really shined as they provided what i can only describe as top notch care for my mother while she was battling some pretty bad hospital related dementia symptoms the only thing that i could mention even somewhat critically is that they kinda sorta maybe didnt diagnose her condition 100 percent correctly right away in the ER and so there was a little bit of time that lost on that but at the of the day i would rather have them think she has a heart issue when its a gall bladder than a gall bladder when its a heart issue but nonetheless generally very pleased with the experience way better nurses and cnas overall at this little hospital than at any of the big hospitals in rockford weve ever experienced professional polite courteous patient kind understanding knowledgeable are all words i would use to describe them wouldnt hesitate to go there again
