The team at Mountain Laurel is AMAZING!! The care that they provide to the residents is great. I Highly Highly recommend them to anyone needing skilled or long term care!! They go above and beyond, the leadership team is awesome and is always there if you need anything!!

Was there today visiting my brother. Staff was extremely friendly, everything was clean and smell was fresh. Excellent facility. Activities Director is very creative and active. The patients love her.

My father was a resident from 2015-2018 and received excellent care. Staff were loving and attentive to him. No place is perfect especially when staff are in short supply, overworked and underpaid. But we couldn't have been more pleased. Residents are regularly entertained with fun activities and beautiful music.

I appreciate the wonderful activities offered to the residents here at Mt Laurel! I just attended the summer community picnic with music , food and sunshine! This facility has an activities director who really cares about the residents and tries to bring joy into their lives. I have worked in many nursing homes throughout my life and career. Always challenging to care for those in need. I want to encourage Mt Laurel to continue to show love and care to these dear people. Bravo‘

Sorry that I missed the Saturday event! It is a privilege to provide museum programs for the sweet residents of this wonderful facility. Every time I arrive to share stories from History, it is so wonderfully decorated and welcoming. The activities are top notch there! I am so honored to be included!

Mountain Laurel has amazing events for their residents and the community. We were able to participate and mingle with the residents. They all had a wonderful time. Cindy always goes out of her way to make the residents comfortable by providing entertainment and games. You are lucky to have Cindy working for you.

I am leaving a positive review because, I have had family there. They were well taken care of, no everything is not perfect but, in all of reality ,it wouldn't have been perfect at home either . Sometimes people think medical staff are miracle workers, I understand the challenge today of staffing, less and less people are going into nursing ,especially nursing assistants, because it is HARD work. I also started doing some volunteer work, there at the rehab center while a family member was there, I continue to do that ,even though the last one of my loved ones to be a resident there, passed away last year at 86. I have encountered a lot of residents that tell me they like it there, tell me of the activities they like to do, the music they like to hear, some even tell me they wouldn't go back home if they could, because it was lonely at home ,there they have family and friends there to talk to everyday. I can say, when I walk into this facility ,there is no smell of urine or feces. I have never heard any of the nurses or workers be hateful to the residents, even though some were trying to get out doors they weren't supposed to for their safety. I have saw many medical facilities in my career, this one is one of the cleanest ,happy atmosphere I have been in.

Our church, Sharon Baptist Church, supports Mountain Laurel in several ways. Our pastor holds regular services for residents. The youth group also ministers with song during separate sessions. In addition, an elderly couple from the church puts on a monthly story time/puppet show. The congregation at large regularly donates food items for special collections for Easter baskets and Christmas stockings, etc. Special thanks to Cindy McKay, activity director, who coordinates all these efforts and countless others involving the entire community. Rural Retreat is lucky to have Mountain Laurel and I encourage you to consider their facility should the need arise.

Absolutely the worst! Although the food was good and some of the staff were caring, most of the experience was horrible. A nurse's aide told me to #%$@ in my pants as she was too busy to assist me at that time and would get to me later. 2 hours later! They lost ALL of my clothes and provided used clothing for use that smelled like mold! My interactions were with the aides only and rarely saw a nurse or doctor. This place needs a total change in Management!!

This place needs to be shut down! Dirty, never anyone around to talk to! Leave patients in bed don’t answer the buzzer! And when you request a bill to be sent to you every month don’t get it! And when you request one at the front desk it’s not even itemized! Don’t return phone calls no matter how many messages you leave! Don’t bathe your family but once a week if you’re lucky! Don’t get all the laundry back! I highly recommend you don’t put your family member in this home! And the invoices aren’t right have to fight to try and get someone to explain why payments aren’t on the invoice you made! It’s a real joke and unsafe for your family! Please reconsider before sending a loved one there!

Funny how I been visiting my mother here for over a year now & haven’t been asked for a review but tonight my granddaughter tapped on the five star rating & now you want my opinion?.Good considering how under staffed the facility continues to be. Not sure how you take all these people’s incomes & still don’t have a reasonable amount of staff or supplies for your residences. Once again there is new management which has rehired an administrator who was fired previously, I suppose he has been retrained & is new an improve now, or maybe not. I wouldn’t know since I haven’t meet him. There are so many issues that need to be addressed. After a year of watching this facility, I would consider myself knowledgeable about the fact that things are not getting better. Good to know a five star rating from a child makes my opinion worthy.

Beautiful facility, sadly understaffed. I have spent the last 3 days here watching these employees run around non stop to care for the residents of this facility. The staff is overworked and that is going to inevitably cause a lower degree of care and moral. I see turnover of employees due to the understaffing.
