The Barrington at Hioaks has.employees that were engaging with my mom and dad while they lived there. For the most part we were satisfied that they got good care. The food is excellent and they do take time with the menus. The dining area is nice. They have lots of activities for the residents that are helpful if the residents participate. Many of the staff were helpful in the nursing department, on site therapy, finance and the front desk staff. The staff in memory care has wonderful activities for the residents. The Assisted living side of the house seems to have more consistent care. When our mom was down in memory care, we saw that her room cleanliness, and her personal hygiene were neglected on a regular basis. The other mention I would give is that in the last 6 months, if we were to get any answers, or any communication, we needed to go there in person and speak to the staff. We would not get call backs or communication via email except for a few. That was the most difficult for our family. The executive director failed to return our calls and emails and for the most part, ignored our concerns. Also on a safety issue note, the elevator on the one end of the building where my parents lived has been out of order since November I believe. This is a major safety concern because many of the residents are in wheelchairs. They would have to be gotten to the other side of the building in order to get out in the case of a fire. My mother had a beautiful Cardinal sweatshirt that her granddaughter gave her. We never got that back, even though we asked several times, and we saw the sweatshirt on another Memory Care resident. For the rent and amount of money that was paid to the Barrington, the last 6 months did not live up to what they claim to do for your family members and their standards. I will give this facility two stars for the experiences that we had.

I recently had the opportunity to tour the Barrington at Hioaks, and I was blown away by everything this property offers. It's true what they say about not judging a book by its cover, as this is apparent in the oldest Hioaks care facility. One of the standout features for me was the availability of amenities and services that truly go above and beyond. One particular aspect that caught my attention was the on-site hairstylist who accepts outside appointments and clients. This level of convenience and flexibility is a testament to the Barrington's dedication to meeting residents' needs. Additionally, the private gym instructors who come at an affordable cost make it easy for residents to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. But my goodness, the culinary delights offered by their fantastic chef and culinary team. The food spreads at this facility go beyond your average box or warm lunch. The chef and his team wo During my tour, Fajr and Zsavonne provided an exceptional experience. Their fantastic personalities shone through, and it was evident that there is a genuine passion for and commitment to the community and individualized care. The knowledge and enthusiasm made me feel confident that the Barrington at Hioaks is a place where residents are genuinely valued and well-cared for. Having had personal experiences in searching for care facilities for loved ones in the past, I appreciate the Barrington for many reasons. If I had the opportunity years ago, I would have undoubtedly chosen this facility for my Nana. The level of dedication, compassion, and attention to detail demonstrated by the staff is truly commendable. Overall, my visit to the Barrington at Hioaks left a lasting impression. With its exceptional amenities, dedicated staff, and commitment to individualized care, it is a place that I highly recommend to anyone in search of an outstanding senior living community.

In touring, the Barrington at Hioaks, the newly renovated community, which is now under RUI ownership, I was wowed by the new transformation! Not only are the aestetics gorgeous, the apartments ones I would consider! RUI's signature programs (at all their locations) such as Luxe, FIT, Meals, RUI University, Leash for Life which allows the residents to keep their pets, are all wonderful programs! Residents were engaging, happy and so wonderful! Their memory program, Inspiritas, was a great area! View the community for yourself!

I just want to thank the facility staff for really looking out for my uncle. I know my aunt played hell getting him in there and they've been great. I stopped by to visit since he's been there for a bit and the holidays are coming up. He told me about a bunch of staff, but mostly about the kitchen. He's a big fan of a guy named Aaron in the kitchen and said that he makes grilled cheeses on command for him and they aren't dripping with grease or smashed like someone stepped on them to cook faster. Not sure the old guy should eat too many of those, but glad he's a fan. He told me another funny story that Aaron told him that his beef tips and mushshrooms was a family recipe and that he couldn't give out the secret and some other back and forth about that. Whatever it is, I'm just glad he's taking a liking to him and getting along there with his new buddy. Thanks for all you guys and Aaron do for him.

The Barrington is a wonderful Independent living, assisted living, and memory care community near Chippenham Hospital. The residents receive quality care; there's a wide variety of activities for the many different backgrounds of the residents; and the food is delicious as well :). It's been around for many years and offers not only quality care, but consistent care! They work quickly to address any issue - large or small to ensure residents have a fun and fulfilling life there. I can highly recommend the Barrington!

Before choosing the Barrington for my father, I toured a half dozen other assisted living facilities. By far, Barrington provides a superior environment. It feels more like an all-inclusive hotel than assisted living. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The apartments are well appointed. Dad raves about the food in the dining room. There are planned outings, and many daily activities. There is an on-site masseuse as well as a full service salon, a gym, and Starbucks Cafe in the lobby. There are raised garden beds outside as well as a wonderful pavilion for catching the sun or shade. They literally roll out the red carpet for their residents. Thank you for making Dad feel so welcome and at home.

This is the most amazing facility for your loved ones. When my father arrived he was stunned by the quality of the care here. Their attention to detail shows the love that their employees have not only for the residents but for each other. I highly recommend them! When employees are happy at their job it shows in their faces and the way they treat each other and their guests. You can see that each staff member takes pride in doing their job with love and making every detail perfect for the residents. It doesn't feel like a nursing home it feels like a very nice apartment complex with a restaurant style dining room and a movie theater!

My mom stayed in the memory care unit here and I feel she received excellent care. The staff is extremely kind and caring, and did an excellent job engaging my mom with the community. This was a difficult time for us as it was my mom's first experience with assisted living and she was suffering from dementia. Knowing she was in good hands of caring, capable people provided some needed comfort.

I can say the staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. The residents always seem happy and well taken care of. The facilities are clean and newly renovated. There is access to the Midlothian area hospitals, doctors, restaurants, and entertainment. If you were looking for an assisted living facility I would highly recommend a Barrington Hioaks.

I can't say enough positive things about this place. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The facility has been recently renovated and the residents have access to impressive amenities. They are also afforded the ability to age in place, where they can receive additional care but remain in their same apartments. I've also attended a few events there and the chef is amazing! I would highly recommend this facility to any seniors looking for a new home.

The decision for my mother to select Barrington was based on her question to Brigitta was.."can this be where i can make my home and die here?... The answers was yes. There was an awesome room available and my my said I want this to be my new home. She entered as first level assisted living. From day one the staff on every level of care have been spot on, caring, patient and pleasant. She tells me every week when I visit that she is so happy with her decision. My communication with the staff is very reassuring. We are blessed that my mom is content, feels save and taking care of.

My mom has been here for a year and I can't say enough good about this place. The staff greets me by name when I come in to visit. They all know who my mom is and, what she's interested in. My mom needs a great deal of care and the kindness that this staff has shown towards her speaks directly to my heart. I would recommend the Barrington at Hioaks if you need a safe and caring place for your aging parent to live.

A great facility with such caring staff and my loved one just cant stop talking about all of the fun activities that they offer. The maintenance staff is great as well. They are quick to address maintenance request, even for the littlest things. We have been to other facilities in the area, and this one is hands down the best.

Our hospice company works collaboratively with this community and I can honestly say that our hospice patients receive great care here! The staff is very attentive to our patients and respond quickly to their needs. We really enjoy working with them, and our communication with them is excellent.

I like the freedom that comes with living here. My family is close by, I can go visit them and they can come visit me. There is a lot of security here to make sure you are safe. Ive been at The Towers for 3.5 years. My favorite activities are happy hour and bingo. You have a choice of what you would like to do here and youll like some activities better than others. I really enjoy the Retirement Unlimited University classes. I love the general feeling. There is warmth and nice people around. People strive to make you feel comfortable, this is your home. The nurses are right on the spot when you need help, you just push your pendant and they will be right there. They are accommodating.

Ive been here for 2 years and I really like it here. The people here are friendly. I enjoy the music and bingo activities. I enjoy Retirement Unlimited University as well as the movie theater. Whitney and Hannah are wonderful. The variety of activities are great. The amenities such as housekeeping, mail delivery, and maintenance are really good.

Ive been a resident since June of this year. The air conditioning and heat function well in the rooms. I like the pendant system we have. The quickness that they have is excellent. The nurses are very nice and courteous. The occupational and physical therapists are very helpful to me. You have your own privacy if you want. I would recommend The Towers to anyone who is looking.

My favorite things about living here are the atmosphere as well as the staff. I have found that whenever I had a need the staff was very cooperative. There is always something to do at The Towers. I enjoy going to the resident association meetings. Nursing is very punctual about bringing medications. The people who wait tables in the dining room work very hard making our meals pleasant. I would absolutely recommend The Towers.

I was impressed with The Towers management response to Coronavirus and all of the measures that were put in place to keep our infection rate virtually non-existent. The staff did a lot with cleaning, wiping down surfaces, and enforcing wearing a mask to lower the risk. All of those things are what contributed to keeping us healthy.

Im about 1 week away from becoming the Executive Director of The Towers. Ive been able to spend a few days here and there at the community, but today was a great day. I was given a tour around the community and grounds and had all the plans laid out for me on what the community will look like after all the construction. I was able to take part in the meeting with the window company as we are preparing to replace all the windows in the community as well. From the new windows to the expanded parking lot to the new bistro to the kitchen and dining room being redone (just to mention a few of the changes), The Towers is primed for a resurgence into the senior housing market.

Vivian at the front desk is so welcoming and accommodating. From the minute I came here my first day, shes always been asking what she can do to help me.

I will have been living at The Towers for 12 years in October. I really enjoy the freedom that I have as a resident. I like the food, especially the grits. The breakfast here is very well done. I like doing scrabble as one of the activities. We have a lot of closet space. Leslie is really making a difference here. I enjoy the religious services offered. I think that the staff here really cares. I would definitely recommend The Towers if you are looking for options.

I have been living here for one year. My son looked at two other places with me before selecting The Towers. There are a lot of things to do. I have a beautiful view out of my window. I cant complain at all. The layout of the building is very nice. You never hear people in other apartments because the building is made so well. I had very nice experiences with the aides when they were assisting my husband. They are very helpful and very personal with you. Some of them are absolutely outstanding. Stephanie and Monica are fabulous. Sharonda will always check in with all of us before she starts her shift to let us know she is here.

I have been a resident at The Towers now for 4 years.The best thing here at The Towers is the food. The food is outstanding. The servers are really outstanding because they are quick to bring your food and very friendly. They get to know you, and will already know what you would like to eat or drink. Our Life Enrichment Director, Whitney, has been great. We are very fortunate as well to have an outstanding Executive Director, Leslie. We have a fun happy hour organized by one of the residents, Jim Ridgeway, that is enjoyable to go to. I have nothing but praise to say about the nurses, they take good care of me. I visited several places before I moved in here, and I can absolutely say I made the right decision. I would highly reccomend The Towers

I will have been at The Towers for 3 years next month. The Towers feels like a family between the residents and staff, they are wonderful. I have no complaints. We have a very nice library here. Everything about the building is very convenient, we have a nice dining room. The girl that cleans my room, Diane, is so nice. David is also very nice. The nurses on the second floor where I get my medicine are all super nice. I would highly recommend The Towers.

I have been a resident of The Towers for 5 years. I participate in most of the activities and there are a lot of opportunities offered so that you can get out of your room and be active. One of my favorite things about living here is the people. The residents and staff here are very kind. Overall, the food is good and there is a good turnout of people coming to each meal. I have no complaints about maintenance, they always come quickly and do a great job. I am satisfied.
