Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Does not feel like a “ facility “… feels like home. Meals are plentiful and varied. Staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond in service. Amenities ( housekeeping, laundry, medical transportation, hair salon, podiatrist, and variety of activities) add to the comfort and satisfaction that I made a good choice. Nursing assessments provide for action if needed for changes in care or medical attention.

Sunrise at BonAir has been a great place for my mother. When I first visited, the energy of the place and the people drew me in. My mother has been well taken care of and seems happy. Those were the 2 things I was looking for. I needed to feel like I could leave her and she would be fine. There have been no major issues and I am very confident that I made the right decision for our family.

Hi there! I am a staff member at Sunrise and I regularly spend time in the Reminiscent unit and I just wanted to say that the staff are so amazing and helpful. Especially the coordinator Krystal is so accommodating and professional, it is obvious she chose the right profession because she radiates kindness and compassion and it makes all the difference and creates a positive environment for both residents and staff. She is client centered and collaborates well with families and staff to deliver the utmost care and comfort the residents in her care. Thank you in advance for acknowledging the strengths and attributes this employee provides to your establishment, you have selected an excellent person to fulfill this role.

my mother was there from June 2017 until her death in April 2019 and we had a similar experience as Jen Rye had. My mother ate meals as long as she was able to go to the dining room. But when she didn't feel well enough to go to the dining room they brought her meals to her room. I noticed she started losing weight. Then when I visited after work I started seeing her uneaten lunch on her counter by her sink. While I was there someone would come in and take her dinner order. When dinner came I noticed there was no silverware. When I looked in her dinette drawer to get silverware there was none. She had been getting her own silverware and they had been taking it back to the kitchen without replacing it. I decided to be there at dinner time for a whole week to correct the situation. It happened every night for a whole week in spite of me speaking to administrators in charge, sending emails to the director, and going to the kitchen every night to make sure I told everyone she wasn't getting silverware to eat with and asking that her silverware be replaced. I walked around the dining room and saw pieces of her silverware on the tables, but the kitchen told me they had checked and they didn't have any of it. The director told me she posted a directive on their computer system to provide silverware but that didn't make a difference. Finally, I spoke to the chef and he provided place settings to replace her silverware She kept losing weight and asked me at one point if a person could die from starvation. She was gone 3 months later. My efforts to rectify the situation were met with insincere concern, lack of concern, and denials. This experience was a nightmare.

Every time I visit Sunrise of Bon Air I am impressed with the warmth and professionalism of the staff and how they interact and engage the residents. Feels like one big family!

Sunrise has done a great job caring for my mom. I am a very strong advocate for her, and they have always been responsive to both her needs and mine. The community is comfortable and because it is smaller than others close by, the staff know my mom and me well. I have been pleased with the care and services provided and have referred several other families to Sunrise as a result of my trust in them.

The activity coordinators are a loving ,patient, compassionate team who go above and beyond to meaningfully engage the residents in a variety of different activities. From Bingo Bucks to the special holiday celebrations their creativity and devotion to residents engagement really shines. A special shadow box is created by the staff which reflects each residents history, hobbies and interests; this box hangs outside each resident's door. You can see the activities staff cares very deeply about bringing their best to those in their care.
