When we dropped my mother off, the staff said we will treat her like she is our mother. Well, she was neglected and abused. She had bed bugs and it took staff over 2 weeks to call an exterminator. Her shower only hard cool water, because the on/off valve was broken. The said that they could not fix it because they would have to remove it and that there was asbestos behind it. The laundry constantly lost her clothes and we couldn't get reimbursed. My mother was sick and had a BM in her pants while sitting on the couch. When I came to visit, I found that she had been sitting in her BM for hours.When I asked if they could give her a shower and they said, tomorrow was her shower day. There were no communications between staff and family members. I found out that due to a storm, the power was out for 3 days, it was in the 90s on those 3 days. No one called us. I am going to be a witness in a court case involving another Senior resident that was neglected at Imperial plaza. The new owners will not communicate will family members and think that they are above the law. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES THERE. It's a DEATH HOUSE. BY the way, we were paying $5600 a month not including food and medications so they could abuse our mother. I have a box of documentation of all these incidents and more. Hopefully the court case will bring to light the neglected at Imperial Plaza, also adult social services was notified, but are not very fast at there investigation.

My 87-yr old mother moved to Imperial Plaza in August, so far so good. She has a nice clean cozy apartment and all the utilities work well. We had a small issue with her landline but Dawna and Casey got right on it and fixed the problem immediately. Shes also getting two free meals a day and theres a Pharmacy and convenient store on the premises. Their security is very tight so I know Mom is safe. I highly recommend Imperial Plaza.

Today as I was returning home I saw one of the employees as he was leaving work stop, get out of his car and help one of our elderly ladies with her groceries. This gentleman was kind and patient helped her place her parcels in her basket and getting her to the sidewalk. Mrs. B was insisting she could make it from that point. The employee watched to make sure she made it safely to the door. This is called being a GOOD PERSON, and I ( we ) thank you. **This is just one example of how the Imperial Plaza employers are helping when they think no one is watching.

Great place if you are realistic about what you are spending for what you receive in return. We see a lot of.compassion. and love for my mom who is almost 100. Good food and many social activities for all who care to participate. Recommended.

I have been here three months and am very pleased with the facility. The food is excellent for senior living, especially for those of us who can still eat a variety of food with good seasoning. The library is small but has a good selection of books, including newly released titles. It has a good selection of free movies as well as TV service. You can have small pets, so your beloved dog or cat can join you for a small monthly payment. It is not going to please everyone but that would be true no matter where you live

My uncle moved into Imperial Plaza in December of last year and I visited the community several times after he moved in. I loved the atmosphere so much when I would visit him I decided to apply for a job! Almost a year later and I know I made the right decision. Imperial Plaza feels like a family. The residents are the sweetest and the staff was welcoming from day one! Plus when I'm here I never have to leave, we have a bank, restaurants, and a grocery store right on site. Great place to work.

Imperial Plaza has a very welcoming feeling when you walk around the community, and I must call it a community as it is massive. There are so many features once you arrive it seems like they have thought of everything. They have a bank, a small grocery type store, a restaurant, and even a beauty salon. My uncle moved here in December of last year and he really likes how close Imperial Plaza is to local attractions in Richmond. He also really enjoys meeting with his neighbors.

The staff here are outgoing, friendly and courteous with the desire to assist you in any way they can. They go out of their way to assist residents to overcome their barriers to Independent Living. They have helped me, in my past two years here, overcome the death of two loved ones! When I first moved here I was primary caregiver 24/7 for a senior who just came back from the nursing home, and whom had been my friend for 8 years. I moved us here from two separate one-bedroom apartments into this community as he would no longer be able to climb stairs. When it was time for him to come home and receive respite care the maintenance staff here help me prepare for all the equipment and make way for the bed and everything else to come into the home. The staff here have helped me in every way they could with every bear I have faced in the past two years, which I have faced many. Financial and not, they have saw me through each and every one. I have never worked with a leasing office this willing to please and help their residence and however they can. I highly recommend this community to all of my friends and family. If you are looking for a community for your loved one this is the place for them! This year the property took on a new management team and Company, so far it is been a wonderful transition and much better than Brookdale management. However, that's not saying much as Brookdale was such a poor management company. I could tell you many nightmares I experienced as they were leaving the property, however there is not enough time to go into that here. Yesterday I lost my companion animal, which was a cat that was very dear to me named little one who my it had for 8 years. The executive director himself came to my apartment to offer his condolences and to make preparations and see to the burial of her, so that I would not have to deal with that pain. One of his coworkers, who is always been one of my favorites here, joint him today! It is unbelievable how far these people will go to see that your life transitions are as easy as possible.

Service is mostly good from working staff having direct contact with residents-patients. Service is nonexistent from management staff. The policy seems to be to not answer any voice mails (its rare to actually get anything other than an answering machine) or e-mails, unless theyre from a prospective customer. In which case, youre likely to get a prompt response.
