Needing home health care services was something I never really expected I would need, until my grandpa started to get older and lose his memory. Once he stopped driving we knew he would need help at home so that he didnt hurt himself or burn the house down. I called Home Care Assistance in Richmond and talked with Elaine. She was totally understanding and heard all of my concerns. Elaine was there for us in so many ways. She handled the care management side of things. If I ever had concerns, I just called her to give better direction to her staff. Elaine goes above and beyond the call of duty and is meticulous. She went so far as to make sure the carpets in my grandpas house all had rubber mats underneath to prevent slipping and falling. I could go on and on, but needless to say I highly recommend Elaine and Home Care Assistance for senior care, light housekeeping, medication reminders, dressing and grooming, and especially transportation to his doctor appointments. It was so nice knowing my grandpa could still get out of the house with a proper chaperone.

Our family worked with Rebecca Grim and HCA to arrange in-home care for my parents who are in their 90s. The experience was smooth and the results have been excellent. HCA listened and understood our needs and arranged first-rate care with outstanding caregivers. We are extremely pleased with the results and we strongly recommend HCA of Richmond to anyone seeking in-home care.

The main difficulty was the initial phase. You have to be patient and straightforward and everyone at HC was. It would be nice if we could use HC all the time, and work around my Mothers main caregiver, who is really excellent.

Becky Grimm and everyone on her staff with whom my family has interacted have provided skillful and compassionate care to both of my parents over the past several months. The respectful care given my 96 year old father during his last weeks of life enabled him to remain in his home as he wished, comfortably and with his dignity intact. Beckys caregivers coordinated with hospice providers not only to support my father, but to understand and anticipate the needs of my mother and the entire family. The services we kept in place for my mother have given her needed companionship and assistance following the loss of her beloved partner of 72 years, and have given her children the peace of mind needed to resume our busy lives far from the Williamsburg area. It is hard to imagine how we would have navigated these difficult times without the wonderful and flexible support we have all received from Home Care Assistance of Williamsburg.

A little over five years ago, my mother suffered a stroke and I was referred to Home Care Assistance of Richmond. Initially, they provided companion care for my mother during the day, seven days a week. As my mothers physical condition continued to worsen, I extended the care to 24 hours a day. I have been very pleased with Home Care for a number of reasons. One is continuity of care providers. My mother has the same two caregivers week in and week out. This has given me the opportunity to get to know the caregivers and establish a working relationship with them. They have become an integral part of my mothers medical team which includes her primary care physician, neurologists and therapists. Also, the companions demonstrate an actual concern for my mothers well-being. They are compassionate and caring in the way they interact with her. And there is no price you can place on the peace of mind knowing that a loved one is being cared for in a manner that you would provide yourself if possible.

My 84 year old mother had fallen resulting in a very badly sprained foot and ankle and shoulder. She could barely walk, couldnt dress or undress herself due to her shoulder, and was pretty much dependent on someone else to do most things. Becky Grim, the owner, has been involved since my original call for information. She has been wonderful. The home care workers she sent were caring, took care of my moms needs, and were fabulous. They helped my mom get showered, dressed, they washed and dried the sheets and then changed the bed. They served her a meal each time they came, and they even cleaned up around the house when they werent working directly with my mom. WOW!!! They were great! I would recommend them without hesitation.

I used Home Care Assistance to provide care for a client of mine for Home Health Care from September 2017- November 27, 2018 when he passed away. I needed someone quickly around the clock until he was placed in a nursing home as he had no family or friends that could help. I continued to use this agency while he was in the nursing home because they were so good and helped him feel safe and calm. The nursing staff came out right away to evaluate him and we were staffed right away. The staff was always prompt, qualified, kind and caring. Background checks were always completed. Communication was exceptional. My client was a more difficult case, personality wise, but they were still very patient and kind. They were very dependable, I never had to worry if they were coming or not. The agency was quick to cover a sick worker, a flat tire and to communicate it with me when necessary. This will be the first agency that I will call when I need care for another client. I highly recommend Home Care Assistance.

Home Care Assistance provides 24 hour live-in companions for my mother. Theyve been superb about ensuring 100% seamless coverage, even when emergencies have occurred. Home Care Assistance has been helping us out for over 8 months now, through some very trying times. Everyone is always looking out for my mother and the staff has gone above and beyond to find just the right people to work with her. I would rate their service an A+!

Home Care Assistance is a blessing. My husband was in the hospital and I knew he was going to need a helping hand. I was communicating with Becky Grim prior to my husbands release from the hospital, and she was on standby ready to provide care. When I called her and told her hubby was coming home, everything was taken care of. Help was here before I knew it. If you have a loved one that needs a caregiver, do not hesitate to call. They are a wonderful company and their service is above and beyond.

At 94 yrs young. Mom certainly needs help shopping, cleaning, cooking. and errand-running. The twist is that she thinks she doesnt need it! Her Care Assistant has obviously, in the past, dealt with patients like Mom, as evidenced by the results of her help over the past three years; that is, Mom really likes her in her home, even waits by the door for her. Overall, Mom is a happier person now than she was three years ago. There is a new trust factor in most of the aforementioned areas., too, have found my life easier in that Home Care Assistances administration takes care of all those little glitches which pop up in the course of this life. Taking care of Mom has become an informed team effort. Her Home Care Assistance works closely with Mom and HCAs administration and they work closely with me, her POA.

Home Care Assistance took amazing care of my mother. They cared for her for 3 years before she passed. The staff was professional and kind. We had tried another home care agency first but they were unreliable and their staff wanted to sleep when they were suppose to be working. I was worried wed have the same again but the staff at Home Care Assistance were always reliable and made my mother happy. It brings tears to my eyes how much they meant to her.
