I just want to acknowledge how patient and understanding everyone on the team is. They really want you to succeed and do well. I’ve done both Acute care and rehabilitation. Neither of them really allowed me to build a proper client-to-caregiver relationship where I could actually suffice their needs. A lot of methods of healthcare can be forced and take away from their autonomy. Commonwise prevents that by providing needs specified directly from the client. It’s been so rejuvenating and refreshing to be working with patients that are also usually ambulatory and doing for themselves. Overall such a great company to be apart of.

My wife developed dementia in early 2020 just as the Covid-19 virus started to spread. I saw to her needs for the next two years, but as her dementia worsened, it became necessary for me to find a caregiver organization that would be able to help me. I tried one local organization that had just bought a franchise in my area and that did not work out very well. I turned to my nephew who had contracted with Commonwise in the Charlottesville area to help care for his father. He strongly recommended Commonwise. I contacted them and they provided outstanding home care over the next several months until it became necessary for my wife to be cared for 24/7. Commonwise personnel were always courteous and efficient and I recommend them without any reservations.

Our experience with Commonwise was wonderful! On very short notice, we needed to secure around-the-clock care for my mom. Michelle was able to evaluate her and line up appropriate care immediately. The caregivers were warm and friendly and took such great care of my mother. In addition, they were punctual and professional. Lastly, Michelle kept in close contact to monitor my moms progress. We highly recommend Commonwise. They walked through each day with us and helped to make this challenging situation more manageable.

I was referred to your company by Westminster Canterbury-Richmond as my mother was a resident there. She was later diagnosed with cancer. She was under hospice care there, and she additionally had a CNA from another company come in 8 hours a day. When she got worse, the other company was not able to provide additional staffing. That is when your company was referred to me. From my first call to your company until my mothers last day, everyone with your company was exceptional. I threw a couple of last minute curve balls at your company when the other company informed us they could not fulfill existing scheduled care taker hours. Your Richmond rep was understanding, confident and always came through with good news to fill the gaps (and ease the stress). Bottom line, I set a high bar for everybody. I would think in your industry it is a continuous struggle to secure and keep quality caretakers since it is a thankless job. I would refer your company to anybody.

My 79 year old mother, who was happily living in her own home alone, suddenly became ill and we realized that she had gone from complete independence to urgently needing care 24-7. As I had heard wonderful things about Commonwise Home Care, and especially about James Jennings and the caregivers he carefully chooses, I called James that very afternoon, and he was not only sympathetic to my situation, but calmly assured me that he was able to send help to my mothers home within the week! He asked me pertinent questions about my mother, her health, her habits, and her lifestyle. The next day, Commonwises RN came to see my mother, carefully assessing her needs with calm competence and a great sense of humor! Even though our need was immediate, the caregiver who arrived the next day wasnt just a sitter, like so many other agencies provide, but a knowledgeable, sweet, and loving LPN with whom my mom immediately bonded! My mom needed this round-the clock care for several months, and Commonwise Home Care of Richmond was truly a blessing for our family. Each and every caregiver was friendly, kind, compassionate, intelligent, and seemed to know just what my mom needed - some quiet time, to watch an up-lifting Hallmark movie, or engage in animated conversation. James Jennings is clearly dedicated to his mission of providing high quality home health care to each and every client. I give Commonwise Home Care of Richmond 5 stars and highly recommend them to anyone needing in-home care for their loved one.
